Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
6:3
ወአንተሰሶበትገብርምጽዋተከኢታእምርፀጋምከዘትገብርየማንከ።
你施捨的時候,不要叫左手知道右手所做的,
But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
6:4
ከመበኅቡእይኩንምጽዋትከወአቡከዘይሬእየከበኅቡእየዐስየከክሡተ።
要叫你施捨的事行在暗中。你父在暗中察看,必然報答你 。」
so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
“When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
6:7
ወእንዘትጼልዩኢትዘንግዑከመአሕዛብእስመይመስሎሙበአብዝኆንባቦሙዘይሰምዖሙ።
你們禱告,不可像外邦人,用許多重複話,他們以為話多了必蒙垂聽。
In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
6:8
ኢትትመሰልዎሙኬእስመየአምርአቡክሙሰማያዊዘትፈቅዱዘእንበለትስአልዎ።
你們不可效法他們;因為你們沒有祈求以先,你們所需用的,你們的父早已知道了。
Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.
6:9
አንትሙሰሶበትጼልዩከመዝበሉአቡነዘበሰማያትይትቀደስስምከ።
所以,你們禱告要這樣說: 我們在天上的父: 願人都尊你的名為聖。
Pray like this: “‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
6:10
ትምጻእመንግሥትከወይኩንፈቃድከበከመበሰማይከማሁበምድር።
願你的國降臨; 願你的旨意行在地上, 如同行在天上。
Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
6:11
ሲሳየነዘለለዕለትነሀበነዮም።
我們日用的飲食,今日賜給我們。
Give us today our daily bread.
6:12
ኅድግለነአበሳነወጌጋየነከመንሕነኒንኅድግለዘአበሰለነ።
免我們的債, 如同我們免了人的債。
Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
“Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
6:17
ወአንትሙሰሶበትጸውሙቅብዑርእሰክሙወኀጽቡገጸክሙ።
你禁食的時候,要梳頭洗臉,
But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
6:27
መኑእምኔክሙበተክዞዘይክልወስኮአሐደእመተበዲበቆሙወበእንተአራዝኒምንተኑትኄልዩ።
你們哪一個能用思慮使壽數多加一刻呢 ?
“Which of you by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
6:28
ርእዩጽጌያተገዳምዘከመይልህቁእንዘኢይጻምዉወኢይፈትሉ።
何必為衣裳憂慮呢?你想野地裏的百合花怎麼長起來;它也不勞苦,也不紡線。
Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin,
6:29
እብለክሙከመሰሎሞንጥቀበኵሉክብሩኢለብሰከመአሐዱእምእሉ።
然而我告訴你們,就是所羅門極榮華的時候,他所穿戴的,還不如這花一朵呢!
yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
6:31
ኢትተክዙኬእንከእንዘትብሉምንተንበልዕወምንተንሰቲወምንተንትከደን።
所以,不要憂慮說,吃甚麼?喝甚麼?穿甚麼?
“Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’
