38:1
ወእምዝ ፡ ተናገሮ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ለያዕቆብ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ምስክ ፡ አባ ፡ ቀሥተከ ፡ ወፈኑ ፡ ሐጸከ ፡ ወንድፍ ፡ ጸላኤ ፡ ወቅትል ፡ ፀራዌ ፡ ወይኩን ፡ ለከ ፡ ኀይል ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢንቀትል ፡ እኅዋከ ፡ ወኀቤከ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወመምስልከ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ በኀቤነ ፡ ለክብር ።
於是猶大對他父親雅各說：「父親哪，拉你的弓，發你的箭，射那仇敵，殺那對頭，願力量歸你；因為我們不殺你兄弟，他在你跟前，於我們算為與你同等可敬。」
And then Judah spoke to Jacob his father, and said to him, Draw your bow, father, and send forth your arrow, and pierce the enemy and slay the foe; and may you have the strength, for we will not slay your brother, for he is near to you, and in our esteem he is held equal with you in honour.
38:2
ይእተ ፡ ሶቤ ፡ ወሰቀ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ቀሥቶ ፡ ወፈነወ ፡ ሐጸ ፡ ወነደፎ ፡ ለዔሳው ፡ እኁሁ ፡ ወገደሎ ፡ 3 ወደገመ ፡ ፈነወ ፡ ሐጸ ፡ ወሄጶ ፡ አዱራንሃ ፡ አራማዌ ፡ ጥቦ ፡ ፀጋማዌ ፡ ወቀተሎ ።
那時雅各拉開他的弓，發箭射他兄弟以掃，把他射倒了。他又發箭射亞蘭人亞都蘭，正中他左邊，把他殺了。
Then Jacob bent his bow and sent forth the arrow and struck Esau, his brother, (on his right breast) and slew him.
38:4
ወእምዝ ፡ ወፅኡ ፡ ውሉደ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ወአግብርቲሆሙ ፡ ተናፊቆሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መርብዕተ ፡ ማኅፈድ ።
於是雅各的眾子和他們的僕人都出去，分成幾隊，分佈在樓的四面。
And then went forth the sons of Jacob, they and their servants, dividing themselves into companies on the four sides of the tower.
38:5
ወወፅአ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ፍጽመ ፡ ወንፍታሌም ፡ ወጋድ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ወኀምሳ ፡ ደቅ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ እንተ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ደቡብ ፡ ለማኅፈድ ፡ ወቀተሉ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘረከቡ ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ዘአምሠጠ ፡ እምኔሆሙ ፡ ወኢአሐዱ ።
猶大領先出去，拿弗他利和迦得與他同去，又有五十個僕人跟著他，從樓的南面出去，把所遇見在他們面前的盡都殺了，沒有一個逃脫，連一個也沒有。
And [paragraph continues ] Judah went forth in front, and Naphtali and Gad with him and fifty servants with him on the south side of the tower, and they slew all they found before them, and not one individual of them escaped.
38:6
ወሌዊ ፡ ወዳን ፡ ወአሴር ፡ ወፅኡ ፡ እንተ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ጽባሑ ፡ ለማኅፈድ ፡ ወኀምሳ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ ወቀተሉ ፡ መስተቃትላኒሆሙ ፡ ለሞአብ ፡ ወለአሞን ።
利未、但和亞設從樓的東面出去，有五十人跟著他們，殺了摩押和亞捫的鬥士。
And Levi and Dan and Asher went forth on the east side of the tower, and fifty (men) with them, and they slew the fighting men of Moab and Ammon.
38:7
ወወፅኡ ፡ ሮቤል ፡ ወርሳኮር ፡ ወዛብሎን ፡ እንተ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ሰሜኑ ፡ ለማኅፈድ ፡ ወኀምሳ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ ወቀተሉ ፡ መስተባእሳኒሆሙ ፡ ለፍልስጥኤም ።
流便、以薩迦和西布倫從樓的北面出去，有五十人跟著他們，殺了非利士的鬥士。
And Reuben and Issachar and Zebulon went forth on the north side of the tower, and fifty men with them, and they slew the fighting men of the Philistines.
38:8
ወወፅኡ ፡ ስምዖን ፡ ወብንያም ፡ ወኤኖክ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሮቤል ፡ እንተ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ዐረቢሁ ፡ ለማኅፈድ ፡ ወኀምሳ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ ወቀተሉ ፡ እምነ ፡ ኤዶም ፡ ወእምነ ፡ ኮሬዎን ፡ አርባዕተ ፡ ምእተ ፡ ዕደ ፡ ጽኑዓነ ፡ መስተቃትላነ ፡ ወስድስቱ ፡ ምእት ፡ ጐዩ ።
西緬、便雅憫和流便的兒子以諾從樓的西面出去，有五十人跟著他們，殺了以東和何利的精壯鬥士四百人，又有六百人逃跑。
And Simeon and Benjamin and Enoch, Reuben's son, went forth on the west side of the tower, and fifty (men) with them, and they slew of Edom and of the Horites four hundred men, stout warriors; and six hundred fled, and four of the sons of Esau fled with them, and left their father lying slain, as he had fallen on the hill which is in ’Adûrâm.
38:9
ወሰደድዎሙ ፡ ውሉደ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ድኅሬሆሙ ፡ እስከ ፡ ደብረ ፡ ሲኢር ።
雅各的眾子在後追趕他們，直到西珥山。
And the sons of Jacob pursued after them to the mountains of Seir. And Jacob buried his brother on the hill which is in ’Adûrâm, and he returned to his house.
38:10
ወአመንደብዎሙ ፡ ውሉደ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ዔሳው ፡ በደብረ ፡ ሰኢር ፡ ወአትሐቱ ፡ ክሳዶሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይከኩኑ ፡ አግብርተ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ያዕቆብ ።
雅各的眾子在西珥山緊緊壓制以掃的眾子，使他們屈服，作了雅各眾子的僕人。
And the sons of Jacob pressed hard upon the sons of Esau in the mountains of Seir, and bowed their necks so that they became servants of the sons of Jacob.
38:11
ወለአኩ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አቡሆሙ ፡ እመ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ ሰላም ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ ወለእመ ፡ ይቀትልዎሙ ።
他們打發人去問他們的父親，要與他們和睦呢，還是殺他們。
And they sent to their father (to inquire) whether they should make peace with them or slay them.
38:12
ወለአከ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ውሉዱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይግበሩ ፡ ሰላመ ፡ ወገብሩ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ ሰላመ ፡ ወአንበሩ ፡ አርዑተ ፡ ቅኔ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይጸብሑ ፡ ለያዕቆብ ፡ ወለውሉዱ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ 13 ወነበሩ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይጼብሑ ፡ ለያዕቆብ ፡ እስከ ፡ አመ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ወረደ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ግብጽ ።
雅各打發人去吩咐他的眾子要與他們和睦；他們就與他們和睦，把服役的軛加在他們身上，叫他們常常向雅各和他的眾子納貢。他們就常常向雅各納貢，直到雅各下埃及那日。
And Jacob sent word to his sons that they should make peace, and they made peace with them, and placed the yoke of servitude upon them, so that they paid tribute to Jacob and to his sons always.
38:14
ወኢነተጉ ፡ ውሉዱ ፡ ኤዶም ፡ እምአርዑተ ፡ ቅኔ ፡ ዘዐሠርቱ ፡ ወክልኤቱ ፡ ውሉደ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ እስከ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ዕለት ።
以東的子孫沒有脫離雅各十二個兒子加在他們身上服役的軛，直到今日。
And the sons of Edom have not got quit of the yoke of servitude which the twelve sons of Jacob had imposed on them until this day.
38:15
ወእሉ ፡ ነገሥት ፡ እለ ፡ ነግሡ ፡ በኤዶም ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ይንግሥ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ለውሉደ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እስከ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ በምድረ ፡ ኤዶም ።
在以色列子孫未有王治理之先，這些是在以東地作王的，直到今日。
And these are the kings that reigned in Edom before there reigned any king over the children of Israel [until this day ] in the land of Edom.
38:16
ወነግሠ ፡ በኤዶም ፡ ባላቅ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ቦኤር ፡ ወስመ ፡ ሀገሩ ፡ ደናባ ።
比珥的兒子巴拉在以東作王，他城的名叫亭哈巴。
And Bâlâq, 1 the son of Beor, reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Danâbâ.
38:17
ወሞተ ፡ ባላቅ ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ ዮባብ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዛራ ፡ ዘእምነ ፡ ቦሲር ።
巴拉死了，波斯拉人謝拉的兒子約巴接續他作王。
And Bâlâq died, and Jobab, the son of Zârâ of Bôsêr, 3 reigned in his stead.
38:18
ወሞተ ፡ ዮባብ ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ አሳም ፡ ዘእምነ ፡ ደብረ ፡ ቴማን ።
約巴死了，提幔地的亞善接續他作王。
And Jobab died, and ’Asâm, 4 of the land of Têmân, reigned in his stead. 16. And ’Asâm died, and ’Adâth, 5 the son of Barad, 6 who slew Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead, and the name of his city was Avith.
38:19
ወሞተ ፡ አሳም ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ አዳት ፡ ወልደ ፡ ባርድ ፡ ዘቀተለ ፡ መዕድያምሃ ፡ በሐቅለ ፡ ሞአብ ፡ ወስመ ፡ ሀገሩ ፡ አውኡቱ ።
亞善死了，比達的兒子亞達接續他作王，他曾在摩押田間擊殺米甸人，他城的名叫亞未得。
And Husham died, and Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, and the name of his city was Avith.
38:20
ወሞተ ፡ አዳት ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ ሰሎማን ፡ ዘእምነ ፡ እማሴቃ ።
亞達死了，瑪士利加人撒摩拉接續他作王。
It was captured by John Hyrcanus and forced to accept circumcision. in Test. Judah ix. 3 the name appears as Anoniram. Footnotes
38:21
ወሞተ ፡ ሰሎማን ፡ ወነገሠ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ ሳኡል ፡ ዘእምነ ፡ ራአቦት ፡ ፈለግ ፡ 22 ወሞተ ፡ ሳኡል ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ ብኤሉናን ፡ ወልደ ፡ አክቡር ፡ 23 ወሞተ ፡ በኤሉናን ፡ ወልደ ፡ አክቡር ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ አዳት ፡ ወስመ ፡ ብእሲቱ ፡ መይጠቢት ፡ ወለተ ፡ መጥሪት ፡ ወለተ ፡ ሜተቤድዛአብ ።
撒摩拉死了，大河旁拉俄博人掃羅接續他作王。掃羅死了，亞革波的兒子巴勒哈南接續他作王。亞革波的兒子巴勒哈南死了，亞達接續他作王，他妻子名叫米希她別，是米薩合之女瑪特列的女兒。
And Salman died, and Saul of Râ’abôth 9 (by the) river, reigned in his stead.
38:24
እሉ ፡ ነገሥት ፡ እለ ፡ ነግሡ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ኤዶም ።
這些就是在以東地作王的列王。
