11:1
Statera dolosa abominatio est apud Dominum, et pondus aequum voluntas ejus.
詭詐的天平為耶和華所憎惡; 公平的法碼為他所喜悅。
A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight.
11:2
Ubi fuerit superbia, ibi erit et contumelia ; ubi autem est humilitas, ibi et sapientia.
驕傲來,羞恥也來; 謙遜人卻有智慧。
When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.
11:3
Simplicitas justorum diriget eos, et supplantatio perversorum vastabit illos.
正直人的純正必引導自己; 奸詐人的乖僻必毀滅自己。
The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
11:4
Non proderunt divitiae in die ultionis ; justitia autem liberabit a morte.
發怒的日子資財無益; 惟有公義能救人脫離死亡。
Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
11:5
Justitia simplicis diriget viam ejus, et in impietate sua corruet impius.
完全人的義必指引他的路; 但惡人必因自己的惡跌倒。
The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
11:6
Justitia rectorum liberabit eos, et in insidiis suis capientur iniqui.
正直人的義必拯救自己; 奸詐人必陷在自己的罪孽中。
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
11:7
Mortuo homine impio, nulla erit ultra spes, et exspectatio sollicitorum peribit.
惡人一死,他的指望必滅絕; 罪人的盼望也必滅沒。
When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.
11:8
Justus de angustia liberatus est, et tradetur impius pro eo.
義人得脫離患難, 有惡人來代替他。
A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.
11:9
Simulator ore decipit amicum suum ; justi autem liberabuntur scientia.
不虔敬的人用口敗壞鄰舍; 義人卻因知識得救。
With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
11:10
In bonis justorum exsultabit civitas, et in perditione impiorum erit laudatio.
義人享福,合城喜樂; 惡人滅亡,人都歡呼。
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11:11
Benedictione justorum exaltabitur civitas, et ore impiorum subvertetur.
城因正直人祝福便高舉, 卻因邪惡人的口就傾覆。
By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
11:12
Qui despicit amicum suum indigens corde est ; vir autem prudens tacebit.
藐視鄰舍的,毫無智慧; 明哲人卻靜默不言。
One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
11:13
Qui ambulat fraudulenter, revelat arcana ; qui autem fidelis est animi, celat amici commissum.
往來傳舌的,洩漏密事; 心中誠實的,遮隱事情。
One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
11:14
Ubi non est gubernator, populus corruet ; salus autem, ubi multa consilia.
無智謀,民就敗落; 謀士多,人便安居。
Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
11:15
Affligetur malo qui fidem facit pro extraneo ; qui autem cavet laqueos securus erit.
為外人作保的,必受虧損; 恨惡擊掌的,卻得安穩。
He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
11:16
Mulier gratiosa inveniet gloriam, et robusti habebunt divitias.
恩德的婦女得尊榮; 強暴的男子得資財。
A gracious woman obtains honor, but violent men obtain riches.
11:17
Benefacit animae suae vir misericors ; qui autem crudelis est, etiam propinquos abjicit.
仁慈的人善待自己; 殘忍的人擾害己身。
The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
11:18
Impius facit opus instabile, seminanti autem justitiam merces fidelis.
惡人經營,得虛浮的工價; 撒義種的,得實在的果效。
Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
11:19
Clementia praeparat vitam, et sectatio malorum mortem.
恆心為義的,必得生命; 追求邪惡的,必致死亡。
He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
11:20
Abominabile Domino cor pravum, et voluntas ejus in iis qui simpliciter ambulant.
心中乖僻的,為耶和華所憎惡; 行事完全的,為他所喜悅。
Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
11:21
Manus in manu non erit innocens malus ; semen autem justorum salvabitur.
惡人雖然連手,必不免受罰; 義人的後裔必得拯救。
Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.
11:22
Circulus aureus in naribus suis, mulier pulchra et fatua.
婦女美貌而無見識, 如同金環帶在豬鼻上。
Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
11:23
Desiderium justorum omne bonum est ; praestolatio impiorum furor.
義人的心願盡得好處; 惡人的指望致干忿怒。
The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
11:24
Alii dividunt propria, et ditiores fiunt ; alii rapiunt non sua, et semper in egestate sunt.
有施散的,卻更增添; 有吝惜過度的,反致窮乏。
There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
11:25
Anima quae benedicit impinguabitur, et qui inebriat, ipse quoque inebriabitur.
好施捨的,必得豐裕; 滋潤人的,必得滋潤。
The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.
11:26
Qui abscondit frumenta maledicetur in populis ; benedictio autem super caput vendentium.
屯糧不賣的,民必咒詛他; 情願出賣的,人必為他祝福。
People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
11:27
Bene consurgit diluculo qui quaerit bona ; qui autem investigator malorum est, opprimetur ab eis.
懇切求善的,就求得恩惠; 惟獨求惡的,惡必臨到他身。
He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
11:28
Qui confidit in divitiis suis corruet : justi autem quasi virens folium germinabunt.
倚仗自己財物的,必跌倒; 義人必發旺,如青葉。
He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
11:29
Qui conturbat domum suam possidebit ventos, et qui stultus est serviet sapienti.
擾害己家的,必承受清風; 愚昧人必作慧心人的僕人。
He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
11:30
Fructus justi lignum vitae, et qui suscipit animas sapiens est.
義人所結的果子就是生命樹; 有智慧的,必能得人。
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
11:31
Si justus in terra recipit, quanto magis impius et peccator !
看哪,義人在世尚且受報, 何況惡人和罪人呢?
Behold, the righteous shall be repaid on the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
