Πόλλην γε μὴν εἰς πολλοὺς ἐπιδειξάμενος ὁ Δομετιανὸς ὠμότητα, οὐκ ἀλίγον τε τῶν ἐπὶ Ῥώμης εὐπατριδῶν τε καὶ ἐπισήμων ἀνδρῶν πλῆθος οὐ μετ εὐλόγου κρίσεως κτείνας, μυρίους τε ἄλλους ἐπιφανεῖς ἄνδρας ταῖς ὑπὲρ τὴν ἐνορίαν ζημιώσας φυγαῖς καὶ ταῖς τῶν οὐσιῶν ἀποβολαῖς ἀναιτίως, τελευτῶν τῆς Νέρωνος θεοεχθρίας τε καὶ θεομαχίας διάδοχον ἑαυτὸν κατεστήσατο. δεύτερος δῆτα τὸν καθ ἡμῶν ἀνεκίνει διωγμὸν, καίπερ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῷ Οὐεσπασιανοῦ μηδὲν καθ ἡμῶν ἄτοπον ἐπινοήσαντος.
Now Domitian, having displayed great cruelty toward many, and having put to death no small number of the nobles and notable men at Rome without reasonable judgement, and having punished countless other illustrious men, without cause, with banishment beyond the borders and with the loss of their property, at last established himself as the successor of Nero's enmity toward God and warfare against God. He was indeed the second to stir up the persecution against us, although his father Vespasian had devised nothing amiss against us.
多米田向許多人施行極大的殘暴，未經合理的審判就處死了羅馬不少的貴族和顯要之人，又無故將無數別的名人處以放逐出境、沒收家產的刑罰，末了竟立自己作尼祿與神為敵、與神爭戰之事的繼承人。他確是第二個興起逼迫攻擊我們的人，雖然他父親維斯帕先未曾向我們圖謀甚麼不當的事。
