Τοῦ δὲ Ναρκίσσου ἀνακεχωρηκότος, καὶ μηδαμῶς ὅπη ὢν τυγχάνοι γινωσκομένου, δόξαν τοῖς τῶν ὁμόρων ἐκκλησιῶν προεστῶσιν ἐφ ἑτέρου μετίασιν ἐπισκόπου χειροτονίαν. Δῖος τούτῳ ὄνομα ἦν· ὃν οὐ πολὺν προστάντα χρόνον Γερμανίων διαδέχεται καὶ τοῦτον Γόρδιος, καθ ὃν ὥσπερ ἐξ ἀναβιώσεως ἀναφανείς ποθεν ὁ Νάρκισσος αὖθις ὑπὸ τῶν ἀδελφῶν ἐπὶ τὴν προστασίαν παρακλεῖται, μειζόνως ἔτι μᾶλλον τῶν πάντων ἀγασθέντων αὐτὸν, τῆς τε ἀναχωρήσεως ἕνεκα καὶ τῆς φιλοσοφίας, καὶ ἐφ ἅπασι δι ἣν παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ κατηξίωτο ἐκδίκησιν.
拿吉索既已引退，又全然無人知曉他的下落，鄰近各教會的主理者便決議按立另一位主教。這人名叫第烏；他主理不多時日，革馬尼翁接續他，繼之以高第烏。在高第烏的時候，拿吉索彷彿死而復生般從某處再次出現，便又被弟兄們召回擔任主理之職，因眾人越發大大欽佩他——一面因他的引退與哲士生活，一面尤其因他從神所蒙看為配得的那場昭雪。
Now since Narcissus had withdrawn, and it was in no way known where he might be, those who presided over the neighbouring churches resolved to proceed to the ordination of another bishop. His name was Dius; and when he had presided not a long time, Germanion succeeded him, and him Gordius. In his time Narcissus, appearing again from somewhere as if by a return to life, was once more summoned by the brethren to the presidency, since all admired him still more greatly—both on account of his withdrawal and his philosophic life, and above all because of the vindication of which he had been counted worthy from God.
