ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

25:1
These are the miscellaneous instructions of Solomon, which the friends of Hezekiah the king of Judea copied out.
The glory of God conceals a matter, but the glory of a king honors affairs.

Heaven is high and the earth is deep, and the heart of a king is unsearchable.

25:4
Beat unrefined silver, and it will be cleansed wholly pure.
Slay the ungodly from before the king, and his throne will be set upright in righteousness.
Do not boast before a king, nor take your stand in the places of rulers.
For it is better for you to be told, 'Come up to me', than to be humbled before a ruler. Tell what your eyes have seen.
Do not rush quickly into a quarrel, lest you regret it at the last, when your friend reproaches you.
Withdraw back; do not be contemptuous.
lest your friend reproach you, and your quarrel and enmity do not depart, but become for you equal to death. Favor and friendship set a man free; keep these for yourself, that you may not become one reproached, but guard your ways so as to deal well with others.
A golden apple on a necklace of sardius — so is the speaking of a word.
A costly sardius is set in a golden earring — so is a wise word to an attentive ear.
As an issue of snow in harvest time benefits against the heat, so a faithful messenger benefits those who sent him; for he benefits the souls of those who employ him.
As winds and clouds and rains are most conspicuous, so are those who boast of a false gift.
In longsuffering there is prosperity for kings, and a soft tongue breaks bones.
Having found honey, eat what is enough, lest being filled you vomit it up.
Bring your foot to your own friend but seldom, lest being filled with you he come to hate you.

A club and a sword and a barbed arrow — so also is a man who testifies false witness against his friend.
The tooth of an evil man and the foot of a lawless one will perish in an evil day.
As vinegar is harmful to a wound, so a suffering that falls upon the body grieves the heart. As a moth to a garment and a worm to wood, so a man's grief harms his heart.
If your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink.
For in doing this you will heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord will repay you with good things.
The north wind rouses up clouds, and a shameless face provokes the tongue.
It is better to dwell on a corner of the housetop than with a railing woman in a shared house.
As cold water is welcome to a thirsting soul, so is good news from a land far off.
As if someone were to stop up a spring and spoil the outflow of water, so it is unseemly for a righteous man to have fallen before an ungodly one.
To eat much honey is not good, but one ought to honor words of glory.
As a city whose walls are thrown down and which is unwalled, so is a man who does anything without counsel.
