16:1
There too is recorded Astyrius, on account of his God-pleasing boldness—a man who was of the senatorial order at Rome, dear to the emperors, and known to all for his nobility and wealth; who, being present at the time when the martyr was perfected, putting his shoulder under it, took up the body upon his bright and costly raiment and bore it away, and having laid it out very richly, delivered it to fitting burial. Of this man his acquaintances, who have remained even unto us, relate countless other things as well.
