a refuge for the manslayer who has struck down a soul unintentionally; and the cities shall be for you a refuge, and the manslayer shall not die at the hand of the one who avenges the blood, until he stands before the congregation for judgment.
And he set apart Kades in Galilee in the hill country of Nephthali, and Sychem in the hill country of Ephraim, and the city of Arbok (this is Chebron) in the hill country of Judah.
And beyond the Iordanes he gave Bosor in the wilderness in the plain from the tribe of Rouben, and Aremoth in Galaad from the tribe of Gad, and Gaulon in Basanitis from the tribe of Manasse.
These are the cities appointed for the sons of Israel and for the sojourner residing among them, so that anyone who strikes down a soul unintentionally may flee there, that he may not die at the hand of the one who avenges the blood, until he stands before the congregation for judgment.
