ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

Now of these very translators it is to be known that Symmachus was an Ebionite. The heresy of the so-called Ebionites is that of those who assert that Christ was born of Joseph and Mary, and who have supposed Him to be a mere man, and who stoutly maintain that the Law ought to be kept in a more Jewish fashion, as we have learned also from the foregoing history. And memoirs of Symmachus are still current even now, in which he seems, aiming at the Gospel according to Matthew, to confirm the aforesaid heresy. These Origen indicates that he received, together with other interpretations of Symmachus on the Scriptures, from a certain Juliana, who, he says, succeeded to the books from Symmachus himself.
