37:1
Super hoc expavit cor meum, et emotum est de loco suo.
因此我心戰兢, 從原處移動。
“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.
37:2
Audite auditionem in terrore vocis ejus, et sonum de ore illius procedentem.
聽啊,上帝轟轟的聲音 是他口中所發的響聲。
Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
37:3
Subter omnes caelos ipse considerat, et lumen illius super terminos terrae.
他發響聲震遍天下, 發電光閃到地極。
He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
37:4
Post eum rugiet sonitus ; tonabit voce magnitudinis suae : et non investigabitur, cum audita fuerit vox ejus.
隨後人聽見有雷聲轟轟,大發威嚴, 雷電接連不斷。
After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.
37:5
Tonabit Deus in voce sua mirabiliter, qui facit magna et inscrutabilia ;
上帝發出奇妙的雷聲; 他行大事,我們不能測透。
God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.
37:6
qui praecipit nivi ut descendat in terram, et hiemis pluviis, et imbri fortitudinis suae ;
他對雪說:要降在地上; 對大雨和暴雨也是這樣說。
For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
37:7
qui in manu omnium hominum signat, ut noverint singuli opera sua.
他封住各人的手, 叫所造的萬人都曉得他的作為。
He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.
37:8
Ingredietur bestia latibulum, et in antro suo morabitur.
百獸進入穴中, 臥在洞內。
Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.
37:9
Ab interioribus egredietur tempestas, et ab Arcturo frigus.
暴風出於南宮; 寒冷出於北方。
Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
37:10
Flante Deo, concrescit gelu, et rursum latissimae funduntur aquae.
上帝噓氣成冰; 寬闊之水也都凝結。
By the breath of God, ice is given, and the width of the waters is frozen.
37:11
Frumentum desiderat nubes, et nubes spargunt lumen suum.
他使密雲盛滿水氣, 布散電光之雲;
Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
37:12
Quae lustrant per circuitum, quocumque eas voluntas gubernantis duxerit, ad omne quod praeceperit illis super faciem orbis terrarum :
這雲是藉他的指引游行旋轉, 得以在全地面上行他一切所吩咐的,
It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
37:13
sive in una tribu, sive in terra sua, sive in quocumque loco misericordiae suae eas jusserit inveniri.
或為責罰,或為潤地, 或為施行慈愛。
whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
37:14
Ausculta haec, Job : sta, et considera mirabilia Dei.
約伯啊,你要留心聽, 要站立思想上帝奇妙的作為。
“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
37:15
Numquid scis quando praeceperit Deus pluviis, ut ostenderent lucem nubium ejus ?
上帝如何吩咐這些, 如何使雲中的電光照耀,你知道嗎?
Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
37:16
Numquid nosti semitas nubium magnas, et perfectas scientias ?
雲彩如何浮於空中, 那知識全備者奇妙的作為,你知道嗎?
Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
37:17
Nonne vestimenta tua calida sunt, cum perflata fuerit terra austro ?
南風使地寂靜, 你的衣服就如火熱,你知道嗎?
You whose clothing is warm when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
37:18
Tu forsitan cum eo fabricatus es caelos, qui solidissimi quasi aere fusi sunt.
你豈能與上帝同鋪穹蒼嗎? 這穹蒼堅硬,如同鑄成的鏡子。
Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
37:19
Ostende nobis quid dicamus illi : nos quippe involvimur tenebris.
我們愚昧不能陳說; 請你指教我們該對他說甚麼話。
Teach us what we will tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.
37:20
Quis narrabit ei quae loquor ? etiam si locutus fuerit homo, devorabitur.
人豈可說:我願與他說話? 豈有人自願滅亡嗎?
Will it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
37:21
At nunc non vident lucem : subito aër cogetur in nubes, et ventus transiens fugabit eas.
現在有雲遮蔽,人不得見穹蒼的光亮; 但風吹過,天又發晴。
Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.
37:22
Ab aquilone aurum venit, et ad Deum formidolosa laudatio.
金光出於北方, 在上帝那裏有可怕的威嚴。
Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
37:23
Digne eum invenire non possumus : magnus fortitudine, et judicio, et justitia : et enarrari non potest.
論到全能者,我們不能測度; 他大有能力,有公平和大義, 必不苦待人。
We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.
37:24
Ideo timebunt eum viri, et non audebunt contemplari omnes qui sibi videntur esse sapientes.
所以,人敬畏他; 凡自以為心中有智慧的人,他都不顧念。
Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
