ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

29:1
And the Philistines gather all their camps to Aphek; and Israel encamped in Aendor, which is in Iezrael.
And the satraps of the Philistines were passing by in hundreds and in thousands; and David and his men were passing by in the rear with Anchous.
And the satraps of the Philistines said, Who are these that are passing through? And Anchous said to the commanders of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul king of Israel? He has been with us days—this is the second year—and I have found nothing in him from the day he fell in with me until this day.
And the commanders of the Philistines were displeased with him, and they say to him, Send the man back to his place, where you appointed him, and let him not come with us to the war, and let him not become a plotter against the camp. And with what shall this man be reconciled to his lord? Is it not with the heads of those men?
Is not this David, for whom they led the singing in the dances, saying, Saul struck down among his thousands, and David among his ten thousands?
And Anchous called David and said to him, As the Lord lives, you are upright and good in my eyes, and so is your going out and your coming in with me in the camp; and because I have not found evil against you from the day you came to me until this present day. But in the eyes of the satraps you are not good.
And now return and go in peace, and you shall not do evil in the eyes of the satraps of the Philistines.
And David said to Anchous, What have I done to you, and what have you found in your servant from the day I was before you until this day, that I may not go to fight the enemies of my lord the king?
And Anchous answered David, I know that you are good in my eyes; but the satraps of the Philistines say, He shall not go with us to war.
And now rise early in the morning, you and the servants of your lord who have come with you, and go to the place where I appointed you; and do not put a pestilent word in your heart, for you are good before me. And rise early on the way, and let it grow light for you, and go.
And David rose early, he and his men, to depart and to guard the land of the Philistines; and the Philistines went up to make war against Israel.
