9:1
Sapientia aedificavit sibi domum : excidit columnas septem.
智慧建造房屋, 鑿成七根柱子,
Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.
9:2
Immolavit victimas suas, miscuit vinum, et proposuit mensam suam.
宰殺牲畜, 調和旨酒, 設擺筵席;
She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.
9:3
Misit ancillas suas ut vocarent ad arcem et ad moenia civitatis.
打發使女出去, 自己在城中至高處呼叫,
She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:
9:4
Si quis est parvulus, veniat ad me. Et insipientibus locuta est :
說:誰是愚蒙人,可以轉到這裏來! 又對那無知的人說:
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
9:5
Venite, comedite panem meum, et bibite vinum quod miscui vobis.
你們來,吃我的餅, 喝我調和的酒。
“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
9:6
Relinquite infantiam, et vivite, et ambulate per vias prudentiae.
你們愚蒙人,要捨棄愚蒙, 就得存活,並要走光明的道。
Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
9:7
Qui erudit derisorem, ipse injuriam sibi facit, et qui arguit impium, sibi maculam generat.
指斥褻慢人的,必受辱罵; 責備惡人的,必被玷污。
One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
9:8
Noli arguere derisorem, ne oderit te : argue sapientem, et diliget te.
不要責備褻慢人,恐怕他恨你; 要責備智慧人,他必愛你。
Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.
9:9
Da sapienti occasionem, et addetur ei sapientia ; doce justum, et festinabit accipere.
教導智慧人,他就越發有智慧; 指示義人,他就增長學問。
Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.
9:10
Principium sapientiae timor Domini, et scientia sanctorum prudentia.
敬畏耶和華是智慧的開端; 認識至聖者便是聰明。
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
9:11
Per me enim multiplicabuntur dies tui, et addentur tibi anni vitae.
你藉着我,日子必增多, 年歲也必加添。
For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.
9:12
Si sapiens fueris, tibimetipsi eris ; si autem illusor, solus portabis malum.
你若有智慧,是與自己有益; 你若褻慢,就必獨自擔當。
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
9:13
Mulier stulta et clamosa, plenaque illecebris, et nihil omnino sciens,
愚昧的婦人喧嚷; 她是愚蒙,一無所知。
The foolish woman is loud, undisciplined, and knows nothing.
9:14
sedit in foribus domus suae, super sellam in excelso urbis loco,
她坐在自己的家門口, 坐在城中高處的座位上,
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
9:15
ut vocaret transeuntes per viam, et pergentes itinere suo :
呼叫過路的, 就是直行其道的人,
to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways,
9:16
Qui est parvulus declinet ad me. Et vecordi locuta est :
說:誰是愚蒙人,可以轉到這裏來! 又對那無知的人說:
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
9:17
Aquae furtivae dulciores sunt, et panis absconditus suavior.
偷來的水是甜的, 暗吃的餅是好的。
“Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.”
9:18
Et ignoravit quod ibi sint gigantes, et in profundis inferni convivae ejus.
人卻不知有陰魂在她那裏; 她的客在陰間的深處。
But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
