At this time, then, Xystus still presided over the church of the Romans; and over that at Antioch, after Fabius, Demetrian; and Firmilian over Caesarea of the Cappadocians; and besides these, over the churches in Pontus, Gregory and his brother Athenodorus, disciples of Origen. And over Caesarea in Palestine, when Theoctistus had departed, Domnus succeeded to the episcopate; but he having continued only a short time, Theotecnus, our contemporary, was appointed his successor. And he too was of the school of Origen. And at Jerusalem also, when Mazabanes had gone to his rest, Hymenaeus, who himself was distinguished for very many years down to our own day, succeeded to the throne.
