16:1
ዘንተ ነገርኩክሙ ከመ ኢትትዐቀፉ።
“I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.
「我已將這些事告訴你們，使你們不至於跌倒。
16:2
እስመ እምኵራባቲሆሙ ያወፅኡክሙ ወባሕቱ ትመጽእ ሰዓት ከመ ኵሉ ዘይቀትለክሙ ይመስሎ ከመ ዘመሥዋዕተ ያበውእ ለእግዚአብሔር።
They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.
人要把你們趕出會堂，並且時候將到，凡殺你們的就以為是事奉上帝。
16:3
ወዘንተኒ ዘይገብሩ ላዕሌክሙ እስመ ኢየአምርዎ ለአብ ወኢኪያየ።
They will do these things because they have not known the Father nor me.
他們這樣行，是因未曾認識父，也未曾認識我。
16:4
ወባሕቱ ዘንተ ነገርኩክሙ ከመ ትዘከርዎ አመ በጽሐ ጊዜሁ ከመ አነ እቤለክሙ ወቀዲሙሰ ኢነገርኩክሙ ዘንተ እስመ ሀሎኩ ምስሌክሙ።
But I have told you these things so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.
我將這事告訴你們，是叫你們到了時候可以想起我對你們說過了。」 聖靈的工作 「我起先沒有將這事告訴你們，因為我與你們同在。
16:5
ወይእዜሰ ባሕቱ አሐውር ኀበ አብ ዘፈነወኒ ወኢአሐዱሂ እምኔክሙ ኢትብሉኒ አይቴ ተሐውር።
But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
現今我往差我來的父那裏去，你們中間並沒有人問我：『你往哪裏去？』
16:6
ወባሕቱ እስመ ዘንተ ነገርኩክሙ ኀዘን መልአ ውስተ ልብክሙ።
But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.
只因我將這事告訴你們，你們就滿心憂愁。
16:7
ወአንሰ አማን ህልወ እብለክሙ ይኄይሰክሙ እሑር አነ ኀበ አብ እስመ እመ ኢሖርኩ አነ ኢይመጽእ ጰራቅሊጦስ ኀቤክሙ ወእመሰ ሖርኩ አነ እፌንዎ ለክሙ።
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
然而，我將真情告訴你們，我去是與你們有益的；我若不去，保惠師就不到你們這裏來；我若去，就差他來。
16:8
ወመጺኦ ውእቱ ይዛለፎ ለዓለም በእንተ ኀጢአት ወበእንተ ጽድቅ ወበእንተ ኵነኔ።
When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;
他既來了，就要叫世人為罪、為義、為審判，自己責備自己。
16:9
በእንተ ኀጢአትሰ እስመ ኢአምኑ ብየ።
about sin, because they don’t believe in me;
為罪，是因他們不信我；
16:10
ወበእንተ ጽድቅኒ እስመ አነ አሐውር ኀበ አብ ወኢትሬእዩኒ እንከ።
about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;
為義，是因我往父那裏去，你們就不再見我；
16:11
ወበእንተሰ ኵነኔ እስመ ይትኴነን መልአኩ ለዝንቱ ዓለም።
about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.
為審判，是因這世界的王受了審判。
16:12
ወብየ ብዙኅ ነገር ዘእነግረክሙ ወባሕቱ ኢትክሉ ጸዊሮቶ ይእዜ።
“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.
「我還有好些事要告訴你們，但你們現在擔當不了 。
16:13
ወመጺኦ ውእቱ መንፈሰ ጽድቅ ይመርሐክሙ ኀበ ኵሉ ጽድቅ እስመ ኢይነግር ዘእምኀቤሁ ወዘሰምዐ ዳእሙ ይነግር ወዘይመጽእሂ ይነግረክሙ።
However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.
只等真理的聖靈來了，他要引導你們明白 一切的真理；因為他不是憑自己說的，乃是把他所聽見的都說出來，並要把將來的事告訴你們。
16:14
ወኪያየ ይሴብሕ ውእቱ እስመ እምዚኣየ ይነሥእ ወይነግረክሙ ኵሎ።
He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine and will declare it to you.
他要榮耀我，因為他要將受於我的告訴你們。
16:15
እስመ ኵሉ ዘቦ ለአቡየ ዚኣየ ውእቱ ወበእንተ ዝንቱ እብለክሙ እምዚኣየ ይነሥእ ወይነግረክሙ።
All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine and will declare it to you.
凡父所有的，都是我的；所以我說，他要將受於我的告訴你們。」
16:16
ዓዲ ኅዳጠ ኢትሬእዩኒ ወካዕበ ኅዳጠ ትሬእዩኒ እስመ አሐውር ኀበ አብ።
“A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”
「等不多時，你們就不得見我；再等不多時，你們還要見我。」
16:17
ወተባሀሉ አርዳኢሁ በበይናቲሆሙ ምንትኑ ዝንቱ ዘይብለነ ዓዲ ኅዳጠ ኢትሬእዩኒ ወካዕበ ኅዳጠ ትሬእዩኒ እስመ አሐውር ኀበ አብ።
Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to the Father’?”
有幾個門徒就彼此說：「他對我們說：『等不多時，你們就不得見我；再等不多時，你們還要見我』；又說：『因我往父那裏去。』這是甚麼意思呢？」
16:18
ወይቤሉ ምንትኑ ዝንቱ ዘይብለነ ኅዳጠ ኢነአምር ዘይትናገር ቦቱ።
They said therefore, “What is this that he says, ‘A little while’? We don’t know what he is saying.”
門徒彼此說：「他說『等不多時』到底是甚麼意思呢？我們不明白他所說的話。」
16:19
ወአእመሮሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ከመ ይፈቅዱ ይሰአልዎ ወይቤሎሙ በእንተ ዝንቱኑ ትትኃሠሡ በበይናቲክሙ እስመ እቤለክሙ ዓዲ ኅዳጠ ኢትሬእዩኒ ወካዕበ ኅዳጠ ትሬእዩኒ።
Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’?
耶穌看出他們要問他，就說：「我說『等不多時，你們就不得見我；再等不多時，你們還要見我』，你們為這話彼此相問嗎？
16:20
አማን አማን እብለክሙ ከመ ትበክዩ ወትላሕዉ አንትሙ ወዓለምሰ ይትፌሣሕ ወአንትሙሰ ተኀዝኑ አላ ኀዘንክሙ ፍሥሓ ይከውነክሙ።
Most certainly I tell you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
我實實在在地告訴你們，你們將要痛哭、哀號，世人倒要喜樂；你們將要憂愁，然而你們的憂愁要變為喜樂。
16:21
በከመ ብእሲት ትቴክዝ ሶበ አልጸቀት ትለድ እስመ በጽሐ ጊዜሃ ወእምከመ ወለደት ዕጓላ ኢትዜከሮ እንከ ለሕማማ በእንተ ፍሥሓሃ እስመ ወለደት ብእሴ ውስተ ዓለም።
A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.
婦人生產的時候就憂愁，因為她的時候到了；既生了孩子，就不再記念那苦楚，因為歡喜世上生了一個人。
16:22
ወከማሁ አንትሙኒ ትቴክዙ ይእዜ ወባሕቱ ካዕበ እሬእየክሙ ወይትፌሥሐክሙ ልብክሙ ወፍሥሓክሙኒ አልቦ ዘየሀይደክሙ።
Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
你們現在也是憂愁，但我要再見你們，你們的心就喜樂了；這喜樂也沒有人能奪去。
16:23
ወይእተ አሚረ አልቦ ዘትስእሉኒ ኪያየ ወኢምንተኒ አማን አማን እብለክሙ ከመ እመ ሰአልክምዎ ለአብ በስምየ ኵሎ ይሁበክሙ።
“In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
到那日，你們甚麼也就不問我了。我實實在在地告訴你們，你們若向父求甚麼，他必因我的名賜給你們。
16:24
ወእስከ ይእዜሰ ኢሰአልክምዎ ወኢምንተኒ በስምየ ሰአሉ ወትነሥኡ ከመ ፍጹመ ይኩን ፍሥሓክሙ፥
Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
向來你們沒有奉我的名求甚麼，如今你們求，就必得着，叫你們的喜樂可以滿足。」
16:25
ወይእዜሰ በምሳሌ ነገርኩክሙ ወባሕቱ ይበጽሕ ጊዜሁ አመ ኢይነግረክሙ በምሳሌ አላ አየድዐክሙ ክሡተ በእንተ አብ።
“I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father.
「這些事，我是用比喻對你們說的；時候將到，我不再用比喻對你們說，乃要將父明明地告訴你們。
16:26
ወይእተ አሚረ ትስእሉ በስምየ ወኢይብለክሙ ከመ አነ ዘእስእሎ ለአብ በእንቲኣክሙ።
In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you that I will pray to the Father for you,
到那日，你們要奉我的名祈求；我並不對你們說，我要為你們求父。
16:27
እስመ ለሊሁ አብ ያፈቅረክሙ እስመ አንትሙ አፍቀርክሙኒ ወአመንክሙኒ ከመ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ወፃእኩ።
for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.
父自己愛你們；因為你們已經愛我，又信我是從父出來的。
16:28
ወመጻእኩ ውስተ ዓለም ወካዕበ አኀድጎ ለዓለም ወአሐውር ኀበ አብ።
I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”
我從父出來，到了世界；我又離開世界，往父那裏去。」
16:29
ወይቤልዎ አርዳኢሁ ይእዜሰ ገሃደ ተናገርከነ ወአልቦ ዘመሰልከ ወኢምንተኒ።
His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you are speaking plainly, and using no figures of speech.
門徒說：「如今你是明說，並不用比喻了。
16:30
ወይእዜ አእመርነ ከመ ኵሎ ተአምር አንተ ወኢትፈቅድ ይንግርከ መኑሂ ወበዝንቱ አእመርነ ከመ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ወፃእከ።
Now we know that you know all things, and don’t need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”
現在我們曉得你凡事都知道，也不用人問你，因此我們信你是從上帝出來的。」
16:31
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ይእዜሰኬ አእምሩ ወእመኑ።
Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?
耶穌說：「現在你們信嗎？
16:32
ናሁኬ ይበጽሕ ጊዜሁ ወበጺሖኒ ከመ ኵልክሙ ትዘረዉ ለለአሐዱ ውስተ መካኑ ወተኀድጉኒ ባሕቲትየ ወኢኮንኩ አነ ባሕቲትየ እስመ አብ ምስሌየ ውእቱ።
Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
看哪，時候將到，且是已經到了，你們要分散，各歸自己的地方去，留下我獨自一人；其實我不是獨自一人，因為有父與我同在。
16:33
ወዝንቱ ውእቱ ዘነገርኩክሙ ከመ በኀቤየ ሰላመ ትርከቡ ወበዓለምሰ ሀለወክሙ ሕማመ ትርከቡ ወባሕቱ ጽንዑ እስመ አነ ሞእክዎ ለዓለም።
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
我將這些事告訴你們，是要叫你們在我裏面有平安。在世上，你們有苦難；但你們可以放心，我已經勝了世界。」
