Hermon and its environs and Damascus, and those who worship the idol in Zebulun and Edom, shall be brought low in that day; for the Lord shall requite them according to their wickedness and according to the work of their hands. Tyre and Sidon shall weep, for near is He who will avenge their wickedness, and their idols which they made in their youth and forsook not until their old age.
And therefore the Lord shall avenge Himself upon them, because of the things they did, the abomination and defilement and fornication and idolatry; and the daughters of Judah too He shall put to shame, because they did not stand fast in the commandment of the Lord their Maker.
Even so, at the resurrection of the dead, the shame of Jerusalem shall be uncovered, because she did not walk in the law and in the judgment of the Lord, but walked in wantonness and in the slaying of the righteous.
In that day the Lord shall search her out with the lamp of His wisdom, and shall avenge Himself upon her for all the wickedness she did in the days of her youth, and ceased not in the days of her maturity until her old age.
And she entered into the grave and became ashes, like her forefathers before her, who walked in their own way and refused the commandment of the Lord, so that the resurrection should avenge itself upon them.
