ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).
And at this time Origen too was composing his commentaries on Isaiah, and at the same time those also on Ezekiel. Of the former, thirty tomes have come down to us on the third part of Isaiah, up to the vision of the four-footed beasts in the wilderness; and on Ezekiel twenty-five, the only ones that he made upon the whole prophet.
Coming at that time to Athens, he finished those on Ezekiel, and began those on the Song of Songs, carrying them forward there as far as the fifth book. And returning to Caesarea, he brought these also to completion, being ten in number.
Why need one draw up here the exact catalogue of the man's works, since it would require a special study? We did record it in our account of the life of Pamphilus, that holy martyr of our day, in which, showing how great was Pamphilus's zeal for divine things, I set down the lists of the library he had brought together of the works of Origen and of the other ecclesiastical writers; from which whoever pleases may most fully ascertain those of Origen's labours that have reached us. But now we must proceed to the sequence of the history.
