50:1
Simon , Oniæ filius , sacerdos magnus , qui in vita sua suffulsit domum , et in diebus suis corroboravit templum .
It was Simon, the son of Onias, the great priest, Who in his life repaired the house, And in his days strengthened the temple:
阿尼亞的兒子大祭司西門，他活著的時候修補了殿宇，在他的日子堅固了聖殿。
50:2
Templi etiam altitudo ab ipso fundata est , duplex ædificatio , et excelsi parietes templi .
And by him was built from the foundation the height of the double wall, The lofty underworks of the inclosure of the temple:
那雙層牆的高處是由他奠基的，就是聖殿圍牆高聳的基墩。
50:3
In diebus ipsius emanaverunt putei aquarum , et quasi mare adimpleti sunt supra modum .
In his days the cistern of waters was diminished, The brazen vessel in compass as the sea.
在他的日子，鑿出了蓄水的池子，那池的周圍大如海。
50:4
Qui curavit gentem suam , et liberavit eam a perditione :
It was he that took thought for his people that they should not fall, And fortified the city against besieging:
他顧念自己的百姓，免他們傾倒，又在圍困中加固城邑。
50:5
qui prævaluit amplificare civitatem , qui adeptus est gloriam in conversatione gentis , et ingressum domus et atrii amplificavit .
How glorious was he when the people gathered round him At his coming forth out of the sanctuary!
當他從聖所幔幕內出來、被百姓環繞的時候，何等的榮耀！
50:6
Quasi stella matutina in medio nebulæ , et quasi luna plena , in diebus suis lucet :
As the morning star in the midst of a cloud, As the moon at the full:
如同雲中的晨星，如同月圓之時的明月，
50:7
et quasi sol refulgens , sic ille effulsit in templo Dei .
As the sun shining forth upon the temple of the Most High, And as the rainbow giving light in clouds of glory:
如同照耀至高者聖殿的太陽，如同在榮耀雲彩中發光的虹，
50:8
Quasi arcus refulgens inter nebulas gloriæ , et quasi flos rosarum in diebus vernis , et quasi lilia quæ sunt in transitu aquæ , et quasi thus redolens in diebus æstatis :
As the flower of roses in the days of new fruits, As lilies at the waterspring, As the shoot of the frankencense tree in the time of summer:
如同初熟時節的玫瑰花，如同水泉旁的百合花，如同夏日黎巴嫩樹木的嫩枝，
50:9
quasi ignis effulgens , et thus ardens in igne :
As fire and incense in the censer, As a vessel all of beaten gold Adorned with all manner of precious stones:
如同香爐中的火與乳香，如同精金打成、鑲嵌各樣寶石的器皿，
50:10
quasi vas auri solidum , ornatum omni lapide pretioso :
As an olive tree budding forth fruits, And as a cypress growing high among the clouds.
如同結滿果子的橄欖樹，又如高聳入雲的柏樹。
50:11
quasi oliva pullulans , et cypressus in altitudinem se extollens , in accipiendo ipsum stolam gloriæ , et vestiri eum in consummationem virtutis .
When he took up the robe of glory, And put on the perfection of exultation, In the ascent of the holy altar, He made glorious the precinct of the sanctuary.
當他披上榮耀的禮服、穿上至尊的華服、登上聖壇之時，他使聖所周圍顯出榮光。
50:12
In ascensu altaris sancti gloriam dedit sanctitatis amictum .
And when he received the portions out of the priests’ hands, Himself also standing by the hearth of the altar, His kindred as a garland round about him, He was as a young cedar in Libanus; And as stems of palm trees compassed they him round about,
當他從祭司們手中接過祭物的份、自己站在祭壇火爐旁時，他的弟兄如冠冕環繞著他，好像黎巴嫩的香柏樹苗；他們圍繞著他，如同棕樹的幹。
50:13
In accipiendo autem partes de manu sacerdotum , et ipse stans juxta aram : et circa illum corona fratrum : quasi plantatio cedri in monte Libano ,
And all the sons of Aaron in their glory, And the Lord’s offering in their hands, before all the congregation of Israel.
亞倫的眾子也在他們的榮耀中，手裡拿著向主獻的供物，站在以色列全會眾面前。
50:14
sic circa illum steterunt quasi rami palmæ : et omnes filii Aaron in gloria sua .
And finishing the service at the altars, That he might adorn the offering of the Most High, the Almighty,
他在祭壇前完成了事奉，要使全能至高者的供物得以妝飾，
50:15
Oblatio autem Domini in manibus ipsorum coram omni synagoga Israël : et consummatione fungens in ara , amplificare oblationem excelsi Regis ,
He stretched out his hand to the cup, And poured out the cup of the grape; He poured out at the foot of the altar A sweet smelling savor to the Most High, the King of all.
他向奠酒的杯伸手，從葡萄汁中奠酒，把它澆在祭壇腳前，作馨香之氣獻給至高的萬王之王。
50:16
porrexit manum suam in libatione , et libavit de sanguine uvæ .
Then shouted the sons of Aaron, They sounded the trumpets of beaten work, They made a great noise to be heard, For a remembrance before the Most High.
那時亞倫的眾子大聲呼喊，吹起錘成的號角，發出宏亮的聲音，在至高者面前作記念。
50:17
Effudit in fundamento altaris odorem divinum excelso Principi .
Then all the people together hurried, And fell down upon the earth on their faces To worship their Lord, the Almighty, God Most High.
於是全體百姓一同急忙俯伏在地，敬拜他們的主，就是全能的至高神。
50:18
Tunc exclamaverunt filii Aaron , in tubis productilibus sonuerunt : et auditam fecerunt vocem magnam in memoriam coram Deo .
The singers also praised him with their voices; In the whole house was there made sweet melody.
歌唱的人也用聲音讚美祂，在宏大的響聲中發出甘美的歌調。
50:19
Tunc omnis populus simul properaverunt , et ceciderunt in faciem super terram , adorare Dominum Deum suum , et dare preces omnipotenti Deo excelso .
And the people implored the Lord Most High, In prayer before him that is merciful. Till the worship of the Lord should be ended; And so they accomplished his service.
百姓向至高的主祈求，在那有憐憫者面前禱告，直到主的敬拜完畢，他們就完成了事奉。
50:20
Et amplificaverunt psallentes in vocibus suis , et in magna domo auctus est sonus suavitatis plenus .
Then he went down, and lifted up his hands Over the whole congregation of the children of Israel, To give blessing to the Lord with his lips, And to glory in his name.
於是他下來，向以色列眾子的全會眾舉手，用口奉主的名給他們祝福，又以祂的名為誇耀。
50:21
Et rogavit populus Dominum excelsum in prece , usque dum perfectus est honor Domini , et munus suum perfecerunt .
And he bowed himself down in worship the second time, To declare the blessing from the Most High.
百姓再次俯伏敬拜，要領受從至高者而來的祝福。
50:22
Tunc descendens , manus suas extulit in omne congregationem filiorum Israël , dare gloriam Deo a labiis suis , et in nomine ipsius gloriari :
And now bless you⌃ the God of all, Which everywhere does great things, Which exalts our days from the womb, And deals with us according to his mercy.
如今你們要稱頌那萬有的神，就是那處處行大事的，從母腹起高舉我們的年日，又照祂的憐憫待我們的。
50:23
et iteravit orationem suam , volens ostendere virtutem Dei .
May he grant us joyfulness of heart, And that peace may be in our days in Israel for the days of eternity:
願祂賜我們心中的喜樂，使我們的日子在以色列中得享平安，如同亙古的日子；
50:24
Et nunc orate Deum omnium , qui magna fecit in omni terra , qui auxit dies nostros a ventre matris nostræ , et fecit nobiscum secundum suam misericordiam :
To intrust his mercy with us; And let him deliver us in his time!
願祂把祂的憐憫託付與我們，在我們的日子救贖我們。
50:25
det nobis jucunditatem cordis , et fieri pacem in diebus nostris in Israël per dies sempiternos :
With two nations is my soul vexed, And the third is no nation:
我的心厭惡兩個國民，第三個更算不得國民：
50:26
credere Israël nobiscum esse Dei misericordiam , ut liberet nos in diebus suis .
They that sit upon the mountain of Samaria, and the Philistines, And that foolish people that dwells in Sichem.
就是住在撒瑪利亞山地的人，和非利士人，並住在示劍那愚昧的民。
50:27
Duas gentes odit anima mea : tertia autem non est gens quam oderim :
I have written in this book the instruction of understanding and knowledge, I Jesus, the son of Sirach Eleazar, of Jerusalem, Who out of his heart poured forth wisdom.
耶路撒冷人、以利亞撒之子西拉的兒子耶數，把這聰明與知識的教訓記在這書上；他從自己心中如雨般傾倒出智慧。
50:28
qui sedent in monte Seir , et Philisthiim , et stultus populus qui habitat in Sichimis .
Blessed is he that shall be exercised in these things; And he that lays them up in his heart shall become wise.
凡操練這些事的人有福了；把這些放在心上的人，必成為智慧人。
50:29
Doctrinam sapientiæ et disciplinæ scripsit in codice isto Jesus , filius Sirach , Jerosolymita , qui renovavit sapientiam de corde suo .
For if he do them, he shall be strong to all things: For the light of the Lord is his guide.
因為他若遵行這些事，凡事都必有力量；因為主的光是他的引導。
