καθ᾿ ὃν τελευταίας συγκροτηθείσης πλείστῶν ὅσων ἐπισκόπων συνόδου φωραθεὶς καὶ πρὸς ἀπάντων ἤδη σαφῶς καταγνωσθεὶς ἑτεροδοξίαν ὁ τῆς κατὰ Ἀντιόχειαν αἱρέσεως ἀρχηγὸς τῆς ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανὸν καθολικῆς ἐκκλησίας ἀποκηρύττεται.
在他的日子，召開了一次最後的大會，聚集了極多的主教；那安提阿異端的首領既被察出，如今又被眾人明明定為異端，就被逐出普天之下的大公教會。
in whose day a final synod was assembled of a very great number of bishops, and the leader of the heresy at Antioch, being detected and now clearly condemned of heterodoxy by all, was excommunicated from the Catholic Church under heaven.

μάλιστα δ αὐτὸν εὐθύνας ἐπικρυπτόμενον διήλεγξε Μαλχίων, ἀνὴρ τά τε ἄλλα λόγιος καὶ σοφὸς, τῆς τῶν ἐπ Ἀντιοχείας Ἑλληνικῶν παιδευτηρίων διατριβῆς προεστὼς, οὐ μὴν ἀλλὰ καὶ δι ὑπερβάλλουσαν τῆς εἰς Χριστὸν πίστεως γνησιότητα πρεσβυτερίου τῆς αὐτόθι παροικίας ἠξιωμένος· οὗτός γέ τοι ἐπισημειουμένων ταχυγράφων ζήτησιν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐνστησάμενος, ἣν καὶ εἰς δεῦρο φερομένην ἴσμεν, μόνος ἴσχυσε τῶν ἄλλων κρυψίνουν ὄντα καὶ ἀπατηλὸν φωρᾶσαι τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
在眾人中最能追究他、並揭穿他種種隱瞞的，就是馬爾基安，這人在別的事上也博學而有智慧，作安提阿希臘學府的學監；不但如此，因他對基督的信心極其純正，也被尊為該地教會的長老。這人由速記員筆錄之下，向保羅展開一場辯難——我們知道這篇辯難直到今日仍存留——眾人之中惟有他能識破那詭詐欺人的傢伙。
The one who most of all called him to account and refuted him in his concealments was Malchion, a man learned and wise in other respects, who presided over the school of the Greek educational establishments at Antioch; and moreover, on account of the surpassing genuineness of his faith in Christ, he had been deemed worthy of the presbyterate of that community. This man, then, with stenographers taking notes, instituted a disputation against him—which we know to be extant even to this day—and he alone of them all was able to detect that crafty and deceitful person.
