Cum in voluntate Dei ad dedicationem basilicæ Sanctae Mariæ in Arelatensi civitate sacerdotes Do- mini convenissent, congruum eis et rationabile visum est, ut primum de observandis canonibus attentissima sollicitudine pertractantes, qualiter ab ipsis ecclesiastica regula servarctur, salubri consilio definirent.
When, by the will of God, the priests of the Lord had assembled for the dedication of the basilica of Holy Mary in the city of Arles, it seemed to them fitting and reasonable that, first treating with most attentive care of the canons to be observed, they should by wholesome counsel determine how the ecclesiastical rule might be kept by themselves.
當主的眾司鐸按著神的旨意，聚集於亞爾勒城為聖瑪利亞大殿的祝聖時，他們認為合宜且合理的是：首先以極其專注的關切研議當守的教會法規，藉著有益的商議，訂定他們自身當如何遵守教會的規矩。
