15:1
Qui timet Deum faciet bona, et qui continens est justitiæ apprehendet illam :
He that fears the Lord will do this; And he that has possession of the law will obtain her.
敬畏主的人必行這事，持守律法的人必得著她。
15:2
et obviabit illi quasi mater honorificata, et quasi mulier a virginitate suscipiet illum.
And as a mother shall she meet him, And receive him as a wife married in her virginity.
她必如母親迎接他，又如貞潔的新婦接納他。
15:3
Cibabit illum pane vitæ et intellectus, et aqua sapientiæ salutaris potabit illum : et firmabitur in illo, et non flectetur :
With bread of understanding will she feed him, And give him water of wisdom to drink.
她必以見識的餅餵養他，給他智慧的水喝。
15:4
et continebit illum, et non confundetur : et exaltabit illum apud proximos suos,
He will be stayed upon her, and will not be moved; And will rely upon her, and will not be confounded.
他必倚靠她，總不動搖；倚賴她，總不蒙羞。
15:5
et in medio ecclesiæ aperiet os ejus, et adimplebit illum spiritu sapientiæ et intellectus, et stola gloriæ vestiet illum.
And she will exalt him above his neighbors; And in the midst of the congregation will she open his mouth.
她必使他高升在鄰舍之上，在會眾之中開他的口。
15:6
Jucunditatem et exsultationem thesaurizabit super illum, et nomine æterno hæreditabit illum.
He will inherit joy, and a crown of gladness, And an everlasting name.
他必承受喜樂、歡騰的冠冕，並永遠的名。
15:7
Homines stulti non apprehendent illam, et homines sensati obviabunt illi. Homines stulti non videbunt eam : longe enim abest a superbia et dolo.
Foolish men will not obtain her; And sinners will not see her.
愚昧的人不能得著她，罪人也不能看見她。
15:8
Viri mendaces non erunt illius memores : et viri veraces invenientur in illa, et successum habebunt usque ad inspectionem Dei.
She is far from pride; And liars will not remember her.
她遠離驕傲，說謊的人也必不記念她。
15:9
Non est speciosa laus in ore peccatoris,
Praise is not comely in the mouth of a sinner; For it was not sent him from the Lord.
頌讚在罪人口中並不相宜，因為這頌讚不是主所賜的。
15:10
quoniam a Deo profecta est sapientia. Sapientiæ enim Dei astabit laus, et in ore fideli abundabit, et Dominator dabit eam illi.
For praise will be spoken in wisdom; And the Lord will prosper it.
因為頌讚要在智慧中發出，主也必使它亨通。
15:11
Non dixeris : Per Deum abest : quæ enim odit ne feceris.
Say not you, It is through the Lord that I fell away; For you shall not do the things that he hates.
不要說：『是主使我背道的。』因為他所恨惡的事，你不可去行。
15:12
Non dicas : Ille me implanavit : non enim necessarii sunt ei homines impii.
Say not you, It is he that caused me to err; For he has no need of a sinful man.
不要說：『是他使我迷失的。』因為他不需要罪人。
15:13
Omne execramentum erroris odit Dominus, et non erit amabile timentibus eum.
The Lord hates every abomination; And those who fear him love it not.
主憎惡一切可憎之事，敬畏他的人也不喜愛這事。
15:14
Deus ab initio constituit hominem, et reliquit illum in manu consilii sui :
He himself made man from the beginning, And left him in the hand of his own counsel.
他從起初造了人，便將他交在自己抉擇的手中。
15:15
adjecit mandata et præcepta sua.
If you will, you shall keep the commandments; And to perform faithfulness is of your own good pleasure.
你若願意，就能遵守誡命；守住信實，全在乎你的甘心樂意。
15:16
Si volueris mandata servare, conservabunt te, et in perpetuum fidem placitam facere.
He has set fire and water before you: You will stretch forth your hand to whichever you will.
他在你面前擺設火與水，你願意伸手取哪樣都可以。
15:17
Apposuit tibi aquam et ignem, ad quod volueris porrige manum tuam.
Before man is life and death; And whichever he likes, it shall be given him.
在人面前有生與死，他喜悅哪樣，就賜給他哪樣。
15:18
Ante hominem vita et mors, bonum et malum : quod placuerit ei dabitur illi :
For great is the wisdom of the Lord: He is mighty in power, and sees all things;
因為主的智慧浩大，他大有能力，鑒察萬事。
15:19
quoniam multa sapientia Dei, et fortis in potentia, videns omnes sine intermissione.
And his eyes are upon those who fear him; And he will take knowledge of every work of man.
他的眼目看顧敬畏他的人，他洞悉人的一切作為。
15:20
Oculi Domini ad timentes eum, et ipse agnoscit omnem operam hominis.
He has not commanded any man to be ungodly; And he has not given any man licence to sin.
他從未吩咐人作惡，也未許可任何人犯罪。
