displaying such zeal concerning Origen that at one time he would summon him to his own regions for the benefit of the churches, and at another would himself journey to Judaea and spend some time with him for his betterment in divine things. Nay more, Alexander, who presided over the church of Jerusalem, and Theoctistus, who presided at Caesarea, attending upon him, one may say, the whole time as their only teacher, conceded to him the task of expounding the divine Scriptures and the other parts of the Church's instruction.
