ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And it happened, when Jeroboam son of Nabat heard of it — and he was in Egypt, since he had fled from the presence of Solomon the king, and Jeroboam settled in Egypt — that Jeroboam returned from Egypt.
'Your father made our yoke hard; now therefore lighten something of the hard servitude of your father and of his heavy yoke that he laid upon us, and we will serve you.'
And King Rehoboam gathered the elders who had stood before Solomon his father while he was alive, saying, 'How do you counsel me to answer a word to this people?'
And they spoke to him, saying, 'If today you become good to this people and please them and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants all the days.'
But he forsook the counsel of the elders who had counseled him, and took counsel with the young men who had been brought up with him, who stood before him.
And he said to them, 'What do you counsel, that I may answer a word to this people, who spoke to me, saying, “Lighten something of the yoke that your father laid upon us”?'
And the young men who had been brought up with him spoke to him: 'Thus you shall speak to the people that spoke to you, saying, “Your father made our yoke heavy, but you, lighten it from us”; thus you shall say: My little finger is thicker than my father’s loins.'
And now, my father disciplined you with a heavy yoke, and I will add to your yoke; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.
and he spoke to them according to the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to it; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.
And the king did not listen to the people, for the turn of events was from God, saying, The Lord has confirmed his word which he spoke by the hand of Achia the Selonite concerning Jeroboam son of Nabat,
and of all Israel, because the king did not listen to them. And the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David, and what inheritance in the son of Jesse? To your tents, O Israel! Now look to your own house, O David! And all Israel went to his tents.
And King Rehoboam sent Adoniram, who was over the tribute, and the sons of Israel stoned him with stones, and he died; and King Rehoboam hurried to go up into the chariot to flee to Jerusalem.
羅波安王差遣掌管服苦之工的亞多尼蘭去,以色列人就用石頭打死他。羅波安王急忙上車,逃往耶路撒冷去了。
