The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because of which he anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind,
to give to those who mourn in Sion glory instead of ashes, the oil of gladness to those who mourn, a robe of glory instead of a spirit of despondency; and they shall be called generations of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for glory.
And they shall build up the ancient waste places; they shall raise up what was formerly laid desolate, and they shall renew the desolate cities that have lain waste for generations.
But you shall be called priests of the Lord; they shall call you ministers of God. You shall eat the strength of nations, and in their wealth you shall be admired.
For I am the Lord who loves righteousness and hates plunder gained by injustice; and I will give their toil to the righteous, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
And their seed and their descendants shall be known among the nations; everyone who sees them shall recognize them, that these are a seed blessed by God.
And they shall rejoice with joy in the Lord. Let my soul exult in the Lord, for he has clothed me with a garment of salvation and a tunic of gladness; as on a bridegroom he has put a headdress on me, and as a bride he has adorned me with ornament.
And as the earth makes its flower grow, and as a garden its seeds, so shall the Lord cause righteousness and exultation to spring up before all the nations.
