📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

Jacob is my servant; I will uphold him. Israel is my chosen; my soul has accepted him. I have put my spirit upon him; he will bring forth judgment to the nations.
Thus says the Lord God, who made the sky and fixed it, who established the earth and the things in it, and who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk on it:
I, the Lord God, called you in righteousness, and I will take hold of your hand and strengthen you; and I gave you as a covenant to a race, as a light to nations,
Sing to the Lord a new hymn — his dominion! Glorify his name from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea and sail upon it, the islands and those who inhabit them.
Rejoice, O wilderness, and its villages, the farmsteads; and those who inhabit Kedar will rejoice. Those who inhabit Petra will shout from the tops of the mountains.
And I will lead the blind in a way they did not know, and I will make them tread paths they did not know; I will turn the darkness into light for them and the crooked things into straight. These words I will do, and I will not forsake them.
And the people became plundered and despoiled; for the snare is everywhere in the storerooms and in the houses together, where they hid them. They became plunder, and there was no one to rescue the spoil, and there was no one saying: Give it back.
Who gave Jacob over to plunder, and Israel to those who despoiled him? Was it not God, against whom they sinned, and they were not willing to walk in his ways nor to hear his law?
And he brought upon them the anger of his wrath, and war overpowered them, and those who set them ablaze all around; and each of them did not know it, nor did they lay it to heart.
