📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

You are righteous, O Lord, that I should plead before you; yet I will speak judgements with you: Why is the way of the ungodly prosperous? Why do all who deal treacherously thrive?
How long shall the land mourn and all the grass of the field wither because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it? Cattle and birds have been wiped out, for they said: God will not see our ways.
Your feet run and they weary you; how then will you prepare yourself among horses? And in a land of peace you are confident; how then will you fare in the raging of the Jordan?
For even your brothers and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you; and they themselves have cried out from behind you, they have gathered together. Do not trust in them, though they speak good things to you.
It was made a desolation of destruction because of me; with desolation the whole land has been made desolate, for there is no man who lays it to heart.
Upon every pass in the wilderness ravagers have come, for the sword of the Lord shall devour from one end of the land to the other end of the land; there is no peace for all flesh.
For thus says the Lord concerning all the evil neighbours who touch the inheritance which I apportioned to my people Israel: Behold, I am tearing them away from their land, and I will cast out Judah from their midst.
And it shall be, after I have cast them out, I will turn back and have mercy on them, and I will settle them each in his inheritance and each in his land.
And it shall be, if they diligently learn the way of my people, to swear by my name, The Lord lives, just as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they shall be built up in the midst of my people.
