Jeremiah 32

All that Jeremiah prophesied against all the nations.

Thus said the Lord, the God of Israel: Take this cup of unmixed wine from my hand, and you shall give it to drink to all the nations to which I am sending you.

And they shall drink and vomit and go mad before the sword which I am sending among them.

And I took the cup from the Lord's hand and gave drink to the nations to which the Lord sent me:

Jerusalem and the cities of Iouda and the kings of Iouda and his rulers, to make them a desolation and an untrodden waste and a hissing;

and Pharao king of Egypt and his servants and his nobles and all his people;

and all his mixed peoples and all the kings of the foreigners: Ascalon and Gaza and Akkaron and the remnant of Azotos;

and Idumea and the land of Moab and the sons of Ammon;

and all the kings of Tyre and the kings of Sidon and the kings who are beyond the sea;

and Daidan and Thaiman and Ros and everyone shorn around his face;

and all the mixed peoples who lodge in the wilderness;

and all the kings of Ailam and all the kings of the Persians;

and all the kings from the east, those far off and those near, each one toward his brother, and all the kingdoms that are upon the face of the earth.

And you shall say to them: Thus said the Lord Almighty: Drink and be drunk and vomit; and you shall fall and shall not rise up, before the sword which I am sending among you.

And it shall be, when they are unwilling to receive the cup from your hand so as to drink, you shall say: Thus said the Lord: You shall surely drink.

For in the city on which my name has been called I am beginning to bring harm, and shall you be cleansed with a cleansing? You shall not be cleansed, for I am calling a sword against those who dwell on the earth.

And you shall prophesy against them all these words and shall say: The Lord shall declare from on high; from his holy place he shall utter his voice; he shall declare a word concerning his place; and they shall answer aidad like grape-gatherers; and it shall come upon those who dwell on the earth.

Destruction has come upon a part of the earth, for the Lord has a case against the nations; he himself enters into judgement with all flesh, and the ungodly have been given over to the sword, says the Lord.

Thus said the Lord: Behold, evils are coming from nation to nation, and a great tempest is going forth from the end of the earth.

And in the day of the Lord those slain by the Lord shall be from one part of the earth even to the other part of the earth; they shall not be buried; they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth.

Wail, you shepherds, and cry out; and beat yourselves, you rams of the flock, for your days have been fulfilled for slaughter, and you shall fall like the choice rams.

And flight shall perish from the shepherds, and deliverance from the rams of the flock.

A sound of the shepherds' crying and a wailing of the sheep and of the rams, for the Lord has destroyed their cattle.

And the remnants of peace shall cease before the anger of my wrath.

He has forsaken his lair like a lion, for their land has become an untrodden waste before the great sword.
