Joshua 11

And when Iabin king of Asor heard, he sent to Iobab king of Marron, and to the king of Symoon, and to the king of Aziph,

and to the kings who were by great Sidon, unto the hill country and unto Raba opposite Keneroth, and unto the plain and unto Napheddor,

and to the Canaanites along the coast from the east, and to the Amorites along the coast, and the Hivites and the Jebusites and the Perizzites in the mountain, and the Hittites under Aermon, into the land of Massepha.

And they came out, they and their kings with them, as the sand of the sea in multitude, with horses and very many chariots.

And all these kings assembled and came together to the same place, and they encamped at the water of Marron to make war against Israel.

And the Lord said to Joshua: Do not be afraid before them, for tomorrow at this hour I am handing them over routed before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.

And Joshua came, and all the warrior people, upon them at the water of Marron suddenly, and they fell upon them in the hill country.

And the Lord delivered them into the hands of Israel; and cutting them down they pursued them as far as great Sidon and as far as Maseron and as far as the plains of Massoch toward the east; and they cut them down until there was not left of them one saved.

And Joshua did to them as the Lord had commanded him: he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.

And Joshua turned back at that time and captured Asor and its king; now Asor formerly was the head of all these kingdoms.

And they killed every breathing thing in it with the sword and utterly destroyed them all; and there was not left in it a breathing thing. And they burned Asor with fire.

And all the cities of the kings and their kings Joshua took, and he put them to death with the mouth of the sword and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the Lord had directed.

But all the cities that stood on their mounds Israel did not burn; only Asor alone did Joshua burn.

And all its spoils the sons of Israel plundered for themselves; but all of them they utterly destroyed with the mouth of the sword until he had destroyed them; they did not leave of them even one breathing thing.

As the Lord directed Moses his servant, so Moses likewise commanded Joshua; and so Joshua did; he did not transgress anything of all that Moses directed him.

And Joshua took all that land: the hill country and all the Nageb and all the land of Gosom and the lowland and the region toward the west and the mountain of Israel and the low places,

the parts by the mountain, from Mount Achel and that which goes up to Seir, and as far as Baalgad and the plains of Lebanon under Mount Aermon; and all their kings he took and destroyed and put to death.

And Joshua made war against these kings for many days.

And there was no city that Israel did not take; they took all in war.

For it came about through the Lord to strengthen their heart to meet Israel in battle, that they might be utterly destroyed, so that mercy should not be given them, but that they might be utterly destroyed, as the Lord had said to Moses.

And Joshua came at that time and utterly destroyed the Enakim from the hill country, from Chebron and from Dabir and from Anaboth, and from all the race of Israel and from all the mountain of Judah, together with their cities; and Joshua utterly destroyed them.

There was not left of the Enakim among the sons of Israel; but only in Gaza and in Geth and in Asedoth were any left.

And Joshua took all the land, according as the Lord commanded Moses; and Joshua gave them as an inheritance to Israel, by division according to their tribes. And the land ceased from being warred upon.
