9:1
Non zeles mulierem sinus tui, ne ostendat super te malitiam doctrinæ nequam.
不要嫉妒你懷中的妻子,免得你教給她惡毒的伎倆來害自己。
Be not jealous over the wife of your bosom, And teach her not an evil lesson against yourself.
9:2
Non des mulieri potestatem animæ tuæ, ne ingrediatur in virtutem tuam, et confundaris.
不要把心交給女人,讓她踐踏你的力量。
Give not your soul to a woman, That she should set her foot upon your strength.
9:3
Ne respicias mulierem multivolam, ne forte incidas in laqueos illius.
不要去迎接行淫的女子,免得你落入她的網羅。
Go not to meet a woman that playeth the harlot, Lest haply you fall into her snares.
9:4
Cum saltatrice ne assiduus sis, nec audias illam, ne forte pereas in efficacia illius.
不要常與歌女為伴,免得你被她的伎倆所擒。
Use not the company of a woman that is a singer, Lest haply you be caught by her attempts.
9:5
Virginem ne conspicias, ne forte scandalizeris in decore illius.
不要注視處女,免得你因她而受罰絆倒。
Gaze not on a maid, lest haply you be trapped in her penalties.
9:6
Ne des fornicariis animam tuam in ullo, ne perdas te et hæreditatem tuam.
不要把心交給娼妓,免得你喪失你的產業。
Give not your soul to harlots, That you lose not your inheritance.
9:7
Noli circumspicere in vicis civitatis, nec oberraveris in plateis illius.
不要在城中街道四處張望,也不要在偏僻之處遊蕩。
Look not round about you in the streets of the city, Neither wander you in the solitary places thereof.
9:8
Averte faciem tuam a muliere compta, et ne circumspicias speciem alienam.
要轉眼不看美貌的女子,不要凝視別人的美色;許多人因女子的美貌而迷失,這樣的情慾如火般被點燃。
Turn away your eye from a comely woman, And gaze not on another’s beauty: By the beauty of a woman many have been led astray; And herewith love is kindled as a fire.
9:9
Propter speciem mulieris multi perierunt : et ex hoc concupiscentia quasi ignis exardescit.
絕不要與有夫之婦同坐,也不要與她飲酒作樂,免得你的心偏向她,使你的靈墮入滅亡。
Sit not at all with a woman that has a husband; And revel not with her at the wine; Lest haply your soul turn away to her, And with your spirit you slide into destruction.
9:10
Omnis mulier quæ est fornicaria, quasi stercus in via conculcabitur.
不要捨棄舊友,因為新朋友比不上他;新朋友如同新酒,待它陳久了,你才能歡然暢飲。
Forsake not an old friend; For the new is not comparable to him: As new wine, so is a new friend; If it become old, you will drink it with gladness.
9:11
Speciem mulieris alienæ multi admirati, reprobi facti sunt : colloquium enim illius quasi ignis exardescit.
不要嫉妒罪人的榮耀,因為你不知道他的傾覆將要如何臨到。
Envy not the glory of a sinner; For you know not what will be his overthrow.
9:12
Cum aliena muliere ne sedeas omnino, nec accumbas cum ea super cubitum :
不要喜悅不敬虔之人的喜悅,要記得他們直到陰間也難逃刑罰。
Delight not in the delights of the ungodly: Remember they will not go unpunished to the grave.
9:13
et non alterceris cum illa in vino, ne forte declinet cor tuum in illam, et sanguine tuo labaris in perditionem.
要遠離有權殺人的人,你就不必懼怕死亡的恐怖;你若就近他,就不可有過失,免得他奪去你的性命;要曉得你是行在網羅之中,行走在城牆的雉堞之上。
Keep you far from the man that has power to kill, And you will have no suspicion of the fear of death: And if you come to him, commit no fault, Lest he take away your life: Know surely that you go about in the midst of snares, And walk upon the battlements of a city.
9:14
Ne derelinquas amicum antiquum : novus enim non erit similis illi.
要盡你所能揣度你的鄰舍,並與智慧人商議。
As well as you can, guess at your neighbors; And take counsel with the wise.
9:15
Vinum novum amicus novus : veterascet, et cum suavitate bibes illud.
要與有見識的人交談,你一切的言談都要在至高者的律法中。
Let your converse be with men of understanding; And let all your discourse be in the law of the Most High.
9:16
Non zeles gloriam et opes peccatoris : non enim scis quæ futura sit illius subversio.
要讓義人作你同席的伴侶,你的誇耀要在於敬畏主。
Let just men be the companions of your board; And let your glorying be in the fear of the Lord.
9:17
Non placeat tibi injuria injustorum, sciens quoniam usque ad inferos non placebit impius.
工匠的手藝因工作而受稱讚,治理百姓的人因言語而顯為智慧。
For the hand of the artificers a work will be commended: And he that rules the people will be counted wise for his speech.
9:18
Longe abesto ab homine potestatem habente occidendi, et non suspicaberis timorem mortis.
多言的人在城中令人懼怕,言語輕率的人必被人厭惡。
A man full of tongue is dangerous in his city; And he that is headlong in his speech will be hated.
