ἐὰν καθίσῃς δειπνεῖν ἐπὶ τραπέζης δυναστῶν νοητῶς νόει τὰ παρατιθέμενά σοι
If you sit down to dine at the table of rulers, consider intelligently what is set before you.
你若坐下與權貴同桌吃飯，要明智地思量擺在你面前的是甚麼。
23:2▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ἐπίβαλλε τὴν χεῖρά σου εἰδὼς ὅτι τοιαῦτά σε δεῖ παρασκευάσαι
And put forth your hand, knowing that you too must prepare such things.
要伸出你的手，並知道你也必須預備這樣的筵席。
23:3▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
εἰ δὲ ἀπληστότερος εἶ μὴ ἐπιθύμει τῶν ἐδεσμάτων αὐτοῦ ταῦτα γὰρ ἔχεται ζωῆς ψευδοῦς
But if you are rather insatiable, do not crave his dishes, for these belong to a false life.
你若是比較貪食的，就不要貪戀他的美食，因為這些都連於虛假的生活。

μὴ παρεκτείνου πένης ὢν πλουσίῳ τῇ δὲ σῇ ἐννοίᾳ ἀπόσχου
Do not stretch yourself out, being poor, against a rich man; but refrain in your own thinking.
你既是貧窮的，就不要與富人比並；要在你的心思上克制自己。

ἐὰν ἐπιστήσῃς τὸ σὸν ὄμμα πρὸς αὐτόν οὐδαμοῦ φανεῖται κατεσκεύασται γὰρ αὐτῷ πτέρυγες ὥσπερ ἀετοῦ καὶ ὑποστρέφει εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ προεστηκότος αὐτοῦ
If you fix your eye upon him, he will nowhere appear; for wings have been fitted to him like an eagle's, and he returns to the house of the one set over him.
你若定睛看他，他就無處可見了；因為他已配上翅膀，如同鷹的翅膀，就回到那管理他之人的家去。

μὴ συνδείπνει ἀνδρὶ βασκάνῳ μηδὲ ἐπιθύμει τῶν βρωμάτων αὐτοῦ
Do not dine with a grudging man, nor crave his foods.
不要與嫉妒吝嗇的人同席，也不要貪戀他的食物。
23:7▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὃν τρόπον γὰρ εἴ τις καταπίοι τρίχα οὕτως ἐσθίει καὶ πίνει
For just as if someone were to swallow a hair, so he eats and drinks.
因為他吃喝的樣子，正像人吞下一根頭髮一樣。
23:8▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μηδὲ πρὸς σὲ εἰσαγάγῃς αὐτὸν καὶ φάγῃς τὸν ψωμόν σου μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐξεμέσει γὰρ αὐτὸν καὶ λυμανεῖται τοὺς λόγους σου τοὺς καλούς
Nor bring him in to yourself and eat your morsel with him; for he will vomit it up and will ruin your good words.
也不要領他到你這裡來，與他同吃你的食物；因為他要把它吐出來，並且糟蹋你美好的言語。
23:9▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
εἰς ὦτα ἄφρονος μηδὲν λέγε μήποτε μυκτηρίσῃ τοὺς συνετοὺς λόγους σου
Say nothing into the ears of a fool, lest he sneer at your intelligent words.
不要對愚昧人的耳朵說甚麼，恐怕他嗤笑你明智的話語。

μὴ μεταθῇς ὅρια αἰώνια εἰς δὲ κτῆμα ὀρφανῶν μὴ εἰσέλθῃς
Do not shift the ancient boundaries, and do not enter into the property of orphans.
不可挪移古舊的地界，也不可進入孤兒的產業。
23:11▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὁ γὰρ λυτρούμενος αὐτοὺς κύριος κραταιός ἐστιν καὶ κρινεῖ τὴν κρίσιν αὐτῶν μετὰ σοῦ
For the Lord who redeems them is mighty, and he will judge their case with you.
因為救贖他們的主是大有能力的，他必審斷他們與你之間的案件。

δὸς εἰς παιδείαν τὴν καρδίαν σου τὰ δὲ ὦτά σου ἑτοίμασον λόγοις αἰσθήσεως
Give your heart to instruction, and prepare your ears for words of perception.
要把你的心交給管教，也要預備你的耳朵聽有見識的話語。
23:13▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ ἀπόσχῃ νήπιον παιδεύειν ὅτι ἐὰν πατάξῃς αὐτὸν ῥάβδῳ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ
Do not refrain from disciplining a child, for if you strike him with a rod he will not die.
不要停止管教孩童；你若用杖打他，他必不至於死。
23:14▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
σὺ μὲν γὰρ πατάξεις αὐτὸν ῥάβδῳ τὴν δὲ ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἐκ θανάτου ῥύσῃ
For you will strike him with a rod, but you will rescue his soul from death.
你固然用杖打他，卻是救他的魂脫離死亡。
23:15▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
υἱέ ἐὰν σοφὴ γένηταί σου ἡ καρδία εὐφρανεῖς καὶ τὴν ἐμὴν καρδίαν
Son, if your heart becomes wise, you will gladden my heart also.
我兒，你的心若成為智慧的，你也必使我的心歡喜。
23:16▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ἐνδιατρίψει λόγοις τὰ σὰ χείλη πρὸς τὰ ἐμὰ χείλη ἐὰν ὀρθὰ ὦσιν
And your lips will linger in words with my lips, if they are upright.
你的嘴唇若是正直的，就必與我的嘴唇一同流連在言語之中。
23:17▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ ζηλούτω ἡ καρδία σου ἁμαρτωλούς ἀλλὰ ἐν φόβῳ κυρίου ἴσθι ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν
Let not your heart envy sinners, but be in the fear of the Lord the whole day.
不要讓你的心嫉妒罪人，卻要終日活在敬畏主的心中。
23:18▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἐὰν γὰρ τηρήσῃς αὐτά ἔσται σοι ἔκγονα ἡ δὲ ἐλπίς σου οὐκ ἀποστήσεται
For if you keep these things, you will have offspring, and your hope will not depart.
你若持守這些，就必有後裔，你的盼望也必不離開。
23:19▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἄκουε υἱέ καὶ σοφὸς γίνου καὶ κατεύθυνε ἐννοίας σῆς καρδίας
Hear, son, and become wise, and direct the thoughts of your heart.
我兒，要聽，要作智慧人，並要引導你心中的意念。
23:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ ἴσθι οἰνοπότης μηδὲ ἐκτείνου συμβολαῖς κρεῶν τε ἀγορασμοῖς
Do not be a wine-drinker, nor stretch yourself out in feast-contributions and purchases of meat.
不要作貪杯的人，也不要在湊份子的筵席和買肉的事上放縱自己。
23:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
πᾶς γὰρ μέθυσος καὶ πορνοκόπος πτωχεύσει καὶ ἐνδύσεται διερρηγμένα καὶ ῥακώδη πᾶς ὑπνώδης
For every drunkard and whoremonger will become poor, and every drowsy one will be clothed in torn and ragged garments.
因為凡醉酒的和淫蕩的都必窮乏，凡貪睡的都必穿上破裂襤褸的衣服。
23:22▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἄκουε υἱέ πατρὸς τοῦ γεννήσαντός σε καὶ μὴ καταφρόνει ὅτι γεγήρακέν σου ἡ μήτηρ
Hear, son, the father who begot you, and do not despise her because your mother has grown old.
我兒，要聽那生你之父的話，也不可因你母親年老就藐視她。
23:24▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καλῶς ἐκτρέφει πατὴρ δίκαιος ἐπὶ δὲ υἱῷ σοφῷ εὐφραίνεται ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ
A righteous father rears well, and over a wise son his soul rejoices.
義人作父親，養育得宜；他的魂也因智慧的兒子歡喜。
23:25▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
εὐφραινέσθω ὁ πατὴρ καὶ ἡ μήτηρ ἐπὶ σοί καὶ χαιρέτω ἡ τεκοῦσά σε
Let the father and the mother rejoice over you, and let her who bore you be glad.
願你的父母因你歡喜，願生你的母親快樂。
23:26▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
δός μοι υἱέ σὴν καρδίαν οἱ δὲ σοὶ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἐμὰς ὁδοὺς τηρείτωσαν
Give me your heart, son, and let your eyes keep my ways.
我兒，要將你的心歸給我，你的眼目也要謹守我的道路。
23:27▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
πίθος γὰρ τετρημένος ἐστὶν ἀλλότριος οἶκος καὶ φρέαρ στενὸν ἀλλότριον
For a strange house is a pierced jar, and a strange well is narrow.
因為外人的家是有破洞的酒缸，外人的井是狹窄的。
23:28▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
οὗτος γὰρ συντόμως ἀπολεῖται καὶ πᾶς παράνομος ἀναλωθήσεται
For such a one will quickly perish, and every lawless man will be consumed.
因為這樣的人必速速滅亡，凡不法的人都必被消滅。
23:29▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
τίνι οὐαί τίνι θόρυβος τίνι κρίσις τίνι ἀηδίαι καὶ λέσχαι τίνι συντρίμματα διὰ κενῆς τίνος πέλειοι οἱ ὀφθαλμοί
Who has woe? who has tumult? who has disputes? who has vexations and idle talk? who has bruises for nothing? whose eyes are livid?
誰有禍患？誰有喧嚷？誰有爭訟？誰有厭煩和閒話？誰無故受傷？誰的眼睛發青？
23:30▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
οὐ τῶν ἐγχρονιζόντων ἐν οἴνοις οὐ τῶν ἰχνευόντων ποῦ πότοι γίνονται
Is it not those who linger over wines? is it not those who track out where drinking parties are held?
豈不是那些流連飲酒的人麼？豈不是那些尋訪何處有酒筵的人麼？
23:31▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ μεθύσκεσθε οἴνῳ ἀλλὰ ὁμιλεῖτε ἀνθρώποις δικαίοις καὶ ὁμιλεῖτε ἐν περιπάτοις ἐὰν γὰρ εἰς τὰς φιάλας καὶ τὰ ποτήρια δῷς τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου ὕστερον περιπατήσεις γυμνότερος ὑπέρου
Do not be drunk with wine, but keep company with righteous men, and converse in the walks; for if you give your eyes to the bowls and the cups, afterwards you will walk about barer than a pestle.
不要醉酒，倒要與義人來往，在遊步之處與人交談；你若把眼目放在酒盞和酒杯上，後來你行走時必比杵還赤裸。
23:32▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
τὸ δὲ ἔσχατον ὥσπερ ὑπὸ ὄφεως πεπληγὼς ἐκτείνεται καὶ ὥσπερ ὑπὸ κεράστου διαχεῖται αὐτῷ ὁ ἰός
But at the last he lies stretched out like one struck by a serpent, and as by a horned viper the venom is spread through him.
到末了，他必像被蛇咬了的人一樣直挺躺臥，又像被角蝰所傷，毒液在他身上散開。
23:33▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ὅταν ἴδωσιν ἀλλοτρίαν τὸ στόμα σου τότε λαλήσει σκολιά
When your eyes see a strange woman, then your mouth will speak crooked things.
你的眼目看見外女的時候，你的口就要說出乖謬的話。
23:34▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ κατακείσῃ ὥσπερ ἐν καρδίᾳ θαλάσσης καὶ ὥσπερ κυβερνήτης ἐν πολλῷ κλύδωνι
And you will lie down as in the heart of the sea, and as a helmsman in a great surge.
你必躺臥，如同躺在海心裡，又像舵手在大浪之中。
23:35▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἐρεῖς δέ τύπτουσίν με καὶ οὐκ ἐπόνεσα καὶ ἐνέπαιξάν μοι ἐγὼ δὲ οὐκ ᾔδειν πότε ὄρθρος ἔσται ἵνα ἐλθὼν ζητήσω μεθ’ ὧν συνελεύσομαι
And you will say: They strike me and I felt no pain; they made sport of me and I did not know it. When will it be dawn, that I may go and seek those with whom I will gather?
你必說：他們打我，我卻不覺疼痛；他們戲弄我，我竟不知道。天幾時亮呢？我好去尋找那些與我同聚的人。
