2 Chronicles 9

And the queen of Sheba heard the name of Solomon, and she came to Jerusalem to test Solomon with riddles, with a very great retinue, and camels bearing spices and gold in abundance and precious stone; and she came to Solomon and spoke with him all that was in her soul.

And Solomon declared to her all her words, and no word escaped Solomon that he did not declare to her.

And the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon and the house that he had built,

and the food of the tables, and the seating of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers and their clothing, and his cupbearers and their apparel, and the whole burnt offerings that he offered up in the house of the Lord; and she was beside herself.

And she said to the king, 'True was the report that I heard in my own land concerning your words and concerning your wisdom.

And I did not believe the reports until I came and my eyes saw; and behold, not half of the greatness of your wisdom was told me; you have exceeded the report that I heard.

Blessed are the men, blessed are these your servants who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom.

Let the Lord your God be blessed, who delighted in you, to set you on his throne as king for the Lord your God, because the Lord your God loved Israel, to establish him forever; and he gave you over them as king, to execute judgment and righteousness.'

And she gave to the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stone; and there was nothing like those spices that the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

And the servants of Solomon and the servants of Hiram brought gold to Solomon from Ophir, and pine timbers and precious stone.

And the king made the pine timbers into stairways for the house of the Lord and for the house of the king, and lyres and harps for the singers; and such things had never been seen before in the land of Judah.

And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desires that she asked, apart from all that she had brought to King Solomon; and she returned to her own land.

And the weight of the gold that was brought to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,

besides what the subject men and the merchants brought; and all the kings of Arabia and the satraps of the land were bringing gold and silver to King Solomon.

And King Solomon made two hundred golden shields of beaten work; six hundred pieces of pure gold went to the one shield, six hundred pieces of gold were upon the one shield.

and three hundred small shields of beaten gold; three hundred pieces of gold were applied to each shield; and the king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.

And the king made a great throne of ivory tusks and overlaid it with proven gold.

And there were six steps to the throne, bound with gold, and armrests on this side and on that side on the throne of the seat, and two lions standing beside the armrests;

and twelve lions standing there on the six steps, on this side and on that side; nothing like it was ever made in any kingdom.

And all the vessels of King Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were covered with gold; silver was not reckoned as anything in the days of Solomon.

For the king had a ship that went to Tarshish with the servants of Hiram; once every three years ships would come from Tarshish to the king, laden with gold and silver and ivory tusks and apes.

And Solomon was magnified above all the kings, both in wealth and in wisdom.

And all the kings of the earth were seeking the face of Solomon, to hear his wisdom that God had put in his heart.

And they each brought his gifts: vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and clothing, stacte and spices, horses and mules, year by year.

And Solomon had four thousand mares for chariots and twelve thousand horsemen; and he stationed them in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.

And he was ruler over all the kings, from the River and as far as the land of the foreigners, and as far as the border of Egypt.

And the king made gold and silver in Jerusalem like stones, and the cedars like the sycamores that are in the lowland, in abundance.

And the export of horses for Solomon was from Egypt and from all the land.

And the rest of the acts of Solomon, the first and the last, behold, they are written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the words of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Joel the seer concerning Jeroboam son of Nabat.

And Solomon the king reigned over all Israel forty years.

And Solomon slept, and they buried him in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
