but yourself, who now art clothed in soft garments and breathing of perfumes, suffering remediless things—what profit will your wealth and abundance be to you? and what harm will his poverty be to the craftsman? That we may not, then, suffer these things, let us fear the words now spoken, and let us spend all our leisure in the pursuit of things necessary.
For having in this manner propitiated God for our past sins, and having added to them the good deeds that are to come, we shall be able to attain the kingdom of heaven, by the grace and lovingkindness [of our Lord Jesus Christ], and so forth.
