23:1
ወእምዝ ነገሮሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለሕዝብ ወለአርዳእሁ እንዘ ይብል ።
Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to his disciples,
那時，耶穌對眾人和門徒講論，
23:2
ዲበ መንበረ ሙሴ ነበሩ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን ።
saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat.
說：「文士和法利賽人坐在摩西的位上，
23:3
ኵሎ ዘመሀሩክሙ ግበሩ ወዕቀቡ ወዘከመ ምግባሮሙሰ ኢትግበሩ እስመ እሙንቱ ዘይሜህሩ ለሰብእ ኢይገብሩ ።
All things therefore whatever they tell you to observe, observe and do, but don’t do their works; for they say, and don’t do.
凡他們所吩咐你們的，你們都要謹守遵行。但不要效法他們的行為；因為他們能說，不能行。
23:4
ወየአስሩ ጾረ ዐቢየ ወክቡደ ወያሰክምዎ ለሰብእ ዲበ መትከፍቱ ወለሊሆሙሰ ኢይለክፍዎ ጥቀ በአጽባዕቶሙ ።
For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not lift a finger to help them.
他們把難擔的重擔捆起來，擱在人的肩上，但自己一個指頭也不肯動。
23:5
ወኵሎ ምግባሮሙ ዘይገብሩ ለዐይነ ሰብእ ይገብሩ ወይሰፍሑ ኵርበታቲሆሙ ወያዐብዩ አዝፋረ አልባሲሆሙ ።
But they do all their works to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the fringes of their garments,
他們一切所做的事都是要叫人看見，所以將佩戴的經文做寬了，衣裳的繸子做長了，
23:6
ወያፈቅሩ ርእሰ ምርፋቃት በውስተ ምሳሐት ወነቢረ ፍጽም በውስተ አዕዋዳት ።
and love the place of honor at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
喜愛筵席上的首座，會堂裏的高位，
23:7
ወተአምኆ በውስተ ምሥያጣት ከመ ይበሎሙ ሰብእ መምህራነ ።
the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi, Rabbi’ by men.
又喜愛人在街市上問他安，稱呼他拉比 。
23:8
አንትሙሰኬ ኢትሰመዩ መምህረ በዲበ ምድር እስመ አሐዱ ውእቱ መምህርክሙ ወአንትሙሰ አኀው ኵልክሙ ።
But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi’, for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers.
但你們不要受拉比的稱呼，因為只有一位是你們的夫子；你們都是弟兄。
23:9
ወኢትረስዩ አበ በዲበ ምድር እስመ አሐዱ ውእቱ አቡክሙ ሰማያዊ ።
Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven.
也不要稱呼地上的人為父，因為只有一位是你們的父，就是在天上的父。
23:10
ወኢትስምዩ እግዚአ በዲበ ምድር እስመ አሐዱ ውእቱ እግዚእክሙ ክርስቶስ ።
Neither be called masters, for one is your master, the Christ.
也不要受師尊的稱呼，因為只有一位是你們的師尊，就是基督。
23:11
ወባሕቱ ዘይልህቀክሙ ይኩንክሙ ላእከ ።
But he who is greatest among you will be your servant.
你們中間誰為大，誰就要作你們的用人。
23:12
እስመ ዘአዕበየ ርእሶ የኀሥር ወዘአትሐተ ርእሶ ይከብር ።
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
凡自高的，必降為卑；自卑的，必升為高。
23:13
አሌ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን መደልዋን እስመ ትበልዑ አብያተ መበለታት በምክንያተ አንኆ ጸሎትክሙ ወበእንተ ዝንቱ ትረክቡ ኵነኔ ፈድፋደ ።
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們正當人前，把天國的門關了，自己不進去，正要進去的人，你們也不容他們進去。
23:14
አሌ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን መደልዋን እስመ ተዐጽዉ መንግሥተ ሰማያት ቅድመ ገጹ ለሰብእ አንትሙሂ ኢትበውኡ ወለእለሂ ይበውኡ ትከልእዎሙ በዊአ ።
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter.
「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們正當人前，把天國的門關了，自己不進去，正要進去的人，你們也不容他們進去。
23:15
አሌ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ፥ ወፈሪሳውያን መደልዋን እስመ ተዐውዱ ባሕረ ወየብሰ ከመ ታጥምቁ አሐደ ፈላሴ ወተጠሚቆ ትሬስይዎ ካዕበተክሙ ወልደ ገሃነም ።
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of Gehenna as yourselves.
「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們走遍洋海陸地，勾引一個人入教，既入了教，卻使他作地獄之子，比你們還加倍。
23:16
አሌ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን አምርሕተ ዕዉራን እለ ትብሉ ዘመሐለ በቤተ መቅደስ ኢይጌጊ ወዘሰ መሐለ በወርቀ ቤተ መቅደስ ይጌጊ ።
“Woe to you, you blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.’
「你們這瞎眼領路的有禍了！你們說：『凡指着殿起誓的，這算不得甚麼；只是凡指着殿中金子起誓的，他就該謹守。』
23:17
ኦ አብዳን ወዕዉራን አይኑ የዐቢ ወርቅኑ ወሚመ ቤተ መቅደስ አኮኑ ቤተ መቅደስ ዘይቄድሶ ለወርቅ ።
You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold?
你們這無知瞎眼的人哪，甚麼是大的？是金子呢？還是叫金子成聖的殿呢？
23:18
ዘሰ መሐለ በምሥዋዕ ኢይጌጊ ትብሉ ወዘሰ መሐለ በጽንሓሕ ዘላዕሌሁ ይጌጊ ትብሉ ።
And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obligated.’
你們又說：『凡指着壇起誓的，這算不得甚麼；只是凡指着壇上禮物起誓的，他就該謹守。』
23:19
ኦ አብዳን ወዕዉራን አይኑ የዐቢ ጽንሓሕኑ ወሚመ ምሥዋዕ አኮኑ ምሥዋዕ ዘይቄድሶ ለውእቱ ጽንሓሕ ።
You blind fools! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift?
你們這瞎眼的人哪，甚麼是大的？是禮物呢？還是叫禮物成聖的壇呢？
23:20
ዘሰኬ መሐለ በምሥዋዕ መሐለ ቦቱ ወበኵሉ ዘይነብር ዲቤሁ ።
He therefore who swears by the altar, swears by it and by everything on it.
所以，人指着壇起誓，就是指着壇和壇上一切所有的起誓；
23:21
ወዘሂ መሐለ በቤተ መቅደስ መሐለ ቦቱ ወበኵሉ ዘይነብር ውስቴቱ ።
He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by him who has been living in it.
人指着殿起誓，就是指着殿和那住在殿裏的起誓；
23:22
ወዘሂ መሐለ በሰማይ መሐለ በመንበሩ ለእግዚአብሔር ወበዘይነብር ዲቤሁ ።
He who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by him who sits on it.
人指着天起誓，就是指着上帝的寶座和那坐在上面的起誓。
23:23
አሌ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን መደልዋን እለ ታበውኡ ዐሥራተ እዴሁ ለአዛብ ወለሲላን ወለከሙን ወኀደግሙ ዘየዐቢ ትእዛዛተ ኦሪት ፍትሐ ወጽድቀ ወሃይማኖተ ዘኒ መፍትው ትግበሩ ወዝክተኒ ኢትኅድጉ ።
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們將薄荷、茴香、芹菜獻上十分之一，那律法上更重的事，就是公義、憐憫、信實，反倒不行了。這更重的是你們當行的；那也是不可不行的。
23:24
አምርሕተ ዕዉራን እለ ጻጹተ ትነጥፉ ወገመለሰ ትውኅጡ ።
You blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel!
你們這瞎眼領路的，蠓蟲你們就濾出來，駱駝你們倒吞下去。
23:25
አሌ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን መደልዋን እለ ተኀፅብዎ ለጽዋዕ ወለጻሕል እንተ አፍኣሁ ወውስጡሰ ምሉእ ሀዪደ ወዐመፃ ወትዕግልተ ።
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and unrighteousness.
「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們洗淨杯盤的外面，裏面卻盛滿了勒索和放蕩。
23:26
ኦ ፈሪሳዊ ዕዉር ቅድመ ኅፅቦ ለጽዋዕ ፥ ወለጻሕል እንተ ውስጡ ፥ ከመ ይኩን ንጹሐ እንተ አፍኣሁኒ ።
You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that its outside may become clean also.
你這瞎眼的法利賽人，先洗淨杯盤的裏面，好叫外面也乾淨了。
23:27
አሌ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን መደልዋን እለ ትመስሉ መቃብራተ ግብሱሳነ እለ እንተ አፍኣሆሙ ያስተርእዩ ሠናያነ ወእንተ ውስጦሙሰ ምሉኣን አዕፅምተ ወአብድንተ ወኵሎ ርኵሰ ።
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones and of all uncleanness.
「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們好像粉飾的墳墓，外面好看，裏面卻裝滿了死人的骨頭和一切的污穢。
23:28
ከማሁኬ አንትሙኒ እንተ አፍኣክሙ ትጼደቁ ለዐይነ ሰብእ ወእንተ ውስጥክሙሰ ምሉኣን አንትሙ ዐመፃ ወሀዪደ ወአድልዎ ።
Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
你們也是如此，在人前，外面顯出公義來，裏面卻裝滿了假善和不法的事。
23:29
አሌ ለክሙ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን መደልዋን እለ ትነድቁ መቃብሪሆሙ ለነቢያት ወታስተሣንዩ ዝኅሮሙ ለጻድቃን ።
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the tombs of the righteous,
「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們建造先知的墳，修飾義人的墓，說：
23:30
ወትብሉ ሶበሰ ሀለውነ በመዋዕለ አበዊነ እምኢተሳተፍነ ምስሌሆሙ በደመ ነቢያት ።
and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we wouldn’t have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’
『若是我們在我們祖宗的時候，必不和他們同流先知的血。』
23:31
ናሁኬ ለሊክሙ ተአምኑ ፥ ከመ ደቂቆሙ አንትሙ ለቀተልተ ነቢያት ።
Therefore you testify to yourselves that you are children of those who killed the prophets.
這就是你們自己證明是殺害先知者的子孫了。
23:32
አንትሙሂ ፈጽሙ መስፈርተ አበዊክሙ ።
Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.
你們去充滿你們祖宗的惡貫吧！
23:33
ኦ አፍዖታት ! ትውልደ አራዊተ ምድር ፥ በእፎ ትክሉ አምስጦ እምኵነኔ ገሃነም ።
You serpents, you offspring of vipers, how will you escape the judgment of Gehenna?
你們這些蛇類、毒蛇之種啊，怎能逃脫地獄的刑罰呢？
23:34
ወበእንተዝ ናሁ አነ እፌኑ ኀቤክሙ ነቢያተ ወጠቢባነ ወጸሐፍተ ወትቀትሉ እምውስቴቶሙ ወትሰቅሉ ወትቀሥፉ በመኳርብቲክሙ ወትሰድድዎሙ እምሀገር ውስተ ሀገር ።
Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,
所以我差遣先知和智慧人並文士到你們這裏來，有的你們要殺害，要釘十字架；有的你們要在會堂裏鞭打，從這城追逼到那城，
23:35
ከመ ይብጻሕ ላዕሌክሙ ደመ ኵሎሙ ጻድቃን ዘተክዕወ ዲበ ምድር እምደመ አቤል ጻድቅ እስከ ደመ ዘካርያስ ወልደ በራክዩ ዘቀተልክምዎ በማእከለ ቤተ መቅደስ ወምሥዋዕ ።
that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.
叫世上所流義人的血都歸到你們身上，從義人亞伯的血起，直到你們在殿和壇中間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止。
23:36
አማን እብለክሙ ከመ ዝንቱ ኵሉ ይበጽሓ ለዛቲ ትውልድ ።
Most certainly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.
我實在告訴你們，這一切的罪都要歸到這世代了。」
23:37
ኢየሩሳሌም ኢየሩሳሌም እንተ ትቀትሎሙ ለነቢያት ወትዌግሮሙ ለሐዋርያት እለ ተፈነዉ ኀቤሃ ሚመጠነ ፈቀድኩ አስተጋብኦሙ ለውሉድኪ ከመ እንተ ታስተጋብእ ዶርሆ ዕጐሊሃ ታሕተ ክነፊሃ ወአበይክሙ ።
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!
「耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死那奉差遣到你這裏來的人。我多次願意聚集你的兒女，好像母雞把小雞聚集在翅膀底下，只是你們不願意。
23:38
ናሁ ይትኀደግ ለክሙ ቤትክሙ በድወ ።
Behold, your house is left to you desolate.
看哪，你們的家成為荒場留給你們。
23:39
አማን እብለክሙ እምይእዜሰ ኢትሬእዩኒ እስከ ሶበ ትብሉ «ቡሩክ ዘይመጽእ በስመ እግዚአብሔር ።»
For I tell you, you will not see me from now on, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
我告訴你們，從今以後，你們不得再見我，直等到你們說：『奉主名來的是應當稱頌的。』」
