14:1

ወነግሠ፡ አሣ፡ ወልዱ፡ እምድኅሬሁ፡ ወበመዋዕሊሁ፡ ለአሣ፡ ሀድአት፡ ወአርመመት፡ ምድረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ዓሠርተ፡ ዓመተ።

亞比雅與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城裏。他兒子亞撒接續他作王。亞撒年間，國中太平十年。

So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in David’s city; and Asa his son reigned in his place. In his days, the land was quiet ten years.

14:2

ወገብረ፡ ሠናየ፡ ወረትዐ፡ በቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላኩ።

亞撒行耶和華－他上帝眼中看為善為正的事，

Asa did that which was good and right in Yahweh his God’s eyes,

14:3

ወነሠተ፡ ቤተ፡ ምሥዋዐ፡ ነኪር፡ ወዘአውግር፡ ወቀጥቀጠ፡ ኵሎ፡ ግልፎሆሙ፡ ወገዘመ፡ ኵሎ፡ አእዋሚሆሙ።

除掉外邦神的壇和邱壇，打碎柱像，砍下木偶，

for he took away the foreign altars and the high places, broke down the pillars, cut down the Asherah poles,

14:4

ወይቤሎሙ፡ ለሕዝበ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ከመ፡ ይኅሥሥዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ አበዊሆሙ፡ ወከመ፡ ይግበሩ፡ ሕገ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወትእዛዛቲሁ።

吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華－他們列祖的上帝，遵行他的律法、誡命；

and commanded Judah to seek Yahweh, the God of their fathers, and to obey his law and command.

14:5

ወአግኃሠ፡ ወነሠተ፡ እምኵሉ፡ አህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ኵሎ፡ አብያተ፡ መሥዋዕት፡ ዘነኪር፡ ወግልፎሆሙ፡ ወነበራ፡ በሰላም፡ ኵሎን፡ አህጉር፡ ጽኑዓት፡ ወምድረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ እስመ፡ አርመመት፡ ምድር፡ ወአዕረፈት።

又在猶大各城邑除掉邱壇和日像，那時國享太平；

Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun images; and the kingdom was quiet before him.

14:6

ወአልቦ፡ ዘይትቃተሎሙ፡ በውእቱ፡ መዋዕል፡ እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አዕረፎሙ።

又在猶大建造了幾座堅固城。國中太平數年，沒有戰爭，因為耶和華賜他平安。

He built fortified cities in Judah; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years, because Yahweh had given him rest.

14:7

ወይቤሎሙ፡ ለሕዝበ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ንሕንጽ፡ እላንተ፡ አህጉረ፡ ወንግበር፡ ሎቶን፡ አረፋተ፡ ወማኅፈደ፡ ወአናቅጸ፡ ወመናግሥተ፡ እለ፡ ቦሙ፡ ንሰፍና፡ ለምድር፡ እስመ፡ በከመ፡ ኃሠሥናሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አምላክነ፡ ውእቱኒ፡ ኃሠሠነ፡ ወአዕረፈነ፡ እምዓውድነ፡ ወተመጠወነ።

他對猶大人說：「我們要建造這些城邑，四圍築牆，蓋樓，安門，做閂；地還屬我們，是因尋求耶和華－我們的上帝；我們既尋求他，他就賜我們四境平安。」於是建造城邑，諸事亨通。

For he said to Judah, “Let’s build these cities and make walls around them, with towers, gates, and bars. The land is yet before us, because we have sought Yahweh our God. We have sought him, and he has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.

14:8

ወኮኑ፡ ሎቱ፡ ለአሣ፡ ሠራዊት፡ ጽኑዓን፡ ወመስተቃትላን፡ እለ፡ ይክሉ፡ ፀዊረ፡ ወልታ፡ ወኲናት፡ በምድረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ሠላሳ፡ እልፍ፡ ወበምድረ፡ ብንያም፡ ወጻፍያን፡ ወነዳፍያን፡ ዕሥራ፡ ወኃምስቱ፡ እልፍ፡ እሉ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እደው፡ ጸናፅት፡ ወመስተቃትላን።

亞撒的軍兵，出自猶大拿盾牌拿槍的三十萬人；出自便雅憫拿盾牌拉弓的二十八萬人。這都是大能的勇士。

Asa had an army of three hundred thousand out of Judah who bore bucklers and spears, and two hundred eighty thousand out of Benjamin who bore shields and drew bows. All these were mighty men of valor.

14:9

ወወፅአ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ ዝሪ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ኢትዮጵያ፡ በሠራዊት፡ ጽኑዓን፡ በምእት፡ እልፍ፡ ወበሠለስቱ፡ ምእት፡ ሠረገላት፡ ወበጽሀሐ፡ እስከ፡ ብሔረ፡ ማሬሳ።

有古實王謝拉率領軍兵一百萬，戰車三百輛，出來攻擊猶大人，到了瑪利沙。

Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million troops and three hundred chariots, and he came to Mareshah.
