መዋቲ ፡ ዘይትለወድ ፡ አምእንስት ፡ ዘኅዳጥ ፡ መዋዕሊሁ ፡ ወምሉአ ፡ መቅሠፍተ ፡ መዓቱ ።
“Man, who is born of a woman, is of few days, and full of trouble.
人為婦人所生， 日子短少，多有患難；
14:2▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወይፈሬ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጽጌ ፡ ወይወድቅ ፡ ወየኃልፍ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጽላሎች ፡ ወኢይሄሉ ፡ እንከ ።
He grows up like a flower, and is cut down. He also flees like a shadow, and doesn’t continue.
出來如花，又被割下， 飛去如影，不能存留。
14:3▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ለዝኒ ፡ አንተ ፡ ሐተትኮ ፡ ወሎቱ ፡ አባእኮ ፡ ድቅሜክ ፡ ይትዋቀሥ ።
Do you open your eyes on such a one, and bring me into judgment with you?
這樣的人你豈睜眼看他嗎？ 又叫我來受審嗎？
14:4▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወመኑ ፡ ይነጽሕ ፡ እምርስሐት ፡ ወኢመኑሂ ፡ ወዘአሐተ ፡ ሰዓተ ፡ ሐይወ ፡ በዲበ ፡ ምድር ፡፡ 5፡ እስመ ፡ ኁሉቊ ፡ አውራኂሁ ፡ በኅቤከ ፡ ወትሁቦ ፡ ዕድሜሁ ፡ ወኢየኃልፍ ፡ አምኔሁ ።
Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.
誰能使潔淨之物出於污穢之中呢？ 無論誰也不能！
14:6▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ረኃቅ ፡ እምኔሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያፅርፍ ፡ ወይትዓቀባ ፡ ለሕይወቱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዓሳብ ።
Look away from him, that he may rest, until he accomplishes, as a hireling, his day.
便求你轉眼不看他，使他得歇息， 直等他像雇工人完畢他的日子。
14:7▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ለፅዕኒ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ተስፋ ፡ ተገዚሞ ፡ ዳግመ ፡ ይፈሪ ፡ ወይሠርዕ ፡ ወኃይሉሂ ፡ ኢየኃልቅ ።
“For there is hope for a tree if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, that the tender branch of it will not cease.
樹若被砍下， 還可指望發芽， 嫩枝生長不息；
14:8▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወእመሂ ፡ ረስቦ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ሥርው ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ሞተ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ኰኵሕ ፡ አዕዑቂሁ ፡ እመአዛ ፡ ማይ ፡ ይሠርዕ ፡ ወይፈሪ ፡ ከመ ፡ ተክል ፡ ሐዲስ ።
Though its root grows old in the earth, and its stock dies in the ground,
其根雖然衰老在地裏， 幹也死在土中，
14:9▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሰብእሰ ፡ እምከመ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ይጸይፅ ፡ ወእምከመ ፡ ሞተ ፡ መዋቲ ፡ ኢይሄሎ ፡ እንከ ፡፡ 10፡ ለባሕርኒ ፡ ቦ ፡ ተስፋ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ይቀብል ፡ ወፈለግኒ ፡ ይነጽፍ ፡ ወይየብስ ።
yet through the scent of water it will bud, and sprout boughs like a plant.
及至得了水氣，還要發芽， 又長枝條，像新栽的樹一樣。
14:11▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሰብእሰ ፡ አምከመ ፡ ኖመ ፡ ኢይነቅሕ ፡ እንከ ፡ እስከ ፡ አመ ፡ የኃልፍ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ወይነቅሑ ፡ እምንዋሞሙ ።
As the waters fail from the sea, and the river wastes and dries up,
海中的水絕盡， 江河消散乾涸。
14:12▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
እምኅየሰኒ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መቃብር ፡ ዓቀብከኒ ፡ ወእምኃባ ፡ አከኒ ፡ እስከ ፡ ወእምኃባ ፡ አከኒ ፡ ይቈርር ፡ መዓትከ ፡ ወእምቀብከኒ ፡ አስከ ፡ አመትዜከረኒ ።
so man lies down and doesn’t rise. Until the heavens are no more, they will not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.
人也是如此，躺下不再起來， 等到天沒有了，仍不得復醒， 也不得從睡中喚醒。
14:13▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሶበሁ ፡ የሐዩ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ እምከመ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ፈጺሞ ፡ መዋፅለ ፡ ሕይወቱ ፡ እምተዓገሥኩ ፡ እስከ ፡ አመ ፡ እትወለድ ፡ ዳግመ ።
“Oh that you would hide me in Sheol, that you would keep me secret until your wrath is past, that you would appoint me a set time and remember me!
惟願你把我藏在陰間， 存於隱密處，等你的忿怒過去； 願你為我定了日期，記念我。
14:14▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወእምአውሣእኩስ ፡ ጊዜ ፡ ጸዋፅከኒ ፡ ወኢትመንነኒ ፡ ግብረ ፡ እደዊከ ፡፡ 15፡ ኈለቈኑ ፡ ኃጣውእየ ፡ ወአበሳየ ፡ አሐተኔ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ዘረሳዕክ ፡ ሊተ ፡ ኃጢአትየ ፡ ወአበሳየ ።
If a man dies, will he live again? I would wait all the days of my warfare, until my release should come.
人若死了豈能再活呢？ 我只要在我一切爭戰的日子， 等我被釋放 的時候來到。
14:16▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወኅተምከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቊናማቲክ ፡ ጌጋይየ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ዘአበስኩ ፡ በላዕሌከ ።
But now you count my steps. Don’t you watch over my sin?
但如今你數點我的腳步， 豈不窺察我的罪過嗎？
14:17▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ከመ ፡ ደብር ፡ ዘንሀለ ፡ ወዉድቀ ፡ ወኰኵሕኒ ፡ ይበሊ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ምንባሩ ።
My disobedience is sealed up in a bag. You fasten up my iniquity.
我的過犯被你封在囊中， 也縫嚴了我的罪孽。
14:18▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወእብንኒ ፡ ይለምጽ ፡ እማይ ፡ ወማይሂ ፡ ይደፈን ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ምድር ፡ ልዑል ፡ ወአኅጐልከ ፡ ትዕግሥቶ ፡ ለሰብእ ፡፡ 19፡ ወታአትቶ ፡ ለዝሉፋ ፡ ወይማን ፡ ወሜጥከ ፡ ገጻከ ፡ ኅቤሁ ፡ ወመሠጥኮ ።
“But the mountain falling comes to nothing. The rock is removed out of its place.
山崩變為無有； 磐石挪開原處。
14:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወእመሄ ፡ በዝኑ ፡ ይቂቁ ፡ ኢይሬእዮሙ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ኅዳጣን ፡ ኢየእምሮሙ ።
You forever prevail against him, and he departs. You change his face, and send him away.
你攻擊人常常得勝，使他去世； 你改變他的容貌，叫他往而不回。
14:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዳእሙ ፡ ሥጋሁ ፡ ይማስን ፡ ወነፍሱስ ፡ ለሕይወት ።
His sons come to honor, and he doesn’t know it. They are brought low, but he doesn’t perceive it of them.
他兒子得尊榮，他也不知道， 降為卑，他也不覺得。
