and to the Canaanites along the coast from the east, and to the Amorites along the coast, and the Hivites and the Jebusites and the Perizzites in the mountain, and the Hittites under Aermon, into the land of Massepha.
And the Lord said to Joshua: Do not be afraid before them, for tomorrow at this hour I am handing them over routed before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.
And the Lord delivered them into the hands of Israel; and cutting them down they pursued them as far as great Sidon and as far as Maseron and as far as the plains of Massoch toward the east; and they cut them down until there was not left of them one saved.
And they killed every breathing thing in it with the sword and utterly destroyed them all; and there was not left in it a breathing thing. And they burned Asor with fire.
And all the cities of the kings and their kings Joshua took, and he put them to death with the mouth of the sword and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the Lord had directed.
And all its spoils the sons of Israel plundered for themselves; but all of them they utterly destroyed with the mouth of the sword until he had destroyed them; they did not leave of them even one breathing thing.
As the Lord directed Moses his servant, so Moses likewise commanded Joshua; and so Joshua did; he did not transgress anything of all that Moses directed him.
And Joshua took all that land: the hill country and all the Nageb and all the land of Gosom and the lowland and the region toward the west and the mountain of Israel and the low places,
the parts by the mountain, from Mount Achel and that which goes up to Seir, and as far as Baalgad and the plains of Lebanon under Mount Aermon; and all their kings he took and destroyed and put to death.
For it came about through the Lord to strengthen their heart to meet Israel in battle, that they might be utterly destroyed, so that mercy should not be given them, but that they might be utterly destroyed, as the Lord had said to Moses.
And Joshua came at that time and utterly destroyed the Enakim from the hill country, from Chebron and from Dabir and from Anaboth, and from all the race of Israel and from all the mountain of Judah, together with their cities; and Joshua utterly destroyed them.
And Joshua took all the land, according as the Lord commanded Moses; and Joshua gave them as an inheritance to Israel, by division according to their tribes. And the land ceased from being warred upon.
