利未記 第 5 章

But if a soul sins, and hears the voice of an adjuration, and this one is a witness — either he has seen or he knows — if he does not report it, he shall bear the sin.

Or a soul which touches any unclean thing, whether a carcass, or something unclean torn by a wild animal, or the carcasses, or the unclean abominations, or the carcasses of unclean livestock,

or touches a human uncleanness, any uncleanness of his by touching which one is defiled, and it escaped him, but after this he comes to know it and has become guilty of an offence;

or a soul which swears, uttering rashly with the lips to do evil or to do good, according to all that a person may utter rashly with an oath, and it escaped him, out of sight, and afterward this one comes to know it and has sinned in some one of these things —

then he shall confess the sin in regard to the things in which he has sinned against it,

and he shall bring, for what he offended against the Lord, for the sin which he sinned, a female from the flock, a ewe lamb or a female kid of the goats, for sin. And the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin which he sinned, and the sin shall be forgiven him.

But if his hand is not strong enough for a sheep, he shall bring for his sin which he sinned two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the Lord, one for sin and one for a whole burnt offering.

And he shall bring them to the priest, and the priest shall offer the one for sin first, and the priest shall pinch off its head from the neck bone, but he shall not divide it.

And he shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the wall of the altar, and the rest of the blood he shall drain out at the base of the altar. For it is a sin offering.

And the second he shall make a whole burnt offering, as is fitting. And the priest shall make atonement for his sin which he sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.

But if his hand cannot find a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons, then he shall bring as his gift for what he sinned a tenth of an oiphi of fine flour for sin. He shall not pour oil on it nor put frankincense on it, because it is for sin.

And he shall bring it to the priest, and the priest, having grasped from it a full handful as its memorial portion, shall put it on the altar of the whole burnt offerings to the Lord. It is a sin offering.

And the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin which he sinned in one of these things, and it shall be forgiven him. And what is left shall be for the priest, like the sacrifice of fine flour.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

If forgetfulness overtakes a soul and he sins unintentionally in regard to the holy things of the Lord, then he shall bring for his offence to the Lord a ram without blemish from the flock, of the value of shekels of silver, by the shekel of the holy things, for that in which he offended.

And what he sinned in regard to the holy things, he shall repay it and shall add the fifth to it and shall give it to the priest. And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the offence, and it shall be forgiven him.

And the soul that sins and does one of all the commandments of the Lord which ought not to be done, and did not know it, and has become guilty of an offence and bears the sin —

then he shall bring to the priest a ram without blemish from the flock, of the value in silver, for a trespass. And the priest shall make atonement for him for his ignorance in which he was ignorant, and he himself did not know it, and it shall be forgiven him.

For he did indeed commit an offence, an offence before the Lord.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

If a soul sins and utterly disregards the commandments of the Lord, and lies to his neighbour concerning a deposit, or concerning a partnership, or concerning robbery, or has wronged his neighbour in some way,

or has found something lost and lies about it and swears unjustly concerning any one of all the things a person may do so as to sin in them —

then it shall be, when he sins and becomes guilty of an offence, that he shall restore the plunder which he plundered, or the wrong which he did, or the deposit which was deposited with him, or the lost thing which he found,

of everything concerning which he swore unjustly. And he shall repay it — the principal — and shall add the fifth to it; to whomever it belongs, to him he shall give it on the day he is convicted.

And for his offence he shall bring to the Lord a ram from the flock, without blemish, of the value of that in which he offended.

And the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord, and it shall be forgiven him concerning any one of all the things which he did and in which he became guilty of an offence.
