耶穌聽見他們把他趕出去了;
And Jesus heard that they had cast him out;
60:2
and having found him, He said to him:
60:3
«Dost thou believe on the Son of God?» That man answered and said:
60:4
«And who is He, Lord, that I may believe on Him?» and the rest.
60:5
Those who for the sake of the truth and their confession of Christ suffer some grievous thing and are insulted—these above all are they who are honoured.
60:6
因為正如那為祂的緣故失去財物的人,反倒是最得著財物的人;
For just as he who loses his goods for His sake is the one who most of all finds them;
60:7
又如那恨惡自己性命的人,反倒是最愛惜性命的人;
and he who hates his own soul is himself the one who most of all loves it;
60:8
照樣,那被辱罵的人,也正是最受尊榮的人;
so too he who is insulted is the very one who most of all is honoured;
60:9
which is precisely what came to pass in the case of the blind man.
60:10
The Jews, then, cast him out of the temple, and the Master of the temple found him.
60:11
他脫離了那害人的公會,卻遇見了那救恩的泉源;
He was rid of the pestilent council, and lighted upon the saving Fountain;
60:12
he was dishonoured by those who had dishonoured Christ, and was honoured by the Master of the angels.
60:13
Such are the prizes of the truth.
60:14
我們也是如此,我們若在這裡撇下財富,就在那裡得著坦然無懼的親近;
Thus we too, if here we leave our riches, we find there boldness of access;
60:15
我們若在這裡賙濟受苦的人,就必在諸天之上得享安息;
if here we give to the afflicted, we shall rest in the heavens;
60:16
if we are insulted for God's sake, we are honoured both here and there.
60:17
«And when they had cast him out of the temple, Jesus found him.»
60:18
The evangelist shows that Jesus came for this very purpose, that He might meet with him.
60:19
且看祂用什麼來報答他;
And see with what things He requites him;
60:20
for He both made Himself known to him, who before knew Him not, and enrolled him in the choir of His own disciples.
60:21
But do you consider how carefully the evangelist relates the matter.
60:22
For when Jesus had said, «Dost thou believe on the Son of God?» he says:
60:23
«Lord, and who is He?» For he did not yet know Him, although he had been healed.
60:24
For he was blind before he came to his benefactor, and after his cure he was dragged about by those dogs.
60:25
Just as, then, some president of the games receives an athlete who has toiled much and been crowned,
60:26
so also—and what does He say? «Dost thou believe on the Son of God?» What means this? After so great a contradiction against the Jews, after so many words, does He ask, «Dost thou believe?» not from ignorance, but wishing to make Himself known, and showing that He sets a high value upon the man's faith.
60:27
祂彷彿在說:「這麼多的群眾辱罵了我,但我對他們毫不介意;
«So great a crowd insulted me,» He says as it were, «but of them I take no account;
60:28
one thing alone concerns me—that thou shouldst believe.»
60:29
For better is one man who does the will of the Lord than ten thousand transgressors.
60:30
「你信神的兒子嗎?」祂就這樣問他,彷彿祂當時在場,並且贊同他所說的話;
«Dost thou believe on the Son of God?» As though present and approving of what had been said, thus He questions him;
60:31
and first He brought him into a longing for Himself.
60:32
For He did not say, «Believe forthwith,» but in the form of a question.
60:33
What, then, does that man say? 'And who is he, Lord, that I may believe on him?' This is the utterance of a soul that longs and earnestly seeks.
60:34
The very One concerning whom so much had been spoken to him, this One he does not recognize—that you may learn his love of the truth.
60:35
For he had not yet seen him.
60:36
'You have both seen him, and it is he who is speaking with you.'
60:37
但他仍在眾人中間,並且有所隱退保留;
but he was still, as it were, in their midst and holding himself back;
60:38
and therefore he added the plainer word:
60:39
and immediately he worshipped him.
60:40
他並沒有說:「我就是醫治你的那位,就是對你說『你去,在西羅亞池子裡洗』的那位」;
And he did not say, 'I am the one who healed you, who said to you, Go, wash in Siloam';
60:41
but, passing over all these things in silence, he says:
60:42
「你信神的兒子嗎?」隨後那人顯出他滿心的虔敬,立刻俯伏敬拜;
'Do you believe on the Son of God?' Then, displaying his great devotion, the man immediately worshipped;
60:43
這是在受了醫治的人中很少有人做的,例如那些長大痲瘋的,或別的甚麼人;
which few of those who had been healed did—such as the lepers, and any other like them;
60:44
and by this he showed forth his divine power.
60:45
For lest anyone should think that what was said was a mere word, he added also the deed.
60:46
And when he had worshipped, Christ says:
60:47
'For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.'
60:48
那麼我們可說甚麼呢?那沒有追求義的外邦人,反得了義,就是那本於信耶穌的義;
What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained to righteousness—even the righteousness that is by faith in Jesus;
60:49
but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not attain to a law of righteousness.
60:50
他既說了「我為審判到這世上來」,就一面使那人在信心上更加堅定,一面激動了那些跟隨他的人;
Now having said, 'For judgment I have come into this world,' he both wrought upon that man to a keener faith, and roused up those who were following him;
60:51
for indeed Pharisees also were following him.
60:52
然而「為審判」這話,他是指著更大的刑罰說的;
But the phrase 'For judgment' he spoke with a view to a greater punishment;
60:53
表明那定他罪的人,自己正是被定罪的人;
showing that those who condemned him are themselves the ones condemned;
60:54
those who had condemned him as a sinner are themselves the ones under condemnation.
60:55
Here he speaks of two kinds of recovering sight and two kinds of blindness—the one of the senses, the other of the mind.
60:56
Some of those who were following him say to him:
60:57
'Are we also blind?' Just as elsewhere they were saying:
60:58
「我們從來沒有作過誰的奴僕」;
'We have never been in bondage to anyone';
60:59
「我們不是從淫亂生的」;
'We were not born of fornication';
60:60
so now also they gape only at the things of sense, and are ashamed of this maiming.
60:61
Then, showing that it was better for them to be blind than to see, he says:
60:62
'If you were blind, you would have no sin.'
60:63
Since they thought the matter—the calamity—to be a thing of shame, he turned it back upon their own head, saying that this would bring them a more tolerable punishment; everywhere cutting down human conceits, and leading them to a great and marvelous consideration.
60:64
'But now you say, We see.'
60:65
Just as there he says, 'Whom you said was your God,' so likewise also here:
60:66
「但如今你們說你們能看見」;
'But now you say that you see';
60:67
here what they supposed to be a great commendation, this he shows to be bringing them punishment.
60:68
至於先前那殘疾,他曾安慰過那生來瞎眼的人;
And concerning the former maiming he had comforted the man blind from birth;
60:69
then he discourses concerning their blindness.
60:70
For lest they should say, 'It is not because of our maiming that we do not come, but we turn away shunning him as a deceiver,' concerning this he makes his whole discourse.
60:71
And not without purpose did the Evangelist record that those who were with him heard these things from the Pharisees, and said:
60:72
'Are we also blind?' but that he might remind you that these were the very ones who had earlier fallen away, and then had stoned him.
60:73
For there were some who followed superficially, and were easily turned to the contrary.
60:74
How then does he establish that he is not a deceiver, but a shepherd? By setting forth the marks of each—both of the shepherd, and of the deceiver and destroyer—and from these affording them the means to examine the truth of the matters.
60:75
And first he shows who is the deceiver and the thief, calling him so from the Scriptures, and saying:
60:76
'Verily, verily, I say to you, he who does not enter through the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, that man is a thief and a robber.'
60:77
Behold the tokens of the robber:
60:78
第一,他不是公然進來的;
first, that he does not enter openly;
60:79
第二,他不是照著聖經進來的;
second, that he does not enter according to the Scriptures;
60:80
for this is what 'not through the door' means.
60:81
在此他既暗指那些在他以前的,也暗指那些將要在他以後來的;
And here he hints both at those before him and at those who would come after him;
60:82
就是那敵基督和假基督;
both the Antichrist and the false christs;
60:83
both Judas and Theudas, and any others of this sort who have arisen.
60:84
And fittingly he called the Scriptures a door.
60:85
因為聖經領我們到神那裡,又開啟我們對神的認識;
For these bring us to God, and open up the knowledge of God;
60:86
these make us sheep, these guard us, and do not permit the wolves to enter in upon us.
60:87
For just as a secure door does, so it shuts out the entrance from the heretics, establishing us in security concerning all things we may will, and not allowing us to be led astray.
60:88
And unless we loosen it, we shall not be overcome.
60:89
Through it we shall know all, both the shepherds and those who are not shepherds.
60:90
And what is 'into the fold'? Toward the sheep and their care.
60:91
因為那不憑聖經、倒從別處爬進去的人;
For he who does not use the Scriptures, but climbs up some other way;
60:92
就是說,為自己開闢另一條不合法度的路;
that is, cutting for himself another and unlawful road;
60:93
你從這裡不是也看見他與父同心嗎?就是他把聖經擺在眾人面前。為此他也對猶太人說:「你們查考聖經」;
Do you see from this also that he is in agreement with the Father, in that he brings forward the Scriptures into their midst? For this reason he also said to the Jews, 'Search the Scriptures';
60:94
and he brought Moses forward into their midst, and called him a witness, and all the prophets.
60:95
他說:「凡聽見眾先知的,都要到我這裡來」;
'For all,' he says, 'who have heard the prophets will come to me';
60:96
and, 'If you believed Moses, you would believe me.'
60:97
But here he set forth the same thing figuratively.
60:98
And having said, 'Climbing up some other way,' he also hinted at the scribes, that they taught commandments—the teachings of men—and transgressed the law, which very thing he himself also said reproachfully:
60:99
'None of you keeps the law.'
60:100
And well did he say 'climbing up,' not 'entering in,' which is the act of a thief who wishes to leap over the wall's coping, and does everything perilously.
60:101
Have you seen how he portrayed the robber? Consider also the mark of the shepherd.
60:102
What then is this? 'He who enters through the door, this is the shepherd of the sheep.'
60:103
To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own by name, and when he has led them out, he goes before them.
60:104
He has here set forth the marks both of the shepherd and of the destroyer.
60:105
Let us see once more how He fitted to them what follows.
60:106
'To him,' He says, 'the doorkeeper opens.'
60:107
He continued in the metaphor, so as to make His discourse more vivid.
60:108
But if you should wish to examine the parable also according to the letter, nothing hinders us from understanding Moses here as the doorkeeper.
60:109
For it was he who was entrusted with the oracles of God.
60:110
'Whose voice the sheep also hear, and he calls his own by name.'
60:111
For since they were saying up and down that He was a deceiver, and confirmed this out of their own unbelief, saying,
60:112
「官長中豈有信祂的呢?」——祂便指明,不可因他們的不信就稱祂為害群者和迷惑人的;
'Which of the rulers has believed on Him?'—He shows that He must not be called a destroyer and deceiver on account of their unbelief;
60:113
rather, it is they who, by not giving heed to Him, are consequently cast out of the rank of the sheep.
60:114
For if it belongs to the shepherd to enter by the appointed door, and He entered by this door,
60:115
那麼凡跟從祂的都可算為羊;
then all who followed could be sheep;
60:116
but those who broke away did not disparage the shepherd, but cast themselves out of kinship with the sheep.
60:117
But if, going on, He says that He Himself is the door, again one need not be troubled.
60:118
For indeed He calls Himself both shepherd and sheep, and in various ways proclaims His own dispensations.
60:119
因為當祂領我們到父那裡去時,祂稱自己為門;
For when He brings us to the Father, He calls Himself a door;
60:120
but when He takes care of us, a shepherd.
60:121
For that you might not think His only work to be the bringing us in, He calls Himself a shepherd as well.
60:122
'And the sheep hear His voice, and He calls His own sheep, and leads them out, and He Himself goes before them.'
60:123
And yet shepherds do the contrary, following behind them.
60:124
但祂為要指明祂必引導眾人歸向真理,就作了與那些牧人相反的事;
But He, showing that He will guide all men to the truth, does the opposite of those shepherds;
60:125
just as also, when He sent forth the sheep, He sent them not away from the wolves, but into the midst of the wolves. For this shepherding is far more marvelous than that among us.
60:126
And it seems to me that He hints also at the blind man.
60:127
For that man too He led forth, calling him out from the midst of the Jews; and he heard His voice, and recognized Him.
60:128
'But a stranger they will not follow, because they know not the voice of strangers.'
60:129
祂在此所指的,或是丟大和猶大之流(因為祂說,凡信從他們的,都被打散了);
Either He means here those about Theudas and Judas (for all, as many as believed on them, were scattered, He says),
60:130
or the false Christs who were afterward to deceive.
60:131
For that they might not say that He was one of those, in many ways He distinguishes Himself from them.
60:132
祂首先提出一項分別,就是本於聖經的教訓;
And first He lays down as a difference the teaching drawn from the Scriptures;
60:133
for He drew them by means of these, whereas those men did not draw them from this source.
60:134
作為第二項,就是羊的順從;
As a second, the obedience of the sheep;
60:135
因為眾人不但在祂活著時信祂,就是在祂死了以後也都信了祂;
for on Him not only while living, but even after His death, did all believe;
60:136
And a third besides these it is possible to name, no small one.
60:137
因為那些人所行的一切事,都像暴君一樣,並以叛亂為目的;
For those men acted in all things as tyrants and with a view to revolt;
60:138
but He set Himself so far from any such suspicion, that when they wished to make Him a king He fled, and when they asked whether it was lawful to give tribute to Caesar He bade them pay it, and Himself paid the didrachma.
60:139
除這些以外,祂來乃是為了羊的救恩,好叫牠們得生命,並且得的更豐盛,祂如此說;
In addition to these things, He came for the salvation of the sheep, that they might have life, and might have it more abundantly, He says;
60:140
but those men deprived them even of their present life.
60:141
他們出賣了那些託付給他們的人,就逃跑了;
And they betrayed those who were entrusted to them, and fled;
60:142
but He stood so nobly, as even to lay down His life.
60:143
他們是不情願、被迫、又逃避的,才受了他們所受的苦;
And they, unwilling and under compulsion and fleeing, suffered what they suffered;
60:144
but this One, willingly and of His own choice, endured all things.
60:145
耶穌將這比喻告訴他們;
This proverb Jesus spoke to them;
60:146
but they knew not what the things were which He was speaking to them.
60:147
And why did He speak to them obscurely? Because He wished to make them more attentive.
60:148
So then, when He had brought this about, He thereupon resolves the obscurity, speaking thus:
60:149
'If anyone enters in by Me, he shall enter in and shall go out, and shall find pasture;'
60:150
意思就是,他必安穩無懼(祂在此以「草場」指羊的食物與飼養,並權柄與治理);也就是說,他必留在裡面,無人能把他趕出去;
that is, he shall be in safety and in freedom from fear (by 'pasture' He here means the food and feeding of the sheep, and authority and lordship); that is to say, He shall abide within, and no one shall thrust him out;
60:151
which very thing came to pass in the case of the apostles, who went in and out with all boldness, as having become lords of the whole world, and no one was able to cast them out.
60:152
「凡在我以先來的,都是賊、是強盜;
'All who came are thieves and robbers;
60:153
but the sheep did not hear them.'
60:154
He is not speaking here of the prophets, as the heretics say (for the sheep did hear them, and through them believed, as many as also believed on Christ), but He speaks of Theudas and Judas and the other rebels.
60:155
另一方面,祂說「羊不聽從」這話,也是帶著稱讚的意思;
And in another sense also He said the words, 'The sheep did not hear,' by way of praise;
60:156
but nowhere does He appear praising those who disobeyed the prophets, but on the contrary rebuking and reproaching them vehemently.
60:157
Whence it is plain that the words 'They did not hear' are now spoken concerning those rebels.
60:158
'The thief comes not, except to steal and to kill and to destroy;'
60:159
which is just what happened at that time, when all were slaughtered and perished.
60:160
'But I came that they might have life, and might have it more abundantly.'
60:161
And what is more than life, tell me? The kingdom of heaven.
60:162
But He does not yet say this; rather He turns about the name of life, which was familiar to them.
60:163
'I am the good shepherd.'
60:164
Here now He discourses concerning the Passion, showing that it takes place for the salvation of the world, and that not unwillingly does He come to it.
60:165
Then He tells again the mark of the shepherd and of the hireling.
60:166
因為牧人為羊捨命;
For the shepherd lays down his own life;
60:167
but the hireling, who is not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees; and the wolf comes and snatches them.
60:168
Here He shows Himself to have power over them even as the Father does, seeing that He Himself is the shepherd, and the sheep are His own.
60:169
Do you see how in the parables He speaks more loftily, where the discourse is veiled, and gives no plain handle to His hearers? What then does this hireling do? He sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and the wolf comes and snatches them.
60:170
這正是那些人所行的;
This is what those men did;
60:171
for indeed, when He was seized, He said,
60:172
'Let these go their way,' that the word might be fulfilled, that of those whom He had given Him He lost none.
60:173
And here too it is possible to suspect a wolf understood in a spiritual sense.
60:174
For neither did He allow that one, once he had gone off, to seize the sheep.
60:175
And this one is not only a wolf, but also a lion.
60:176
For 'our adversary the devil,' he says, 'goeth about as a roaring lion.'
60:177
This same one is also a serpent and a dragon.
60:178
For 'ye shall tread upon serpents and scorpions.'
60:179
Therefore, I beseech you, let us remain feeding under the Shepherd.
60:180
And we shall remain, if we hear His voice, if we obey Him, if we do not follow after a stranger.
60:181
And what is His voice? 'Blessed are the poor in spirit;'
60:182
'blessed are the pure in heart.'
60:183
我們若行這些事,就必留在牧人之下,狼也不能進入其中;
If we do these things, we shall remain under the Shepherd, and the wolf shall not be able to get within;
60:184
but even should he come upon us, it shall be to his own hurt.
60:185
For we have a Shepherd who loves us so greatly that He even laid down His life for us.
60:186
Since therefore He is both powerful and loving, what is there to hinder us from being saved? Nothing, unless we ourselves should fall away.
60:187
And how might we fall away? Hear Him as He speaks:
60:188
'Ye cannot serve two masters, God and mammon.'
60:189
If then we serve this One, we shall not submit to the tyranny of that other.
60:190
For indeed the desire of money is bitterer than every tyranny.
60:191
因為它毫無任何快樂可言;
For it holds no pleasure at all;
60:192
反倒帶來憂慮、嫉妒、詭計、仇恨、誣告,以及對美德的無數攔阻——懶惰、放蕩、貪婪、醉酒;
but rather cares and envyings, and plots, and hatred, and false accusations, and ten thousand hindrances to virtue: sloth, licentiousness, greed, drunkenness;
60:193
things which make even free men into slaves, and worse than bought slaves; slaves not of men, but of the most grievous of the passions and diseases of the soul.
60:194
Such a man dares many things that please neither God nor men, dreading lest someone should take away from him this his dominion.
60:195
O bitter slavery and diabolical dominion!
60:196
For this most of all is the most grievous thing, that being held fast by so many evils we take pleasure in them, and embrace the chain, and dwelling in a prison full of darkness we are unwilling to come forth into the light, but bind our evils more tightly upon ourselves and delight in the disease.
60:197
Whence neither are we able to be delivered, but are in a more grievous state than those who labour in the mines, enduring the toils and the misery, yet not enjoying the fruits.
60:198
And worst of all is this, that even should someone wish to deliver us from this bitter captivity, we will not endure it, but are vexed and indignant, being disposed in this no better than madmen; nay, far more wretched than all of them, and to such a degree that we are not even willing to be freed from the madness.
60:199
人哪,你被帶進這世界,難道是為了這個嗎?你成為人,難道是為了在這些礦坑做工、積聚金子嗎?祂按自己的形像造你,並不是為了這些事;
Wast thou then brought into this world for this, O man? Wast thou then made a man for this, that thou shouldest labour at these mines and gather gold? Not for these things did He fashion thee after His image;
60:200
but that thou shouldest please Him, that thou shouldest attain the things to come, that thou shouldest join the choir with the angels.
60:201
你為何把自己從這樣的親屬關係中拋棄出去,把自己推入極度的羞辱與卑賤之中?那與你經歷同樣產難的人——我所說的是屬靈的產難——正因飢餓而喪命;
Why then dost thou cast thyself out from such kinship, and thrust thyself down to the utmost dishonour and baseness? He who was delivered of the same birth-pangs as thou—and I mean the spiritual birth-pangs—is perishing of hunger;
60:202
while thou art bursting from surfeit.
60:203
Thy brother goes about naked in body, while thou providest garments even for thy garments, storing up such a covering for the moths.
60:204
And how much better it were to clothe the bodies of the poor!
60:205
For thus they would have remained unconsumed, and would have freed thee from all anxiety, and would have procured for thee the life to come.
60:206
因為你若不願這些衣物被蟲蛀壞,就把它們分給貧窮人;
For if thou dost not wish these things to become moth-eaten, give them to the poor;
60:207
for those are the ones who know how to shake out these garments well.
60:208
For indeed the body of Christ is more precious and more secure than any coffer.
60:209
For it not only preserves the garments, nor merely keeps them unconsumed, but also makes them more resplendent.
60:210
那箱櫃常常連同衣服一同被人奪去,使你陷入極大的損失;
The coffer, often seized together with the garments, has enveloped thee in the uttermost loss;
60:211
but this safekeeping not even death can harm.
60:212
因為在這裡我們無需門戶與門閂;
For here we have no need of doors and bolts;
60:213
no need of servants keeping watch, nor of any other such security.
60:214
因為它脫離了一切的陰謀,那些財物被安放並得妥善保守;
For it is delivered from every plot, and the things are laid up and kept safe;
60:215
as is fitting for the things that are laid up in the heavens.
60:216
For that place is inaccessible to all wickedness.
60:217
These things neither do we ever cease from speaking, nor are ye persuaded by hearing them.
60:218
And the cause is this: that we are of a paltry soul, gaping toward the earth, and dragged along the ground.
60:219
Yet rather, God forbid that we should condemn you all of wickedness, as though all were incurably diseased.
60:220
For even if those drunken with wealth stop their ears against the things spoken, yet those who live with poverty will be able to look clearly toward the things spoken.
60:221
And what have these things to do with the poor? one says; for they have no gold, nor so many garments, he says.
60:222
但他們有餅,也有涼水;
But there is bread for them, and cold water;
60:223
他們有兩個小錢,也有雙腳,可以去探望患病的人;
but there are two mites, and feet, so as to visit the sick;
60:224
他們有舌頭和言語,可以安慰遭患難的人;
but there is a tongue and speech, so as to comfort the afflicted;
60:225
but there is a house and a roof, so as to make the stranger a sharer of one's dwelling.
60:226
我們向貧窮人所要求的不過是這些;
So much and so much do we require of the poor;
60:227
but those other things are from the wealthy.
60:228
但若有人貧窮,甚至前去叩別人的門,我們的主也不以收下區區一個小錢為恥;
But if anyone should be poor and even come to the doors of others, our Master is not ashamed to receive even a single mite;
60:229
nay, He will declare that He has received from him more than from those who have cast in much.
60:230
How many of those now standing here have prayed to have lived in that season in which Christ went about the earth in the flesh, so as to become sharers of His table and fellow-guests with Him? Behold, now it is possible for this to come to pass, and rather to invite Him to a meal and to feast with Him, and that with greater gain.
60:231
因為當時與祂同席的人中,有許多甚至滅亡了,猶大就是這樣,還有其他同類的人;
For of those who then feasted with Him, many even perished, such as Judas was, and others of like sort;
60:232
but of those who now invite Him each into his own house, and share with Him table and roof, each shall enjoy a great blessing.
60:233
'For come,' He says, 'ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.'
60:234
「因為我餓了,你們給我吃;
'For I was hungry, and ye gave Me to eat;'
60:235
我渴了,你們給我喝;
'I was thirsty, and ye gave Me to drink;'
60:236
我作客旅,你們留我住;
'I was a stranger, and ye took Me in;'
60:237
我病了,你們看顧我;
'I was sick, and ye visited Me;'
60:238
'I was in prison, and ye came unto Me.'
60:239
所以,為要聽見這些話語,讓我們給赤身的人穿衣、接待客旅、餵養飢餓的人、給口渴的人喝、探望患病的人、看顧在監裡的人,好使我們得享坦然無懼,並領受罪的赦免,得以有份於那些超乎言語與心思的美善之事;
In order therefore that we may hear these words, let us clothe the naked, take in the stranger, feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, visit the sick, look upon him who is in prison, that we may enjoy boldness, and receive forgiveness of sins, and partake of those good things which surpass both speech and mind;
60:240
which may it be granted us all to attain, by the grace and lovingkindness of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the might unto the ages of ages. Amen.
