3:1
ወበውእቱ መዋዕል መጽአ ዮሐንስ መጥምቅ እንዘ ይሰብክ በገዳመ ይሁዳ ዘዮርዳኖስ።
In those days, John the Baptizer came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,
那時，有施洗的約翰出來，在猶太的曠野傳道，說：
3:2
እንዘ ይብል ነስሑ እስመ ቀርበት መንግሥተ ሰማያት።
“Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”
「天國近了，你們應當悔改！」
3:3
እስመ ዝንቱ ውእቱ ዘተብህለ በኢሳይያስ ነቢይ እንዘ ይብል «ቃለ ዐዋዲ ዘይሰብክ በገዳም ወይብል ጺሑአ ፍኖቶ ለእግዚአብሔር ወዐርዩ መጽያሕቶ።»
For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make the way of the Lord ready! Make his paths straight!”
這人就是先知以賽亞所說的。他說：「在曠野有人聲喊着說： 預備主的道， 修直他的路！」
3:4
ወልብሱ ለዮሐንስ እምፀጕረ ገመል ወቅናቱ ዘአዲም ውስተ ሐቌሁ ወሲሳዩ አንበጣ ወመዓረ ገዳም።
Now John himself wore clothing made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
這約翰身穿駱駝毛的衣服，腰束皮帶，吃的是蝗蟲、野蜜。
3:5
ወይመጽኡ ኀቤሁ ኵሎሙ ሰብአ ኢየሩሳሌም ወኵሎሙ ሰብአ ይሁዳ ወኵሉ አድያሚሃ ለዮርዳኖስ።
Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.
那時，耶路撒冷和猶太全地，並約旦河一帶地方的人，都出去到約翰那裏，
3:6
ወያጠምቆሙ በፈለገ ዮርዳኖስ እንዘ ይትአመኑ ኀጣውኢሆሙ።
They were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
承認他們的罪，在約旦河裏受他的洗。
3:7
ወሶበ ርእየ ብዙኃነ እምፈሪሳውያን ወሰዱቃውያን እንዘ ይመጽኡ ውስተ ጥምቀቱ ጽሚተ ይቤሎሙ ኦ ትውልደ አራዊተ ምድር መኑ አመረክሙ ከመ ታምሥጡ እመቅሠፍት ወእመንሱት ወእመዐት ዘይመጽእ።
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his baptism, he said to them, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
約翰看見許多法利賽人和撒都該人也來受洗，就對他們說：「毒蛇的種類！誰指示你們逃避將來的忿怒呢？
3:8
ግበሩኬ እንከ ፍሬ ሠናየ ዘይደልወክሙ ለንስሓ።
Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance!
你們要結出果子來，與悔改的心相稱。
3:9
ወኢይምሰልክሙ ዘታመሥጡ በብሂለ አብ ብነ አብርሃም እብለክሙ ከመ ይክል እግዚአብሔር እምእላንቱ አእባን አንሥኦ ውሉድ ለአብርሃም።
Don’t think to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
不要自己心裏說：『有亞伯拉罕為我們的祖宗。』我告訴你們，上帝能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起子孫來。
3:10
እስመ ናሁ ወድአ ማሕፄ ተሠይመ ውስተ ጕንደ ዕፀው ይንበር ኵሉኬ ዕፅ ዘኢይፈሪ ፍሬ ሠናየ ይትገዘም ወውስተ እሳት ይትወደይ።
Even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
現在斧子已經放在樹根上，凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裏。
3:11
አንሰኬ አጠምቀክሙ በማይ ለንስሓ ወዘእምድኅሬየሰ ይመጽእ ውእቱ ይጸንዕ እምኔየ ዘኢይደልወኒ እጹር አሣእኖ ወውእቱ ያጠምቀክሙ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ወበእሳት።
“I indeed baptize you in water for repentance, but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
我是用水給你們施洗，叫你們悔改。但那在我以後來的，能力比我更大，我就是給他提鞋也不配。他要用聖靈與火給你們施洗。
3:12
ዘመሥኤ ውስተ እዴሁ ዘቦቱ ያነጽሕ ዐውደ እክሉ ወያስተጋብእ ሥርናዮ ውስተ መዛግብቲሁ ወሐሠሮሰ ያውዒ በእሳት ዘኢይጠፍእ።
His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.”
他手裏拿着簸箕，要揚淨他的場，把麥子收在倉裏，把糠用不滅的火燒盡了。」
3:13
አሜሃ መጽአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እምገሊላ ውስተ ዮርዳኖስ ከመ ይጠመቅ እም ዮሐንስ በፈለገ ዮርዳኖስ።
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.
當下，耶穌從加利利來到約旦河，見了約翰，要受他的洗。
3:14
ወዮሐንስሰ አበዮ እንዘ ይብል አነ እፈቅድ እምኀቤከ እጠመቅ ወአንተኑ ትመጽእ ኀቤየ።
But John would have hindered him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?”
約翰想要攔住他，說：「我當受你的洗，你反倒上我這裏來嗎？」
3:15
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ ኅድግ ምዕረሰ እስመ ከመዝ ተድላ ለነ ወይደልወነ ከመ ንፈጽም ኵሎ ጽድቀ ወእምዝ ኀደጎ።
But Jesus, answering, said to him, “Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.
耶穌回答說：「你暫且許我，因為我們理當這樣盡諸般的義 。」於是約翰許了他。
3:16
ወተጠሚቆ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ሶቤሃ ወፅአ እማይ ወናሁ ተርኅወ ሎቱ ሰማይ ወርእየ መንፈሰ እግዚአብሔር እንዘ ይወርድ በአምሳለ ርግብ ወነበረ ዲቤሁ።
Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.
耶穌受了洗，隨即從水裏上來。天忽然為他開了，他就看見上帝的靈彷彿鴿子降下，落在他身上。
3:17
ወናሁ መጽአ ቃል እምሰማይ ዘይብል ዝንቱ ውእቱ ወልድየ ዘአፈቅር ዘቦቱ ሠመርኩ።
Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
從天上有聲音說：「這是我的愛子，我所喜悅的。」
