31:1
διαθήκην ἐθέμην τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς μου καὶ οὐ συνήσω ἐπὶ παρθένον
I made a covenant with my eyes, and I will not think upon a virgin.
我與我的眼睛立了約，必不注視處女。
31:2
καὶ τί ἐμέρισεν ὁ θεὸς ἀπάνωθεν καὶ κληρονομία ἱκανοῦ ἐξ ὑψίστων
And what did God apportion from above, and what inheritance from the Sufficient One out of the highest places?
神從上面所分給的是甚麼？全足者從至高之處所賜的產業又是甚麼？
31:3
οὐχὶ ἀπώλεια τῷ ἀδίκῳ καὶ ἀπαλλοτρίωσις τοῖς ποιοῦσιν ἀνομίαν
Is it not destruction for the unjust, and estrangement for those who work lawlessness?
豈不是滅亡臨到不義的人，疏離臨到行不法的人麼？
31:4
οὐχὶ αὐτὸς ὄψεται ὁδόν μου καὶ πάντα τὰ διαβήματά μου ἐξαριθμήσεται
Will he not see my way, and number all my steps?
他豈不看見我的道路，數算我一切的腳步麼？
31:5
εἰ δὲ ἤμην πεπορευμένος μετὰ γελοιαστῶν εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐσπούδασεν ὁ πούς μου εἰς δόλον
If I had walked with mockers, and if my foot hastened to deceit,
我若與戲笑的人同行，我的腳若急於行詭詐，
31:6
ἱσταίη με ἄρα ἐν ζυγῷ δικαίῳ οἶδεν δὲ ὁ κύριος τὴν ἀκακίαν μου
Then let him weigh me in a just balance; and the Lord knows my innocence.
願他用公道的天平稱我；主是知道我無惡的。
31:7
εἰ ἐξέκλινεν ὁ πούς μου ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ εἰ δὲ καὶ τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ ἐπηκολούθησεν ἡ καρδία μου εἰ δὲ καὶ ταῖς χερσίν μου ἡψάμην δώρων
If my foot turned aside from the way, and if my heart followed after my eye, and if with my hands I touched gifts,
我的腳若偏離正道，我的心若隨從眼目，我的手若沾了禮物，
31:8
σπείραιμι ἄρα καὶ ἄλλοι φάγοισαν ἄρριζος δὲ γενοίμην ἐπὶ γῆς
Then let me sow and others eat, and let me become rootless upon the earth.
就願我撒種而別人來吃，願我在地上成為無根的。
31:9
εἰ ἐξηκολούθησεν ἡ καρδία μου γυναικὶ ἀνδρὸς ἑτέρου εἰ καὶ ἐγκάθετος ἐγενόμην ἐπὶ θύραις αὐτῆς
If my heart followed after another man's wife, and if I lay in wait at her doors,
我的心若隨從別人的妻子，我若埋伏在她的門口，
31:10
ἀρέσαι ἄρα καὶ ἡ γυνή μου ἑτέρῳ τὰ δὲ νήπιά μου ταπεινωθείη
Then let my wife also please another, and let my little ones be brought low.
就願我的妻子去取悅別人，願我的嬰孩被降卑。
31:11
θυμὸς γὰρ ὀργῆς ἀκατάσχετος τὸ μιᾶναι ἀνδρὸς γυναῖκα
For to defile a man's wife is an uncontrollable fury of wrath.
因為玷污人的妻子，乃是不可遏止的烈怒。
31:12
πῦρ γάρ ἐστιν καιόμενον ἐπὶ πάντων τῶν μερῶν οὗ δ’ ἂν ἐπέλθῃ ἐκ ῥιζῶν ἀπώλεσεν
For it is a fire burning upon all the parts; and wherever it comes, it destroys from the roots.
那是燒著的火，燒遍各處；它所到之處，就從根上毀滅。
31:13
εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐφαύλισα κρίμα θεράποντός μου ἢ θεραπαίνης κρινομένων αὐτῶν πρός με
And if I made light of the cause of my manservant or maidservant, when they contended with me,
我若輕看我僕人或婢女的案件，就是他們與我爭訟的時候，
31:14
τί γὰρ ποιήσω ἐὰν ἔτασίν μου ποιήσηται ὁ κύριος ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ἐπισκοπήν τίνα ἀπόκρισιν ποιήσομαι
For what shall I do if the Lord makes examination of me? And if he makes visitation, what answer shall I give?
主若察問我，我要怎麼辦呢？他若眷察，我要怎樣回答呢？
31:15
πότερον οὐχ ὡς καὶ ἐγὼ ἐγενόμην ἐν γαστρί καὶ ἐκεῖνοι γεγόνασιν γεγόναμεν δὲ ἐν τῇ αὐτῇ κοιλίᾳ
Were they not formed in the womb as I also was? And we were formed in the same belly.
他們豈不是像我一樣在母腹中成形的麼？我們原是在同一個腹中成形的。
31:16
ἀδύνατοι δὲ χρείαν ἥν ποτ’ εἶχον οὐκ ἀπέτυχον χήρας δὲ τὸν ὀφθαλμὸν οὐκ ἐξέτηξα
The powerless never failed of the need they had, and I did not make the widow's eye waste away.
無力的人所需要的，從來沒有得不著；我也未曾使寡婦的眼睛消耗失望。
31:17
εἰ δὲ καὶ τὸν ψωμόν μου ἔφαγον μόνος καὶ οὐχὶ ὀρφανῷ μετέδωκα
And if I ate my morsel alone and did not share it with the orphan,
我若獨自吃我的一口食物，沒有分給孤兒，
31:18
ὅτι ἐκ νεότητός μου ἐξέτρεφον ὡς πατὴρ καὶ ἐκ γαστρὸς μητρός μου ὡδήγησα
For from my youth I nourished as a father, and from my mother's womb I guided.
其實從我幼年我就像父親一樣撫養人，從我母腹以來我就引導人。
31:19
εἰ δὲ καὶ ὑπερεῖδον γυμνὸν ἀπολλύμενον καὶ οὐκ ἠμφίασα
And if I overlooked one naked and perishing and did not clothe him,
我若忽視將亡的赤身之人，不給他衣穿，
31:20
ἀδύνατοι δὲ εἰ μὴ εὐλόγησάν με ἀπὸ δὲ κουρᾶς ἀμνῶν μου ἐθερμάνθησαν οἱ ὦμοι αὐτῶν
Did not the powerless bless me, and were not their shoulders warmed from the shearing of my lambs?
無力的人豈不祝福我麼？他們的肩頭也因我羊羔的毛得了溫暖。
31:21
εἰ ἐπῆρα ὀρφανῷ χεῖρα πεποιθὼς ὅτι πολλή μοι βοήθεια περίεστιν
If I lifted my hand against an orphan, trusting that much help was mine,
我若向孤兒舉手，自恃有許多幫助，
31:22
ἀποσταίη ἄρα ὁ ὦμός μου ἀπὸ τῆς κλειδός ὁ δὲ βραχίων μου ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀγκῶνός μου συντριβείη
Then let my shoulder fall away from the collarbone, and let my arm be broken off at the elbow.
就願我的肩頭從鎖骨脫落，願我的膀臂從肘處折斷。
31:23
φόβος γὰρ κυρίου συνέσχεν με καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ λήμματος αὐτοῦ οὐχ ὑποίσω
For the fear of the Lord restrained me, and I cannot bear up under his burden.
因為主的懼怕抓住了我，他所加的重擔我擔當不起。
31:24
εἰ ἔταξα χρυσίον ἰσχύν μου εἰ δὲ καὶ λίθῳ πολυτελεῖ ἐπεποίθησα
If I made gold my strength, and if I trusted in a costly stone,
我若以金子為我的力量，若信靠貴重的寶石，
31:25
εἰ δὲ καὶ εὐφράνθην πολλοῦ πλούτου μοι γενομένου εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐπ’ ἀναριθμήτοις ἐθέμην χεῖρά μου
And if I rejoiced because much wealth came to me, and if I laid my hand upon things innumerable,
我若因財富甚多而歡喜，若把手放在數不清的家業上，
31:26
ἦ οὐχ ὁρῶ μὲν ἥλιον τὸν ἐπιφαύσκοντα ἐκλείποντα σελήνην δὲ φθίνουσαν οὐ γὰρ ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς ἐστιν
Do I not see the shining sun failing, and the moon waning? For it does not rest with them.
我豈不是看見那發光的太陽也要虧缺，月亮也要虧損麼？因為這事並不在乎它們。
31:27
καὶ εἰ ἠπατήθη λάθρᾳ ἡ καρδία μου εἰ δὲ καὶ χεῖρά μου ἐπιθεὶς ἐπὶ στόματί μου ἐφίλησα
And if my heart was secretly deceived, and if putting my hand to my mouth I kissed it,
我的心若暗中被迷惑，我若把手按在口上親吻，
31:28
καὶ τοῦτό μοι ἄρα ἀνομία ἡ μεγίστη λογισθείη ὅτι ἐψευσάμην ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ ὑψίστου
Then let this too be reckoned to me as the greatest lawlessness, for I lied before the Lord Most High.
這也就算為我極大的不法，因為我在至高的主面前說了謊。
31:29
εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐπιχαρὴς ἐγενόμην πτώματι ἐχθρῶν μου καὶ εἶπεν ἡ καρδία μου εὖγε
And if I rejoiced at the fall of my enemies, and my heart said, Aha,
我若因仇敵跌倒而幸災樂禍，心裡說：好啊，
31:30
ἀκούσαι ἄρα τὸ οὖς μου τὴν κατάραν μου θρυληθείην δὲ ἄρα ὑπὸ λαοῦ μου κακούμενος
Then let my ear hear my own curse, and let me be talked of by my people as one afflicted.
就願我的耳朵聽見對我的咒詛，願我被我的百姓當作受害的話柄。
31:31
εἰ δὲ καὶ πολλάκις εἶπον αἱ θεράπαιναί μου τίς ἂν δῴη ἡμῖν τῶν σαρκῶν αὐτοῦ πλησθῆναι λίαν μου χρηστοῦ ὄντος
And if my maidservants often said, Who would give us to be filled with his flesh? For I was exceedingly kind.
我的婢女豈不是屢次說：誰能使我們飽嘗他的肉食呢？因為我實在滿有恩慈。
31:32
ἔξω δὲ οὐκ ηὐλίζετο ξένος ἡ δὲ θύρα μου παντὶ ἐλθόντι ἀνέῳκτο
The stranger did not lodge outside; my door was open to everyone who came.
外人沒有在外面過夜，我的門向一切來的人敞開。
31:33
εἰ δὲ καὶ ἁμαρτὼν ἀκουσίως ἔκρυψα τὴν ἁμαρτίαν μου
And if, having sinned unwillingly, I hid my sin,
我若無意中犯了罪，就把我的罪隱藏起來，
31:34
οὐ γὰρ διετράπην πολυοχλίαν πλήθους τοῦ μὴ ἐξαγορεῦσαι ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν εἰ δὲ καὶ εἴασα ἀδύνατον ἐξελθεῖν θύραν μου κόλπῳ κενῷ
For I was not abashed before the great multitude, so as not to confess openly before them; and if I let the powerless go out of my door with an empty bosom,
我並沒有因群眾眾多而畏縮，以致不在他們面前公開承認；我若讓無力的人空懷出我的門，
31:35
τίς δῴη ἀκούοντά μου χεῖρα δὲ κυρίου εἰ μὴ ἐδεδοίκειν συγγραφὴν δέ ἣν εἶχον κατά τινος
Who would grant me one to hear me? If only I had not feared the hand of the Lord, and the indictment which I had against someone,
誰能使我有人聽我呢？我若不是懼怕主的手，又有我所存的、控告某人的狀紙，
31:36
ἐπ’ ὤμοις ἂν περιθέμενος στέφανον ἀνεγίνωσκον
I would have put it on my shoulders as a crown, and read it.
我必把它披在肩上，當作冠冕戴著誦讀。
31:37
καὶ εἰ μὴ ῥήξας αὐτὴν ἀπέδωκα οὐθὲν λαβὼν παρὰ χρεοφειλέτου
And did I not tear it up and give it back, taking nothing from the debtor?
我豈不是把它撕開歸還，沒有從欠債的人身上取甚麼麼？
31:38
εἰ ἐπ’ ἐμοί ποτε ἡ γῆ ἐστέναξεν εἰ δὲ καὶ οἱ αὔλακες αὐτῆς ἔκλαυσαν ὁμοθυμαδόν
If ever the land groaned against me, and if its furrows wept together,
我的田地若曾為我歎息，它的犁溝若曾一同哭泣，
31:39
εἰ δὲ καὶ τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτῆς ἔφαγον μόνος ἄνευ τιμῆς εἰ δὲ καὶ ψυχὴν κυρίου τῆς γῆς ἐκβαλὼν ἐλύπησα
And if I ate its strength alone without payment, and if I grieved the soul of the owner of the land by casting him out,
我若不付代價獨自吃了它的出產，若把地主趕出去使他憂傷，
31:40
ἀντὶ πυροῦ ἄρα ἐξέλθοι μοι κνίδη ἀντὶ δὲ κριθῆς βάτος καὶ ἐπαύσατο Ιωβ ῥήμασιν
Then let nettle come up for me instead of wheat, and bramble instead of barley. And Job ceased from words.
就願蕁麻代替麥子長出來，荊棘代替大麥。約伯的話就此完了。
