And the sons of Rouben the firstborn of Israel—for he was the firstborn, but when he went up onto his father's bed, he gave his blessing to his son Joseph, son of Israel, and he was not reckoned in the genealogy for the birthright;

for Ioudas was mighty in strength even among his brothers, and for a leader from him; but the blessing was Joseph's—

the sons of Rouben the firstborn of Israel: Enoch and Phallous, Arson and Charmi.

The sons of Joel: Semei; and Banaia his son; and the sons of Goug son of Semei.

Micha his son; Recha his son; Baal his son.

Beera his son, whom Thaglathphalnasar king of Assour carried away; he was ruler of the Roubenites.

And his brothers by his ancestral house, in their genealogical registers according to their generations: the ruler Joel and Zacharia,

and Balek son of Ozouz, son of Sama, son of Joel; this one dwelt in Aroer and as far as Nabau and Beelmaon.

And toward the east he dwelt as far as the approaches of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, for their livestock were many in the land of Galaad.

And in the days of Saoul they made war against the sojourners, and those dwelling in tents fell into their hands, all of them throughout the east of Galaad.

The sons of Gad dwelt opposite them in Basan, as far as Selcha.

Joel the firstborn, and Sapham the second, and Iani the scribe in Basan.

And their brothers according to their ancestral houses: Michael, Mosollam, and Sebee, and Ioree, and Iachan, and Zoue, and Obed, seven.

And they made war against the Agarenes and the Itureans and the Naphisaeans and the Nadabaeans.

And they prevailed over them, and the Agaraeans and all their tents were given into their hands, for they cried out to God in the battle, and he listened to them, for they hoped in him.

And they took captive their possessions: five thousand camels, and two hundred fifty thousand sheep, two thousand donkeys, and one hundred thousand souls of men.

And these were the chiefs of their ancestral house: Opher and Isei and Eliel and Esdriel and Iermia and Odouia and Iediel, mighty men of valour, men of renown, rulers of their ancestral houses.

And they broke faith with the God of their fathers, and played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had removed from before them.

And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Phaloch king of Assour and the spirit of Thaglathphalnasar king of Assour, and he carried away Rouben and Gaddi and the half tribe of Manasse, and brought them to Chalach and Chabor and to the river Gozan, until this day.

And Mariel begot Amaria; and Amaria begot Achitob.

And Achitob begot Sadok; and Sadok begot Achimaas.

And Achimaas begot Azaria; and Azarias begot Ioanan.

And Ioanas begot Azarias; this one served as priest in the house which Salomon built in Ierousalem.

And Azaria begot Amaria; and Amaria begot Achitob.

And Achitob begot Sadok; and Sadok begot Salom.

And Salom begot Chelkias; and Chelkias begot Azaria.

And Azarias begot Saraia, and Saraias begot Josadak.

And Josadak went into the deportation with Juda and Jerusalem, by the hand of Nabouchodonosor.
