14:1
חַכְמ֣וֹת נָ֭שִׁים בָּנְתָ֣ה בֵיתָ֑הּ וְ֝אִוֶּ֗לֶת בְּיָדֶ֥יהָ תֶהֶרְסֶֽנּוּ׃
智慧婦人建立家室; 愚妄婦人親手拆毀。
Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
14:2
הוֹלֵ֣ךְ בְּ֭יׇשְׁרוֹ יְרֵ֣א יְהֹוָ֑ה וּנְל֖וֹז דְּרָכָ֣יו בּוֹזֵֽהוּ׃
行動正直的,敬畏耶和華; 行事乖僻的,卻藐視他。
He who walks in his uprightness fears Yahweh, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.
14:3
בְּֽפִי־אֱ֭וִיל חֹ֣טֶר גַּאֲוָ֑ה וְשִׂפְתֵ֥י חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים תִּשְׁמוּרֵֽם׃
愚妄人口中驕傲,如杖責打己身; 智慧人的嘴必保守自己。
The fool’s talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
14:4
בְּאֵ֣ין אֲ֭לָפִים אֵב֣וּס בָּ֑ר וְרׇב־תְּ֝בוּא֗וֹת בְּכֹ֣חַ שֽׁוֹר׃
家裏無牛,槽頭乾淨; 土產加多乃憑牛力。
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
14:5
עֵ֣ד אֱ֭מוּנִים לֹ֣א יְכַזֵּ֑ב וְיָפִ֥יחַ כְּ֝זָבִ֗ים עֵ֣ד שָֽׁקֶר׃
誠實見證人不說謊話; 假見證人吐出謊言。
A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.
14:6
בִּקֶּשׁ־לֵ֣ץ חׇכְמָ֣ה וָאָ֑יִן וְדַ֖עַת לְנָב֣וֹן נָקָֽל׃
褻慢人尋智慧,卻尋不着; 聰明人易得知識。
A scoffer seeks wisdom, and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.
14:7
לֵ֣ךְ מִ֭נֶּגֶד לְאִ֣ישׁ כְּסִ֑יל וּבַל־יָ֝דַ֗עְתָּ שִׂפְתֵי־דָֽעַת׃
到愚昧人面前, 不見他嘴中有知識。
Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.
14:8
חׇכְמַ֣ת עָ֭רוּם הָבִ֣ין דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וְאִוֶּ֖לֶת כְּסִילִ֣ים מִרְמָֽה׃
通達人的智慧在乎明白己道; 愚昧人的愚妄乃是詭詐 。
The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
14:9
אֱ֭וִלִים יָלִ֣יץ אָשָׁ֑ם וּבֵ֖ין יְשָׁרִ֣ים רָצֽוֹן׃
愚妄人犯罪,以為戲耍 ; 正直人互相喜悅。
Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.
14:10
לֵ֗ב י֭וֹדֵעַ מׇרַּ֣ת נַפְשׁ֑וֹ וּ֝בְשִׂמְחָת֗וֹ לֹא־יִתְעָ֥רַב זָֽר׃
心中的苦楚,自己知道; 心裏的喜樂,外人無干。
The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.
14:11
בֵּ֣ית רְ֭שָׁעִים יִשָּׁמֵ֑ד וְאֹ֖הֶל יְשָׁרִ֣ים יַפְרִֽיחַ׃
奸惡人的房屋必傾倒; 正直人的帳棚必興盛。
The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
14:12
יֵ֤שׁ דֶּ֣רֶךְ יָ֭שָׁר לִפְנֵי־אִ֑ישׁ וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ דַּרְכֵי־מָֽוֶת׃
有一條路,人以為正, 至終成為死亡之路。
There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
14:13
גַּם־בִּשְׂחֹ֥ק יִכְאַב־לֵ֑ב וְאַחֲרִיתָ֖הּ שִׂמְחָ֣ה תוּגָֽה׃
人在喜笑中,心也憂愁; 快樂至極就生愁苦。
Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful, and mirth may end in heaviness.
14:14
מִדְּרָכָ֣יו יִ֭שְׂבַּע ס֣וּג לֵ֑ב וּ֝מֵעָלָ֗יו אִ֣ישׁ טֽוֹב׃
心中背道的,必滿得自己的結果; 善人必從自己的行為得以知足。
The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.
14:15
פֶּ֭תִי יַאֲמִ֣ין לְכׇל־דָּבָ֑ר וְ֝עָר֗וּם יָבִ֥ין לַאֲשֻׁרֽוֹ׃
愚蒙人是話都信; 通達人步步謹慎。
A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
14:16
חָכָ֣ם יָ֭רֵא וְסָ֣ר מֵרָ֑ע וּ֝כְסִ֗יל מִתְעַבֵּ֥ר וּבוֹטֵֽחַ׃
智慧人懼怕,就遠離惡事; 愚妄人卻狂傲自恃。
A wise man fears and shuns evil, but the fool is hot headed and reckless.
14:17
קְֽצַר־אַ֭פַּיִם יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה אִוֶּ֑לֶת וְאִ֥ישׁ מְ֝זִמּ֗וֹת יִשָּׂנֵֽא׃
輕易發怒的,行事愚妄; 設立詭計的,被人恨惡。
He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.
14:18
נָחֲל֣וּ פְתָאיִ֣ם אִוֶּ֑לֶת וַ֝עֲרוּמִ֗ים יַכְתִּ֥רוּ דָֽעַת׃
愚蒙人得愚昧為產業; 通達人得知識為冠冕。
The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
14:19
שַׁח֣וּ רָ֭עִים לִפְנֵ֣י טוֹבִ֑ים וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים עַֽל־שַׁעֲרֵ֥י צַדִּֽיק׃
壞人俯伏在善人面前; 惡人俯伏在義人門口。
The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
14:20
גַּם־לְ֭רֵעֵהוּ יִשָּׂ֣נֵא רָ֑שׁ וְאֹהֲבֵ֖י עָשִׁ֣יר רַבִּֽים׃
貧窮人連鄰舍也恨他; 富足人朋友最多。
The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends.
14:21
בׇּז־לְרֵעֵ֥הוּ חוֹטֵ֑א וּמְחוֹנֵ֖ן (עניים) [עֲנָוִ֣ים] אַשְׁרָֽיו׃
藐視鄰舍的,這人有罪; 憐憫貧窮的,這人有福。
He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has pity on the poor is blessed.
14:22
הֲֽלוֹא־יִ֭תְעוּ חֹ֣רְשֵׁי רָ֑ע וְחֶ֥סֶד וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת חֹ֣רְשֵׁי טֽוֹב׃
謀惡的,豈非走入迷途嗎? 謀善的,必得慈愛和誠實。
Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
14:23
בְּכׇל־עֶ֭צֶב יִהְיֶ֣ה מוֹתָ֑ר וּדְבַר־שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם אַךְ־לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃
諸般勤勞都有益處; 嘴上多言乃致窮乏。
In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
14:24
עֲטֶ֣רֶת חֲכָמִ֣ים עׇשְׁרָ֑ם אִוֶּ֖לֶת כְּסִילִ֣ים אִוֶּֽלֶת׃
智慧人的財為自己的冠冕; 愚妄人的愚昧終是愚昧。
The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.
14:25
מַצִּ֣יל נְ֭פָשׁוֹת עֵ֣ד אֱמֶ֑ת וְיָפִ֖חַ כְּזָבִ֣ים מִרְמָֽה׃
作真見證的,救人性命; 吐出謊言的,施行詭詐。
A truthful witness saves souls, but a false witness is deceitful.
14:26
בְּיִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה מִבְטַח־עֹ֑ז וּ֝לְבָנָ֗יו יִהְיֶ֥ה מַחְסֶֽה׃
敬畏耶和華的,大有倚靠; 他的兒女也有避難所。
In the fear of Yahweh is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.
14:27
יִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה מְק֣וֹר חַיִּ֑ים לָ֝ס֗וּר מִמֹּ֥קְשֵׁי מָֽוֶת׃
敬畏耶和華就是生命的泉源, 可以使人離開死亡的網羅。
The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.
14:28
בְּרׇב־עָ֥ם הַדְרַת־מֶ֑לֶךְ וּבְאֶ֥פֶס לְ֝אֹ֗ם מְחִתַּ֥ת רָזֽוֹן׃
帝王榮耀在乎民多; 君王衰敗在乎民少。
In the multitude of people is the king’s glory, but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
14:29
אֶ֣רֶךְ אַ֭פַּיִם רַב־תְּבוּנָ֑ה וּקְצַר־ר֝֗וּחַ מֵרִ֥ים אִוֶּֽלֶת׃
不輕易發怒的,大有聰明; 性情暴躁的,大顯愚妄。
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.
14:30
חַיֵּ֣י בְ֭שָׂרִים לֵ֣ב מַרְפֵּ֑א וּרְקַ֖ב עֲצָמ֣וֹת קִנְאָֽה׃
心中安靜是肉體的生命; 嫉妒是骨中的朽爛。
The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.
14:31
עֹ֣שֵֽׁק דָּ֭ל חֵרֵ֣ף עֹשֵׂ֑הוּ וּ֝מְכַבְּד֗וֹ חֹנֵ֥ן אֶבְיֽוֹן׃
欺壓貧寒的,是辱沒造他的主; 憐憫窮乏的,乃是尊敬主。
He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.
14:32
בְּֽ֭רָעָתוֹ יִדָּחֶ֣ה רָשָׁ֑ע וְחֹסֶ֖ה בְמוֹת֣וֹ צַדִּֽיק׃
惡人在所行的惡上必被推倒; 義人臨死,有所投靠。
The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.
14:33
בְּלֵ֣ב נָ֭בוֹן תָּנ֣וּחַ חׇכְמָ֑ה וּבְקֶ֥רֶב כְּ֝סִילִ֗ים תִּוָּדֵֽעַ׃
智慧存在聰明人心中; 愚昧人心裏所存的,顯而易見。
Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, and is even made known in the inward part of fools.
14:34
צְדָקָ֥ה תְרוֹמֵֽם־גּ֑וֹי וְחֶ֖סֶד לְאֻמִּ֣ים חַטָּֽאת׃
公義使邦國高舉; 罪惡是人民的羞辱。
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
14:35
רְֽצוֹן־מֶ֭לֶךְ לְעֶ֣בֶד מַשְׂכִּ֑יל וְ֝עֶבְרָת֗וֹ תִּהְיֶ֥ה מֵבִֽישׁ׃
智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠; 貽羞的僕人遭其震怒。
The king’s favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.
