ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And the child Samouel was ministering to the Lord before Eli the priest. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no distinguishing vision.
And the Lord called Samouel again, Samouel! And he went to Eli a second time and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he said, I did not call you; go back and sleep.
And the Lord called Samouel yet a third time. And he rose and went to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And Eli understood that it was the Lord who was calling the child.
And he said, Go back and sleep, my child; and it shall be, if he calls you, then you shall say, Speak, Lord, for your slave is listening. And Samouel went and lay down in his place.
And I have declared to him that I am punishing his house forever for the iniquities of his sons, because his sons were speaking evil of God, and he did not admonish them—not even so.
And Samouel slept until morning, and he rose early in the morning and opened the doors of the house of the Lord. And Samouel was afraid to report the vision to Eli.
And he said, What is the word that was spoken to you? Do not hide it from me. May God do so to you, and more also, if you hide from me any word out of all the words that were spoken to you in your ears.
And the Lord continued to be made manifest in Selom, for the Lord was revealed to Samouel; and Samouel was trusted to become a prophet to the Lord for all Israel, from one end of the earth to the other. And Eli was very old, and his sons kept going on in their way, and their way was evil before the Lord.
