8:1
Numquid non sapientia clamitat, et prudentia dat vocem suam ?
智慧豈不呼叫? 聰明豈不發聲?
Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?
8:2
In summis excelsisque verticibus supra viam, in mediis semitis stans,
她在道旁高處的頂上, 在十字路口站立,
On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.
8:3
juxta portas civitatis, in ipsis foribus loquitur, dicens :
在城門旁,在城門口, 在城門洞,大聲說:
Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:
8:4
O viri, ad vos clamito, et vox mea ad filios hominum.
眾人哪,我呼叫你們, 我向世人發聲。
“I call to you men! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.
8:5
Intelligite, parvuli, astutiam, et insipientes, animadvertite.
說:愚蒙人哪,你們要會悟靈明; 愚昧人哪,你們當心裏明白。
You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!
8:6
Audite, quoniam de rebus magnis locutura sum, et aperientur labia mea ut recta praedicent.
你們當聽,因我要說極美的話; 我張嘴要論正直的事。
Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.
8:7
Veritatem meditabitur guttur meum, et labia mea detestabuntur impium.
我的口要發出真理; 我的嘴憎惡邪惡。
For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8:8
Justi sunt omnes sermones mei : non est in eis pravum quid, neque perversum ;
我口中的言語都是公義, 並無彎曲乖僻。
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.
8:9
recti sunt intelligentibus, et aequi invenientibus scientiam.
有聰明的,以為明顯, 得知識的,以為正直。
They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.
8:10
Accipite disciplinam meam, et non pecuniam ; doctrinam magis quam aurum eligite :
你們當受我的教訓,不受白銀; 寧得知識,勝過黃金。
Receive my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than choice gold.
8:11
melior est enim sapientia cunctis pretiosissimis, et omne desiderabile ei non potest comparari.
因為智慧比珍珠 更美; 一切可喜愛的都不足與比較。
For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.
8:12
Ego sapientia, habito in consilio, et eruditis intersum cogitationibus.
我-智慧以靈明為居所, 又尋得知識和謀略。
“I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.
8:13
Timor Domini odit malum : arrogantiam, et superbiam, et viam pravam, et os bilingue, detestor.
敬畏耶和華在乎恨惡邪惡; 那驕傲、狂妄,並惡道, 以及乖謬的口,都為我所恨惡。
The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.
8:14
Meum est consilium et aequitas ; mea est prudentia, mea est fortitudo.
我有謀略和真知識; 我乃聰明,我有能力。
Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.
8:15
Per me reges regnant, et legum conditores justa decernunt ;
帝王藉我坐國位; 君王藉我定公平。
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
8:16
per me principes imperant, et potentes decernunt justitiam.
王子和首領, 世上一切的審判官,都是藉我掌權。
By me princes rule, nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.
8:17
Ego diligentes me diligo, et qui mane vigilant ad me, invenient me.
愛我的,我也愛他; 懇切尋求我的,必尋得見。
I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.
8:18
Mecum sunt divitiae et gloria, opes superbae et justitia.
豐富尊榮在我; 恆久的財並公義也在我。
With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.
8:19
Melior est enim fructus meus auro et lapide pretioso, et genimina mea argento electo.
我的果實勝過黃金,強如精金; 我的出產超乎高銀。
My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, my yield than choice silver.
8:20
In viis justitiae ambulo, in medio semitarum judicii :
我在公義的道上走, 在公平的路中行,
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the middle of the paths of justice,
8:21
ut ditem diligentes me, et thesauros eorum repleam.
使愛我的,承受貨財, 並充滿他們的府庫。
that I may give wealth to those who love me. I fill their treasuries.
8:22
Dominus possedit me in initio viarum suarum antequam quidquam faceret a principio.
在耶和華造化的起頭, 在太初創造萬物之先,就有了我。
“Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old.
8:23
Ab aeterno ordinata sum, et ex antiquis antequam terra fieret.
從亙古,從太初, 未有世界以前,我已被立。
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed.
8:24
Nondum erant abyssi, et ego jam concepta eram : necdum fontes aquarum eruperant,
沒有深淵, 沒有大水的泉源,我已生出。
When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water.
8:25
necdum montes gravi mole constiterant : ante colles ego parturiebar.
大山未曾奠定, 小山未有之先,我已生出。
Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born;
8:26
Adhuc terram non fecerat, et flumina, et cardines orbis terrae.
耶和華還沒有創造大地和田野, 並世上的土質,我已生出。
while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
8:27
Quando praeparabat caelos, aderam ; quando certa lege et gyro vallabat abyssos ;
他立高天,我在那裏; 他在淵面的周圍,劃出圓圈。
When he established the heavens, I was there. When he set a circle on the surface of the deep,
8:28
quando aethera firmabat sursum, et librabat fontes aquarum ;
上使穹蒼堅硬, 下使淵源穩固,
when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong,
8:29
quando circumdabat mari terminum suum, et legem ponebat aquis, ne transirent fines suos ; quando appendebat fundamenta terrae :
為滄海定出界限,使水不越過他的命令, 立定大地的根基。
when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
8:30
cum eo eram, cuncta componens. Et delectabar per singulos dies, ludens coram eo omni tempore,
那時,我在他那裏為工師, 日日為他所喜愛, 常常在他面前踴躍,
then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,
8:31
ludens in orbe terrarum ; et deliciae meae esse cum filiis hominum.
踴躍在他為人預備可住之地, 也喜悅住在世人之間。
rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.
8:32
Nunc ergo, filii, audite me : beati qui custodiunt vias meas.
眾子啊,現在要聽從我, 因為謹守我道的,便為有福。
“Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.
8:33
Audite disciplinam, et estote sapientes, et nolite abjicere eam.
要聽教訓就得智慧, 不可棄絕。
Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it.
8:34
Beatus homo qui audit me, et qui vigilat ad fores meas quotidie, et observat ad postes ostii mei.
聽從我、日日在我門口仰望、 在我門框旁邊等候的,那人便為有福。
Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.
8:35
Qui me invenerit, inveniet vitam, et hauriet salutem a Domino.
因為尋得我的,就尋得生命, 也必蒙耶和華的恩惠。
For whoever finds me finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh.
8:36
Qui autem in me peccaverit, laedet animam suam ; omnes qui me oderunt diligunt mortem.
得罪我的,卻害了自己的性命; 恨惡我的,都喜愛死亡。
But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death.”
