Genesis 36

And these are the generations of Esau; he is Edom.

And Esau took wives for himself from the daughters of the Canaanites: Ada the daughter of Ailon the Hittite, and Elibema the daughter of Ana the son of Sebegon the Hivite;

and Basemmath the daughter of Ishmael, the sister of Nabaioth.

And Ada bore to Esau Eliphas, and Basemmath bore Raguel.

And Elibema bore Ieous and Ieglom and Kore. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.

And Esau took his wives and his sons and his daughters and all the persons of his house and all his possessions and all his livestock and all that he had acquired and all that he had gained in the land of Canaan; and he went out of the land of Canaan from the face of Jacob his brother.

For their possessions were too many for them to dwell together, and the land of their sojourning could not bear them because of the multitude of their possessions.

So Esau dwelt in Mount Seir; Esau, he is Edom.

And these are the generations of Esau the father of Edom in Mount Seir.

And these are the names of the sons of Esau: Eliphas the son of Ada the wife of Esau, and Raguel the son of Basemmath the wife of Esau.

And the sons of Eliphas were Thaiman, Omar, Sophar, Gothom and Kenez.

And Thamna was the concubine of Eliphas the son of Esau, and she bore to Eliphas Amalek. These are the sons of Ada the wife of Esau.

And these are the sons of Raguel: Nachoth, Zare, Some and Moze. These were the sons of Basemmath the wife of Esau.

And these were the sons of Elibema the daughter of Ana the son of Sebegon, the wife of Esau; and she bore to Esau Ieous and Ieglom and Kore.

These are the chiefs, the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphas the firstborn of Esau: chief Thaiman, chief Omar, chief Sophar, chief Kenez,

chief Kore, chief Gothom, chief Amalek. These are the chiefs of Eliphas in the land of Idumea; these are the sons of Ada.

And these are the sons of Raguel the son of Esau: chief Nachoth, chief Zare, chief Some, chief Moze. These are the chiefs of Raguel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemmath the wife of Esau.

And these are the sons of Elibema the wife of Esau: chief Ieous, chief Ieglom, chief Kore. These are the chiefs of Elibema.

These are the sons of Esau, and these are their chiefs; these are the sons of Edom.

And these are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land: Lotan, Sobal, Sebegon, Ana,

and Deson and Asar and Rison. These are the chiefs of the Horite, the son of Seir, in the land of Edom.

And the sons of Lotan were Chorri and Aiman; and Thamna was the sister of Lotan.

And these are the sons of Sobal: Golon and Manachath and Gaibel, Soph and Oman.

And these are the sons of Sebegon: Aie and Onan. This is the Onas who found Iamin in the wilderness when he was tending the beasts of burden of Sebegon his father.

And these are the children of Ana: Deson and Elibema the daughter of Ana.

And these are the sons of Deson: Amada and Asban and Iethran and Charran.

And these are the sons of Asar: Balaan and Zoukam and Ioukam and Oukan.

And these are the sons of Rison: Os and Aram.

These are the chiefs of Chorri: chief Lotan, chief Sobal, chief Sebegon, chief Ana,

chief Deson, chief Asar, chief Rison. These are the chiefs of Chorri in their chiefdoms in the land of Edom.

And these are the kings who reigned in Edom before a king reigned in Israel.

And Balak the son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dennaba.

And Balak died, and Iobab the son of Zara from Bosorra reigned in his place.

And Iobab died, and Asom from the land of the Thaimanites reigned in his place.

And Asom died, and Adad the son of Barad reigned in his place, who cut down Madiam in the plain of Moab; and the name of his city was Geththaim.

And Adad died, and Samala from Masekka reigned in his place.

And Samala died, and Saul from Rooboth by the river reigned in his place.

And Saul died, and Balaennon the son of Achobor reigned in his place.

And Balaennon the son of Achobor died, and Arad the son of Barad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Phogor, and the name of his wife was Maitebeel, daughter of Matraith, son of Maizoob.

These are the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their tribes, according to their place, in their regions and among their nations: chief Thamna, chief Gola, chief Iether,

chief Elibema, chief Elas, chief Phinon,

chief Kenez, chief Thaiman, chief Mazar,

chief Megediel, chief Zaphoim. These are the chiefs of Edom in the built-up places in the land of their possession. This is Esau, the father of Edom.
