And Jonathan reported to David, saying, Saul seeks to put you to death; so guard yourself tomorrow morning, and hide yourself and sit in a secret place.
And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field wherever you may be; and I will speak concerning you to my father, and I will see whatever it may be, and I will report to you.
And Jonathan spoke good things concerning David to Saul his father, and said to him, Let not the king sin against your servant David, for he has not sinned against you, and his deeds are very good.
And he put his life in his hand and struck the Philistine, and the Lord wrought a great salvation; and all Israel saw it and rejoiced. And why do you sin against innocent blood, to put David to death without cause?
And Jonathan called David and reported to him all these words, and Jonathan brought David in to Saul, and he was before him as yesterday and the third day.
And the war continued to come against Saul; and David prevailed and fought the Philistines, and struck among them a very great blow, and they fled from before him.
And Saul sought to strike David with the spear, but David withdrew from the presence of Saul, and he struck the spear into the wall; and David retreated and escaped.
And it came to pass in that night that Saul sent messengers to the house of David to watch him, to put him to death in the morning. And Melchol his wife reported to David, saying, If you do not save your own life this night, tomorrow you will be put to death.
And Saul said to Melchol, Why have you deceived me thus and sent away my enemy, so that he escaped? And Melchol said to Saul, He said, Let me go, or else I will put you to death.
And David fled and escaped and comes to Samuel at Armathaim, and reports to him all that Saul had done to him. And David and Samuel went and dwelt in Nauath in Rama.

And Saul sent messengers to take David, and they saw the assembly of the prophets, and Samuel was standing, appointed over them; and a spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they prophesy.
And it was reported to Saul, and he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. And Saul proceeded to send a third set of messengers, and they also prophesied.
And Saul was enraged with anger, and he himself also went to Armathaim, and comes as far as the well of the threshing floor that is in Sephi. And he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And they said, Behold, in Nauath in Rama.
And he stripped off his garments and prophesied before them, and fell down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they said, Is Saul also among the prophets?
