13:1
בֵּ֣ן חָ֭כָם מ֣וּסַר אָ֑ב וְ֝לֵ֗ץ לֹא־שָׁמַ֥ע גְּעָרָֽה׃
智慧子聽父親的教訓; 褻慢人不聽責備。
A wise son listens to his father’s instruction, but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke.
13:2
מִפְּרִ֣י פִי־אִ֭ישׁ יֹ֣אכַל ט֑וֹב וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ בֹּגְדִ֣ים חָמָֽס׃
人因口所結的果子,必享美福; 奸詐人必遭強暴。
By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful crave violence.
13:3
נֹצֵ֣ר פִּ֭יו שֹׁמֵ֣ר נַפְשׁ֑וֹ פֹּשֵׂ֥ק שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו מְחִתָּה־לֽוֹ׃
謹守口的,得保生命; 大張嘴的,必致敗亡。
He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
13:4
מִתְאַוָּ֣ה וָ֭אַיִן נַפְשׁ֣וֹ עָצֵ֑ל וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ חָרֻצִ֣ים תְּדֻשָּֽׁן׃
懶惰人羨慕,卻無所得; 殷勤人必得豐裕。
The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied.
13:5
דְּבַר־שֶׁ֭קֶר יִשְׂנָ֣א צַדִּ֑יק וְ֝רָשָׁ֗ע יַבְאִ֥ישׁ וְיַחְפִּֽיר׃
義人恨惡謊言; 惡人有臭名,且致慚愧。
A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace.
13:6
צְ֭דָקָה תִּצֹּ֣ר תׇּם־דָּ֑רֶךְ וְ֝רִשְׁעָ֗ה תְּסַלֵּ֥ף חַטָּֽאת׃
行為正直的,有公義保守; 犯罪的,被邪惡傾覆。
Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
13:7
יֵ֣שׁ מִ֭תְעַשֵּׁר וְאֵ֣ין כֹּ֑ל מִ֝תְרוֹשֵׁ֗שׁ וְה֣וֹן רָֽב׃
假作富足的,卻一無所有; 裝作窮乏的,卻廣有財物。
There are some who pretend to be rich, yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth.
13:8
כֹּ֣פֶר נֶפֶשׁ־אִ֣ישׁ עׇשְׁר֑וֹ וְ֝רָ֗שׁ לֹא־שָׁמַ֥ע גְּעָרָֽה׃
人的資財是他生命的贖價; 窮乏人卻聽不見威嚇的話。
The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats.
13:9
אוֹר־צַדִּיקִ֥ים יִשְׂמָ֑ח וְנֵ֖ר רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִדְעָֽךְ׃
義人的光明亮 ; 惡人的燈要熄滅。
The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.
13:10
רַק־בְּ֭זָדוֹן יִתֵּ֣ן מַצָּ֑ה וְאֶת־נ֖וֹעָצִ֣ים חׇכְמָֽה׃
驕傲只啟爭競; 聽勸言的,卻有智慧。
Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is with people who take advice.
13:11
ה֭וֹן מֵהֶ֣בֶל יִמְעָ֑ט וְקֹבֵ֖ץ עַל־יָ֣ד יַרְבֶּֽה׃
不勞而得之財必然消耗; 勤勞積蓄的,必見加增。
Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
13:12
תּוֹחֶ֣לֶת מְ֭מֻשָּׁכָה מַחֲלָה־לֵ֑ב וְעֵ֥ץ חַ֝יִּ֗ים תַּאֲוָ֥ה בָאָֽה׃
所盼望的遲延未得,令人心憂; 所願意的臨到,卻是生命樹。
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
13:13
בָּ֣ז לְ֭דָבָר יֵחָ֣בֶל ל֑וֹ וִירֵ֥א מִ֝צְוָ֗ה ה֣וּא יְשֻׁלָּֽם׃
藐視訓言的,自取滅亡; 敬畏誡命的,必得善報。
Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded.
13:14
תּוֹרַ֣ת חָ֭כָם מְק֣וֹר חַיִּ֑ים לָ֝ס֗וּר מִמֹּ֥קְשֵׁי מָֽוֶת׃
智慧人的法則 是生命的泉源, 可以使人離開死亡的網羅。
The teaching of the wise is a spring of life, to turn from the snares of death.
13:15
שֵֽׂכֶל־ט֭וֹב יִתֶּן־חֵ֑ן וְדֶ֖רֶךְ בֹּגְדִ֣ים אֵיתָֽן׃
美好的聰明使人蒙恩; 奸詐人的道路崎嶇難行。
Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard.
13:16
כׇּל־עָ֭רוּם יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה בְדָ֑עַת וּ֝כְסִ֗יל יִפְרֹ֥שׂ אִוֶּֽלֶת׃
凡通達人都憑知識行事; 愚昧人張揚自己的愚昧。
Every prudent man acts from knowledge, but a fool exposes folly.
13:17
מַלְאָ֣ךְ רָ֭שָׁע יִפֹּ֣ל בְּרָ֑ע וְצִ֖יר אֱמוּנִ֣ים מַרְפֵּֽא׃
奸惡的使者必陷在禍患裏; 忠信的使臣乃醫人的良藥。
A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy gains healing.
13:18
רֵ֣ישׁ וְ֭קָלוֹן פּוֹרֵ֣עַ מוּסָ֑ר וְשֹׁמֵ֖ר תּוֹכַ֣חַת יְכֻבָּֽד׃
棄絕管教的,必致貧受辱; 領受責備的,必得尊榮。
Poverty and shame come to him who refuses discipline, but he who heeds correction shall be honored.
13:19
תַּאֲוָ֣ה נִ֭הְיָה תֶּעֱרַ֣ב לְנָ֑פֶשׁ וְתוֹעֲבַ֥ת כְּ֝סִילִ֗ים ס֣וּר מֵרָֽע׃
所欲的成就,心覺甘甜; 遠離惡事,為愚昧人所憎惡。
Longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.
13:20
(הלוך) [הוֹלֵ֣ךְ] אֶת־חֲכָמִ֣ים (וחכם) [יֶחְכָּ֑ם] וְרֹעֶ֖ה כְסִילִ֣ים יֵרֽוֹעַ׃
與智慧人同行的,必得智慧; 和愚昧人作伴的,必受虧損。
One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
13:21
חַ֭טָּאִים תְּרַדֵּ֣ף רָעָ֑ה וְאֶת־צַ֝דִּיקִ֗ים יְשַׁלֶּם־טֽוֹב׃
禍患追趕罪人; 義人必得善報。
Misfortune pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous.
13:22
ט֗וֹב יַנְחִ֥יל בְּנֵֽי־בָנִ֑ים וְצָפ֥וּן לַ֝צַּדִּ֗יק חֵ֣יל חוֹטֵֽא׃
善人給子孫遺留產業; 罪人為義人積存資財。
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous.
13:23
רׇב־אֹ֭כֶל נִ֣יר רָאשִׁ֑ים וְיֵ֥שׁ נִ֝סְפֶּ֗ה בְּלֹ֣א מִשְׁפָּֽט׃
窮人耕種多得糧食, 但因不義,有消滅的。
An abundance of food is in poor people’s fields, but injustice sweeps it away.
13:24
חוֹשֵׂ֣ךְ שִׁ֭בְטוֹ שׂוֹנֵ֣א בְנ֑וֹ וְ֝אֹהֲב֗וֹ שִׁחֲר֥וֹ מוּסָֽר׃
不忍用杖打兒子的,是恨惡他; 疼愛兒子的,隨時管教。
One who spares the rod hates his son, but one who loves him is careful to discipline him.
13:25
צַדִּ֗יק אֹ֭כֵֽל לְשֹׂ֣בַע נַפְשׁ֑וֹ וּבֶ֖טֶן רְשָׁעִ֣ים תֶּחְסָֽר׃
義人吃得飽足; 惡人肚腹缺糧。
The righteous one eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the belly of the wicked goes hungry.
