26:1
כַּשֶּׁ֤לֶג׀ בַּקַּ֗יִץ וְכַמָּטָ֥ר בַּקָּצִ֑יר כֵּ֤ן לֹֽא־נָאוֶ֖ה לִכְסִ֣יל כָּבֽוֹד׃
夏天落雪,收割時下雨,都不相宜; 愚昧人得尊榮也是如此。
Like snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool.
26:2
כַּצִּפּ֣וֹר לָ֭נוּד כַּדְּר֣וֹר לָע֑וּף כֵּ֥ן קִֽלְלַ֥ת חִ֝נָּ֗ם (לא) [ל֣וֹ] תָבֹֽא׃
麻雀往來,燕子翻飛; 這樣,無故的咒詛也必不臨到。
Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesn’t come to rest.
26:3
שׁ֣וֹט לַ֭סּוּס מֶ֣תֶג לַחֲמ֑וֹר וְ֝שֵׁ֗בֶט לְגֵ֣ו כְּסִילִֽים׃
鞭子是為打馬,轡頭是為勒驢; 刑杖是為打愚昧人的背。
A whip is for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools!
26:4
אַל־תַּ֣עַן כְּ֭סִיל כְּאִוַּלְתּ֑וֹ פֶּֽן־תִּשְׁוֶה־לּ֥וֹ גַם־אָֽתָּה׃
不要照愚昧人的愚妄話回答他, 恐怕你與他一樣。
Don’t answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.
26:5
עֲנֵ֣ה כְ֭סִיל כְּאִוַּלְתּ֑וֹ פֶּן־יִהְיֶ֖ה חָכָ֣ם בְּעֵינָֽיו׃
要照愚昧人的愚妄話回答他, 免得他自以為有智慧。
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.
26:6
מְקַצֶּ֣ה רַ֭גְלַיִם חָמָ֣ס שֹׁתֶ֑ה שֹׁלֵ֖חַ דְּבָרִ֣ים בְּיַד־כְּסִֽיל׃
藉愚昧人手寄信的, 是砍斷自己的腳,自受 損害。
One who sends a message by the hand of a fool is cutting off feet and drinking violence.
26:7
דַּלְי֣וּ שֹׁ֭קַיִם מִפִּסֵּ֑חַ וּ֝מָשָׁ֗ל בְּפִ֣י כְסִילִֽים׃
瘸子的腳空存無用; 箴言在愚昧人的口中也是如此。
Like the legs of the lame that hang loose, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
26:8
כִּצְר֣וֹר אֶ֭בֶן בְּמַרְגֵּמָ֑ה כֵּן־נוֹתֵ֖ן לִכְסִ֣יל כָּבֽוֹד׃
將尊榮給愚昧人的, 好像人把石子包在機弦裏。
As one who binds a stone in a sling, so is he who gives honor to a fool.
26:9
ח֭וֹחַ עָלָ֣ה בְיַד־שִׁכּ֑וֹר וּ֝מָשָׁ֗ל בְּפִ֣י כְסִילִֽים׃
箴言在愚昧人的口中, 好像荊棘刺入醉漢的手。
Like a thorn bush that goes into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
26:10
רַ֥ב מְחוֹלֵֽל־כֹּ֑ל וְשֹׂכֵ֥ר כְּ֝סִ֗יל וְשֹׂכֵ֥ר עֹבְרִֽים׃
雇愚昧人的,與雇過路人的, 就像射傷眾人的弓箭手。
As an archer who wounds all, so is he who hires a fool or he who hires those who pass by.
26:11
כְּ֭כֶלֶב שָׁ֣ב עַל־קֵא֑וֹ כְּ֝סִ֗יל שׁוֹנֶ֥ה בְאִוַּלְתּֽוֹ׃
愚昧人行愚妄事,行了又行, 就如狗轉過來吃牠所吐的。
As a dog that returns to his vomit, so is a fool who repeats his folly.
26:12
רָאִ֗יתָ אִ֭ישׁ חָכָ֣ם בְּעֵינָ֑יו תִּקְוָ֖ה לִכְסִ֣יל מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃
你見自以為有智慧的人嗎? 愚昧人比他更有指望。
Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
26:13
אָמַ֣ר עָ֭צֵל שַׁ֣חַל בַּדָּ֑רֶךְ אֲ֝רִ֗י בֵּ֣ין הָרְחֹבֽוֹת׃
懶惰人說:道上有猛獅, 街上有壯獅。
The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion roams the streets!”
26:14
הַ֭דֶּלֶת תִּסּ֣וֹב עַל־צִירָ֑הּ וְ֝עָצֵ֗ל עַל־מִטָּתֽוֹ׃
門在樞紐轉動, 懶惰人在床上也是如此。
As the door turns on its hinges, so does the sluggard on his bed.
26:15
טָ֘מַ֤ן עָצֵ֣ל יָ֭דוֹ בַּצַּלָּ֑חַת נִ֝לְאָ֗ה לַהֲשִׁיבָ֥הּ אֶל־פִּֽיו׃
懶惰人放手在盤子裏, 就是向口撤回也以為勞乏。
The sluggard buries his hand in the dish. He is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.
26:16
חָכָ֣ם עָצֵ֣ל בְּעֵינָ֑יו מִ֝שִּׁבְעָ֗ה מְשִׁ֣יבֵי טָֽעַם׃
懶惰人看自己比七個善於應對的人更有智慧。
The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who answer with discretion.
26:17
מַחֲזִ֥יק בְּאׇזְנֵי־כָ֑לֶב עֹבֵ֥ר מִ֝תְעַבֵּ֗ר עַל־רִ֥יב לֹּא־לֽוֹ׃
過路被事激動,管理不干己的爭競, 好像人揪住狗耳。
Like one who grabs a dog’s ears is one who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own.
26:18
כְּֽ֭מִתְלַהְלֵהַּ הַיֹּרֶ֥ה זִקִּ֗ים חִצִּ֥ים וָמָֽוֶת׃
人欺凌鄰舍,卻說: 我豈不是戲耍嗎? 他就像瘋狂的人拋擲火把、利箭, 與殺人的兵器 。
Like a madman who shoots torches, arrows, and death,
26:19
כֵּֽן־אִ֭ישׁ רִמָּ֣ה אֶת־רֵעֵ֑הוּ וְ֝אָמַ֗ר הֲֽלֹא־מְשַׂחֵ֥ק אָֽנִי׃
人欺凌鄰舍,卻說: 我豈不是戲耍嗎? 他就像瘋狂的人拋擲火把、利箭, 與殺人的兵器 。
is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “Am I not joking?”
26:20
בְּאֶ֣פֶס עֵ֭צִים תִּכְבֶּה־אֵ֑שׁ וּבְאֵ֥ין נִ֝רְגָּ֗ן יִשְׁתֹּ֥ק מָדֽוֹן׃
火缺了柴就必熄滅; 無人傳舌,爭競便止息。
For lack of wood a fire goes out. Without gossip, a quarrel dies down.
26:21
פֶּחָ֣ם לְ֭גֶחָלִים וְעֵצִ֣ים לְאֵ֑שׁ וְאִ֥ישׁ (מדונים) [מִ֝דְיָנִ֗ים] לְחַרְחַר־רִֽיב׃ {פ}
好爭競的人煽惑爭端, 就如餘火加炭,火上加柴一樣。
As coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindling strife.
26:22
דִּבְרֵ֣י נִ֭רְגָּן כְּמִֽתְלַהֲמִ֑ים וְ֝הֵ֗ם יָרְד֥וּ חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃
傳舌人的言語,如同美食, 深入人的心腹。
The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, they go down into the innermost parts.
26:23
כֶּ֣סֶף סִ֭יגִים מְצֻפֶּ֣ה עַל־חָ֑רֶשׂ שְׂפָתַ֖יִם דֹּלְקִ֣ים וְלֶב־רָֽע׃
火熱的嘴,奸惡的心, 好像銀渣包的瓦器。
Like silver dross on an earthen vessel are the lips of a fervent one with an evil heart.
26:24
בִּ֭שְׂפָתָו יִנָּכֵ֣ר שׂוֹנֵ֑א וּ֝בְקִרְבּ֗וֹ יָשִׁ֥ית מִרְמָֽה׃
怨恨人的,用嘴粉飾, 心裏卻藏着詭詐;
A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but he harbors evil in his heart.
26:25
כִּֽי־יְחַנֵּ֣ן ק֭וֹלוֹ אַל־תַּאֲמֶן־בּ֑וֹ כִּ֤י שֶׁ֖בַע תּוֹעֵב֣וֹת בְּלִבּֽוֹ׃
他用甜言蜜語,你不可信他, 因為他心中有七樣可憎惡的。
When his speech is charming, don’t believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart.
26:26
תִּכַּסֶּ֣ה שִׂ֭נְאָה בְּמַשָּׁא֑וֹן תִּגָּלֶ֖ה רָעָת֣וֹ בְקָהָֽל׃
他雖用詭詐遮掩自己的怨恨, 他的邪惡必在會中顯露。
His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.
26:27
כֹּֽרֶה־שַּׁ֭חַת בָּ֣הּ יִפּ֑וֹל וְג֥וֹלֵֽל אֶ֝֗בֶן אֵלָ֥יו תָּשֽׁוּב׃
挖陷坑的,自己必掉在其中; 滾石頭的,石頭必反滾在他身上。
Whoever digs a pit shall fall into it. Whoever rolls a stone, it will come back on him.
26:28
לְֽשׁוֹן־שֶׁ֭קֶר יִשְׂנָ֣א דַכָּ֑יו וּפֶ֥ה חָ֝לָ֗ק יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה מִדְחֶֽה׃
虛謊的舌恨他所壓傷的人; 諂媚的口敗壞人的事。
A lying tongue hates those it hurts; and a flattering mouth works ruin.
