2:1
ወተወሊዶ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በቤተ ልሔም ዘይሁዳ በመዋዕለ ሄሮድስ ንጉሥ ናሁ መጽኡ መሰግላን እምብሔረ ጽባሕ ወበጽሑ ውስተ ኢየሩሳሌም።
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying,
當希律王的時候，耶穌生在猶太的伯利恆。有幾個博士從東方來到耶路撒冷，說：
2:2
እንዘ ይብሉ አይቴ ሀሎ ዘተወልደ ንጉሠ አይሁድ እስመ ርኢነ ኮከበ ዚኣሁ በምሥራቅ ወመጻእነ ከመ ንስግድ ሎቱ።
“Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”
「那生下來作猶太人之王的在哪裏？我們在東方看見他的星，特來拜他。」
2:3
ወሰሚዖ ሄሮድስ ንጉሥ ደንገፀ ወተሀውከ ወኵላ ኢየሩሳሌም ምስሌሁ።
When King Herod heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
希律王聽見了，就心裏不安；耶路撒冷合城的人也都不安。
2:4
ወአስተጋብኦሙ ሄሮድስ ለኵሎሙ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍተ ሕዝብ ወተስእሎሙ ወይቤሎሙ በአይቴ ይትወለድ ክርስቶስ።
Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ would be born.
他就召齊了祭司長和民間的文士，問他們說：「基督當生在何處？」
2:5
ወይቤልዎ በቤተ ልሔም ዘይሁዳ እስመ ከማሁ ጽሑፍ በነቢይ።
They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for this is written through the prophet,
他們回答說：「在猶太的伯利恆。因為有先知記着，說：
2:6
«ወአንቲኒ ቤተ ልሔም ምድረ ኤፍራታ ኢትቴሐቲ እምነገሥተ ይሁዳ እስመ እምኔኪ ይወፅእ ንጉሥ ዘይርዕዮሙ ለሕዝብየ እስራኤል።»
‘You Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah; for out of you shall come a governor who shall shepherd my people, Israel.’”
猶大地的伯利恆啊， 你在猶大諸城中並不是最小的； 因為將來有一位君王要從你那裏出來， 牧養我以色列民。」
2:7
ወእምዝ ጸውዖሙ ሄሮድስ ለሰብአ ሰገል ጽሚተ ወተጠየቀ እምኀቤሆሙ መዋዕሊሁ በዘአስተርአዮሙ ኮከብ።
Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.
當下，希律暗暗地召了博士來，細問那星是甚麼時候出現的，
2:8
ወፈነዎሙ ኀበ ቤተ ልሔም ወይቤሎሙ ሐዊረክሙ ተሰአሉ ጥዩቀ በእንተ ውእቱ ሕፃን ወእምከመ ረከብክምዎ ግብኡ ኀቤየ ወዜንዉኒ ከመ እምጻእ አነሂ ወእስግድ ሎቱ።
He sent them to Bethlehem, and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.”
就差他們往伯利恆去，說：「你們去仔細尋訪那小孩子，尋到了就來報信，我也好去拜他。」
2:9
ወሰሚዖሙ እምኀበ ንጉሥ ሖሩ ወናሁ ኮከብ ዘርእዩ እምሥራቅ ይመርሖሙ እስከ ሶበ አብጽሖሙ ቤተ ልሔም ወቆመ መልዕልተ በኣት ኀበ ሀሎ ሕፃን።
They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them until it came and stood over where the young child was.
他們聽見王的話就去了。在東方所看見的那星忽然在他們前頭行，直行到小孩子的地方，就在上頭停住了。
2:10
ወርእዮሙ ኮከበ ተፈሥሑ ዐቢየ ፍሥሓ።
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
他們看見那星，就大大地歡喜；
2:11
ወበዊኦሙ ውስተ ቤት ረከብዎ ለሕፃን ምስለ ማርያም እሙ ወወድቁ ወሰገዱ ሎቱ ወአርኀዉ መዛግብቲሆሙ ወአብኡ ሎቱ አምኃ ወርቀ ከርቤ ወስኂነ።
They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
進了房子，看見小孩子和他母親馬利亞，就俯伏拜那小孩子，揭開寶盒，拿黃金、乳香、沒藥為禮物獻給他。
2:12
ወነገሮሙ በሕልም ከመ ኢይግብኡ ኀበ ሄሮድስ ወእንተ ካልእት ፍኖት ገብኡ ወአተዉ ብሔሮሙ።
Being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.
博士因為在夢中被主指示不要回去見希律，就從別的路回本地去了。
2:13
ወእምድኅረ ኀለፉ እሉ ናሁ መልአከ እግዚአብሔር አስተርአዮ በሕልም ለዮሴፍ እንዘ ይብል ተንሥእ ወንሣእ ሕፃነ ወእሞ ወጕየይ ውስተ ብሔረ ግብፅ ወሀሉ ህየ እስከ አመ እነግረከ።
Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”
他們去後，有主的使者向約瑟夢中顯現，說：「起來！帶着小孩子同他母親逃往埃及，住在那裏，等我吩咐你；因為希律必尋找小孩子，要除滅他。」
2:14
እስመ ሀለዎ ለሄሮድስ ይኅሥሦ ለሕፃን ከመ ይቅትሎ ወተንሢኦ ነሥአ ሕፃነ ወእሞ በሌሊት ወሖረ ብሔረ ግብፅ።
He arose and took the young child and his mother by night and departed into Egypt,
約瑟就起來，夜間帶着小孩子和他母親往埃及去，
2:15
ወነበረ ህየ እስከ አመ ሞቱ ለሄሮድስ ከመ ይትፈጸም ዘተብህለ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር በነቢይ እንዘ ይብል «እምግብፅ ጸዋዕክዎ ለወልድየ።»
and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”
住在那裏，直到希律死了。這是要應驗主藉先知所說的話，說：「我從埃及召出我的兒子來。」
2:16
ወሶበ ርእየ ሄሮድስ ከመ ተሣለቁ ላዕሌሁ ሰብአ ሰገል ተምዕዐ ጥቀ ወፈነወ ሐራሁ ወአዘዘ ይቅትሉ ኵሎ ሕፃናተ ዘቤተ ልሔም ወዘውስተ ኵሉ አድያሚሃ ዘክልኤ ዓመት ወዘይንእስሂ እምኔሁ በሐሳበ መዋዕል ዘተጠየቀ እምኀበ ሰብአ ሰገል።
Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men.
希律見自己被博士愚弄，就大大發怒，差人將伯利恆城裏並四境所有的男孩，照着他向博士仔細查問的時候，凡兩歲以裏的，都殺盡了。
2:17
አሜሃ ተፈጸመ ዘተብህለ በኤርምያስ ነቢይ እንዘ ይብል።
Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying,
這就應了先知耶利米的話，說：
2:18
«ቃል በራማ ተሰምዐ ብካይ ወገዐር ወሰቆቃው ራሄል እንዘ ትበኪ በእንተ ውሉዳ ወአበየት ተናዝዞ ወነጊፈ ላህ እስመ ኢኮንዋ ውሉዳ ውሉደ ወኢሀለዉ።»
“A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; she wouldn’t be comforted, because they are no more.”
在拉瑪聽見號咷大哭的聲音， 是拉結哭她兒女， 不肯受安慰， 因為他們都不在了。
2:19
ወመዊቶ ሄሮድስ ናሁ መልአከ እግዚአብሔር አስተርአዮ በሕልም ለዮሴፍ በብሔረ ግብፅ።
But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying,
希律死了以後，有主的使者在埃及向約瑟夢中顯現，說：
2:20
እንዘ ይብል ተንሥእ ወንሣእ ሕፃነ ወእሞ ወሑር ውስተ ምድረ እስራኤል እስመ ሞቱ እለ የኀሥሥዋ ለነፍሰ ዝ ሕፃን።
“Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel, for those who sought the young child’s life are dead.”
「起來！帶着小孩子和他母親往以色列地去，因為要害小孩子性命的人已經死了。」
2:21
ወተንሢኦ ነሥአ ሕፃነ ወእሞ ወቦአ ውስተ ምድረ እስራኤል።
He arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
約瑟就起來，把小孩子和他母親帶到以色列地去；
2:22
ወሰሚዖ ከመ አርኬላኦስ ነግሠ ለይሁዳ ህየንተ አቡሁ ሄሮድስ ፈርሀ ሐዊረ ህየ ወአስተርአዮ በሕልም ወተግኅሠ ውስተ ደወለ ገሊላ።
But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of Galilee,
只因聽見亞基老接着他父親希律作了猶太王，就怕往那裏去，又在夢中被主指示，便往加利利境內去了，
2:23
ወበጺሖ ኀደረ ውስተ ብሔር እንተ ስማ ናዝሬት ከመ ይብጻሕ ወይትፈጸም ዘተብህለ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር በነቢይ «ከመ ናዝራዊ ይሰመይ ወልድየ።»
and came and lived in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets that he will be called a Nazarene.
到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那裏。這是要應驗先知所說，他將稱為拿撒勒人的話了。
