衣索比亞馬加比一書 第 29 章

And though the Egyptians afflicted the children of Israel with bondage and with the work of brick, and with all the labour they laid upon them, and with the making of bricks without straw;

and they set over them taskmasters and made them slaves, and they cried out to the Lord that He should deliver them from all the brickwork of Egypt;

in that day He sent them their help, Moses and Aaron, and they delivered them from the work of brick; for the Lord sent them to bring out His people from the house of bondage of Pharaoh king of Egypt; for in his pride he refused to let the people go, that they should not be made to serve nor offer sacrifice to the Lord in the wilderness.

For the Lord despises the proud; and because of the pride of Pharaoh, the Lord drowned him together with his hosts in the Red Sea.

And likewise those who despise the word of the Lord, even while they are kings and governors, and who do not do well in all that for which He set them and made them kings, that they should do His will and give their reward to those who minister well and honour His great name;

and if they set My kingdom in order, I too will set their kingdom in order, says the Lord who rules over all.

Do well by Me, and I too will do well by you; keep My commandment, and I too will keep your souls; walk in My commandment, and I too will walk according to your heart.

Love Me, and I too will love your life; take refuge in Me, and I too will strengthen you.

And trust in Me, and I too will deliver you, says the Lord who rules over all.

And do not walk crookedly; draw near to Me, and I will draw you near; for I love upright ways, says the Lord who rules over all. Cleanse your hands, you sinners and corrupt ones, and put away the evil of your heart.

And I too will turn away My wrath from you, and turn to you with grace and with mercy.

And I will remove far from you the rebellious enemies who work iniquity, even as I delivered David My servant from many a plot of the wicked who came upon him, from the hand of Goliath the watchman, and from the hand of Saul who sought to kill him, and from the hand of Absalom his son, who desired to take his kingdom.

And likewise He delivered those who do My will and keep My commandment and endure in My law; and He gives them honour to inherit and makes them king above all, that they may rejoice both in this world and in the world to come.

And they shall be partakers with the blessed kings who pleased the Lord by the goodness of their life, like Samuel, while he was yet a child whom the Lord chose from his youth, by the goodness of his life.

And He spoke to him, that he should tell it to Eli the aged priest; and good were the deeds of Samuel the prophet, while he ministered in the house of the Lord God.

And when he had grown up in the house of the Lord, ministering, He made him to appoint the people and to anoint kings by the commandment of the Lord. And He put the anointing of the kingdom into his hand, when he did the will of the Lord his God; for He was pleased before Him to make king the people whom the Lord chose from among the children of Israel.

And while Saul was in the kingdom, the Lord said to Samuel the prophet, Go, anoint David the son of Jesse, who is of the house of Judah, for I am pleased with him.
