they were of their sons who were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel did not utterly destroy; and Solomon brought them up for forced labor, to this day.
But of the sons of Israel Solomon did not make servants for his kingdom, for they were men of war and rulers and mighty men and commanders of chariots and horsemen.
